Jon's Dedicated Fruity Pebble Cookies Grow Plus The Mystery Plant

It would be close in that scenario, right? That's what I would think. The only wrench in the experiment is that the spent soil pile only gets half a day's worth of great light and the rest is shaded. I just measured with the diffuser and using the natural sunlight setting on the Phototone app, and right now, the morning shade, which is sunup til about noon, reads on top of the pile at 360 ppfd. Great for seedlings. Lol. But the second half of the day is all sun direct. So we'll see.
And what about the readings on the blurple?

Yum! I'm prepping my soil for the seedlings too, half light warrior, half happy frog, bokashi, frass, myco & great white. I'm going to wet it down and let it sit for 2-3 days does that sound ok to you?
That's about what I do!

And what about the readings on the blurple?
Those I can set wherever I like by adjusting the height of the plant. I will not be matching to ppfd in the rig to the shady ppfd of the sunlight. Lol.

How about an average between shade and sunlight?
I was thinking more along the lines of let's at least get decent buds from one of the two......

Ok. you're probably right.:confused:
Your heart is in the experiment, Azi, and I appreciate that. I just can't see intentionally crippling a plant by depriving it of light just to make a point I already know the answer to.

Plus, they're not my plants so I can shout suggestions from the cheap seats.

Just don't start thinking that seat was free. I have a feeling you paid your share of dues growing to be sitting there. Like we all do.

24 Karat #1 (outdoor rig in small pot)
Day 1

Well, this is a plus/minus. Incredibly, the one 24 Karat in the prepped little pot is already up. Less than 24 hours. Not only is it up, it's up with what is a good bit of stem for 18 hours in the dirt. I'm very surprised. That's the plus.

The minus is that this seed coat on her is as unlikely to come off without help as any I've ever seen. I will literally have to somehow squeeze it to complete the break in the seed coat enough to remove it. Delicate operation, but I fear if I don't, she's going to die right there cuz her leaves won't come out.

Always has to be a goddamn challenge. Can't I just have something easy for a change?

Jungletown

This is what I see when I open the main doors to the tent to water in the morning. Yeah, it's a jungle, but much more organized than it appears in this pull back shot. Note how incredibly bright the light is at 100%. I have never flowered a tent out at 100% on this light before, it's always been too powerful. But these girls are pretty damn close, getting blasted with 1400 ppfd, and they're LOVING it. It's uncanny. It's a bit much for the Jack, she wants just a little less, as I can see from a touch of leaf curl on her, nothing to worry about. Elora and Fulvia obviously are very okay with it, as is the Mystery Plant/Spud Bud. Not the least sign of light stress, curling, burning, tips diving, or pistils browning. It's really incredible. If I accidentally look up right into the light, the after image stays on my retina for a bit....it's actually kind of a cool effect when you're stoned first thing in the morning, lol. I gotta get some glasses. My Transitions lenses on my vision sunglasses that get darker in the sun don't come close to getting dark enough.

And if you zoom in close on a random bud just anywhere on Fulvia or Elora, but especially Fulvia, who is stacking like a crazy woman, you see something along these lines:

Zkittlez Auto

I can take her whenever almost at this point by the trichomes, she needs a bit longer by the eye test. I am going to let her dry out for a few days and take her then most likely. Think she's done fattening, and most of the white pistils are gone. I 'm just waiting on red hairs to curl in and for them to tighten up, and maybe let the trichs mature for a couple or three more days. Daily assessment.

Here's the new toy and the first hand held trichome shot with it, and then a few bud shots. About the same as the old one when hand held, although the wider lens cap and cylinder make it easier to steady on a bud and keep the hairs off the lens. Bigger lens too. Clarity is about the same - it's $40 clarity. Lol. I suspect the buds I sit on the tray and use the scope as pictured will be super clear. New lens with no black mark in the corner is sweet. Great, solid little toy for the coin.

The buds look so damn sweet, I wish I hadn't lost 3 of them. 8 is so much better than 5. Lmao. Damn irresponsible dog owners.....

24 Karat

We got the seed coat off.

But now the leaves are trapped inside the clear coating. This I hope will break from pressure pretty soon now.

@Azimuth, remember that Raven ZZ and the thing we agreed was an emerging flower? It wasn't! It was an emerging seed pod. The way this plant seeds itself is wild. After the picture I showed of the flower looking thing, over the next week the tip got real hard, looking kind of like a mini ear of corn. Then, within a few days of that, it just planted itself right, directly into the ground. Stuck those seeds right in, and it's in there tough, too. Pretty cool, thought I'd share.

If it were me, I'd remove the embryonic sac with a needle. I had to do that with CK.
Good idea! Thanks! I was wondering what tool would do it.

Spent Soil Pile 24 Karat
Day 1

What's that in the spent soil/prepped soil pile? Oh, that's just Jon going 2 for 2 in less than 24 hours in the dirt. Business as usual in these parts.
