Day 38
Defol Day
I got up and checked the WWC this morning and I learned something in the process:
You can only take zero leaves for so long before it gets so jammed up that you begin to get this:
This is just water sitting on a leaf I took. I started lifting some of the big fans up today to see what was under the hood, and I kept finding spots like this. Anywhere there were two gigantic fan leaves laying on top of one another there was this condensation in the space between. That tells me I need air flow big time, and I can't ignore defoliation any longer. Lol. Hey, we pushed it 38 days in coco!!! A record!
Anyway, so defoliate her I did, and due to where the moisture buildup was the worst, I was even forced to take a few large fans off the top. However, I didn't take all that much, and now she's opened up sweetly.
Here's a shot from overhead post defoliation.
And here's a sideshot post defol. Now she looks like a Mexican sombrero or something.
Now we shouldn't have to take a whole lot else, just little stuff that won't get out of the way of a desired photon beam or two.
Let's get this show on the road!!!
Give her the Marilyn Monroe treatment.
Hi @BubbaKush909 ! This usually happens because a grower starts their bloom clock on the day of the flip, when bloom actually starts 7-10 days later, depending on the strain. I find that when I call that beginning period a transition period, and start my bloom clock when the plants actually start blooming, most of my grows are done exactly on the day the breeder predicts.Looks great Jon! The website says 8-9 weeks but I've never had one finish in the timeframe given. This is looking like 8 weeks max.
Nice segue! While she was giving birth, I was tending to this. The garden on 4/14 at noon.
Well saidNice segue!
Like that? I kinda patted myself on the back once or twice for that one when I wrote it, embarrassing truth be told....Nice segue!
Congratulations Jon.The Garden on April 14th
Yesterday I became a great-uncle for the second time. My brother's daughter, Serena, had her second child. 9 lbs. +! and a girl, no name yet. She went no epidural this time to see what it was like. The quote post birth: "I will NEVER do that again!" LOL.
Here's my niece Serena and the new addition to the fam!
While she was giving birth, I was tending to this. The garden on 4/14 at noon.
And today we topped the much improved and far from forgotten about Jack Herer auto (one of my top 5 all time favorite strains).
One more day til the weekend! I don't have any actual cigars, but I do have one blunt wrap that I keep around just in case certain friends stop by. I may have to roll a blunt today and use that as my cigar to celebrate our clan growing by one. Nothing like advancing your gene pool. Lol.
This is an auto. I'm just counting total days from sprout to chop. When I grew photos I had the same experience as you.Hi @BubbaKush909 ! Happy Easter my friend.Mighty Fulvia
Veg Day 45
Good morning @Bill284. Let's talk about a problem that's not really a problem at all. This Fulvia.
I believe at this point she is forcing my hand. I'm going to have to flip this tent no later than day 50 if we even get there. I mean, look at the girth of this plant. And the height. Her top is halfway up the side door of the tent and as tall as I am in my chair. She can go no lower. I am unable to get a shot that truly shows the extent of the total space she already takes up, but it's basically half the damn tent. I don't know what's up with this pheno, but it's just gone completely apeshit on me. I mean, Elora is no joke, and Fulvia DWARFS her. Fortunately I still have significant space I can raise the light.
Now double this plant in size. She's not all trained out with a trillion bud sites in a canopy, so she is definitely going to AT LEAST double. But for the sake of argument, double her. And don't forget to double the other one too. Oh, and whatever you want to add for the Mystery Plant, I have no idea what she's going to do, but she should at least take up more space than she is now. The auto will be gone.
See what I mean? This tent will be as close to uncontrollable as I've ever let it be. That's if I flip TODAY.
So....all that said, I've decided to take a couple days and even her tops out as best I can, clean out the undercarriages and do a little defol, and then send them to flower. Like, on Monday, after the weekend.
Thoughts? I know you want me to go bigger, as I know that's your first inclination. Mine too. And if she had the tent to herself, I guarantee I could fill this entire 5x5 with Fulvia. No question, even in the 7. And believe me, I have considered 1000 scenarios to GIVE her the tent to herself, which basically amounts to if I had a place to flower Elora I'd put the Mystery plant with her and let Fulvia go crazy. But I don't. I even considered building a rig for the Mars Hydro light just for flowering ONE TIME. Lmao. Can't sell the idea to the powers that be, too close to putting the house on the market.
We're stuck with this space and three plants. Gotta make it work. I can do it, I'm not worried about that....but not if I wait any longer. It's about time to start this show.
Here she is right now.
Is it Easter? What's that, one of those religious holidays? I don't know from Easter. Lmao.Happy Easter my friend.
Sounds like cold feet to me.
Bite off more than you can chew and start feken chewen, my moto.
So you don't have the space to stick with plan A no worries Mucker.
That why growing is a fluid operation.
If you think Monday is best then plan B it is.
She is a thick happy lady.
With no problem flipping now, infact she wants to go.
Just look at her wow.
And there are options if things go pear shaped.
Good luck, can't wait.
Stay safe
Bill
