Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

One of our sponsors JJBones just started a thread on compost teas and how they work, heres the link.
Your Soil is Alive! Great Compost Tea Information
He just started it so theres only one post but he shared a link that has some exellent info on how organic soil works, im just getting into it now so far its a very informative read:)
that brewer is pretty cool too!

Ask Sl1ng about that. I think he has some DIY plans to make his own. I thought he was making 2 or one really giant one!

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

Thanks for the info on the LEDs I'm looking into them as I'll be getting one once harvest comes and have been looking around the web to find something reliable and suitable. Looking at people's grows and seeing what lights they use etc. I will have to wait and see what the market has in 45days give or take, and then go around buying the led. The community is a great place. Especially for input from everyone to be sure you get a solid product it's awesome.

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

I just got back from the hydro shop I now have everythibg needed for my first try at supersoil, im still waiting for the Azomite and humic acid.Looks like it will cost me around $400 twice a year, its more than what Sub was saying but thats the price I pay to live in the North and im fine with that,I bought 50 pounds of worm castings, that and the bat guano are the most expensive items on the list, it still beats the hell out of 600 bucks a round for sinthetic nutes:)

Did you ask them if they could supply you with roots organic by any chance?

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

I asked them about any and all good organic bases and they said sure but you have to buy it by the skid load, 80 bags of roots shipped from Oregon where its made that weighs 2400 pds would be really expensive, same goes for Sunshine #4 or any other brand available, they can get it but I ll be paying tripple or more for it so thats not an option, I ll just learn how to make my own roots organic from scratch:)

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

Theres a few brands of organic soil around like Miracle Grow and this stuff I got by Premier.

IMAG15211.jpg

its OMRI approved but it doesnt really say whats in it.Im trying it out this round and if for for whatever reason it doesnt work well I ll just make my own base, I can get most of the engredients for roots here locally and I can order whatevers missing online.Heres a question, if I end up making my own base soil will I have to cook it first and then make the supersoil and cook it again or could I mix all the engredients for the base and the supersoil at the same time and cook it all at once?

OUTDOOR UPDATE
DAY 51 FROM SEED

Everything outdoors is looking great, I cant get over how easy growing autos is!since transplant all ive done is water them, no defoliating, no training and other than mixing in the bloom nutes a few days ago theres no mixing nutes every other watering, I wonder how autos would do in supersoil, im guessing it would be to hot for them but I have to say this time release nutrient line im using seems to be working beautifully and its really simple, mix in a quarter cup of the veg nutes into the bottom half of the pots when you transplant and then 30 days later when they are just starting to flower mix in a quarter cup of bloom nutes into the top 1/4 of the promix and just water from then on.
There are quite a few of them over 5 feet tall now and that one is now as tall as me just over 6 feet! I ve never seen a 5 foot auto let alone a 6 footer:)

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

I don't think you'll be troubled with making your own...that appears to be a great soil...Hell I get a nice complete that's made in small batches about 100 miles away for $4.60 a bag & other than my initial feed of fish I've haven't fed them & their happy...A quality soil like that should be super duty...Oh yeah, since your planning on keeping the soil indoors, get some worms to put in your bins & it'll stay soft..

Auto power FTW....I'm so jealous of that outdoor crop...

I have replaced bat guano with good old composted cow manure. Four bucks for 40 pounds...

Is bat shit that much better? I have used both on the same strains and see no difference, well that is not true my plants are doing better than last go but you know that is "normal" as you fine tune your game. In fact I have to redo my feeding routine!!

1 lunch bag of rip-guano = 200 pounds of fresh wonderful composted cow manure :cheesygrinsmiley:

edit -- I add my leftover fishing worms to my compost pile... they love it and you don't need worm shit either :cheesygrinsmiley:

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

Hey buck, manure grades are stacked like this. Goat-cow-horse-bat....Mostly in terms of how fast they break down...Bat is the slowest so it feeds longer...Jon's trying for a soil that will last 120(roughly) days on only water...

Thats some good info there Legit, I didnt know that:)

re: Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

very nice jon, plants looking great,

that compost is the cheap stuff i use here, looks like the same size bag i get here, my plants love that nature mix, it costs anything from £1 to £2 per bag from shops near me, i bought expensive stuff but the plants did not like it at all, so back to using that cheap stuff,

is that what your thinking about using as a base for the super soil

I know absolutely nothing about organic growing bro so im trying to make Sub's tried and true recipe to start off with, once Ive educated myself on what every different amendment does for the plants maybe I ll play around with the recipe a bit but from the look of Subcool's 12 oz award winning plants grown in his recipe with water only I dont see why I would:)
