JimmieJ's First Grow - Closet - Soil - Bag Seed - CFLs

I'm sorry guys - I think I'm all over the place and just expect everyone to be able to read my mind. I have two separate things going on.

The one that I think Rad is saying to go ahead and flush is the one below right that's flowering. My thoughts though, are that this came on so quickly that if I flush it, by the time it dries out, could it look like the one above, because that one lost its color in a matter of days. Is it far enough along that it can handle going yellow? Look at the one below that. I just took it and you can see how much more yellow it got since yesterday. If that's common for a flowering plant, then I'll relax and let it do what it's going to do. I'm just getting paranoid I guess because it's my first grow and I don't want anything to go wrong that can be fixed.

Thanks guys and tell me if I just need to take a chill pill and relax.:thanks:

I'm saying take a chill pill on this one. Someone may have a good idea for you, but if you do nothing your flowering will still come out fine. Chillin 2 isn't she?

I am so using this !

The wisdom of growing is often the wisdom of nature. Nature often apears to do nothing.

Masonobu Fukuoka called his method "the natural way of farming" or "Do- Nothing Farming".

A very wise man.

I agree, Right now, Everything is mostly on auto pilot, I'm just keeping my girls watered when they need it and waiting for them to grow. Not much to do right now. Even the cloner is working great and I'm just waiting. At least it's not physically demanding!

As long as the flowering turns out fine, she can turn blue for all I care! And it's Chillin 1. Chillin 2 is the smaller one that needed more veg, but I put her in the flower closet and she's blooming. I think you warned me that she could start flowering if I left her in there, and I think within a day or two she did. Look at her go.

I'm gonna have to go with Rad on this one cause I'm stumped... and when in doubt... do nothing... let's give her a few days and see what's going to happen....:thumb:....:circle-of-love:

Seeing how you both agree, I'll do nothing. I do want to get them off the MG though. I'm sure it's time to put them on something more suitable for flowering. I'm thinking tomato fertilizer. Yay? Nay?

The ONLY thing I have to add is that with PJ's soil I haven't had to use any nutes or additives and my plants (besides the trichomes so far) have grown great. They are big and healthy even with me defoliating them.

I like the thought of not adding anything. I'm planning on using PJ soil for my next grow. I think. I haven't priced all the ingredients yet. Don't worry about trichs. As you know, I'm no expert, but one of my plants has trichs and one doesn't yet. The seed for my trich-less plant came from smoke that was far superior to the stuff that gave me the seed for the one with trichs. It must be in the genetics. We'll both have our answers in a couple months.:thumb:

I have exactly 1 grow of experience using fertilizer, so I for one don't know.

According to my notoriously leaky memory, a few pages back someone suggested nutes at 1/2 strength every other watering (because of the time release nutrition in the soil.) Do you have a hydro store in your village? A hardware store with Foxfarm nutrients? I'm not recommending any particular line of nutrients, just that it is easier to fertilize with a recipe - and marijuana nutes come with recipes.

Tomato fertilizer will work, of course. If you have some on hand, there is probably a nutrients board where you can search/or post with the brand name.

Chillin 1 clone was doing so well, she got moved up to a bigger container. I couldn't decide which one, so she got the smaller upgrade.

Handy Dandy 2 was just kind of existing so she got a massive flush today. I took a soil sample and will compare the pre-flush sample to the post-flush and see what happened with the N/P/K levels. Maybe I can get an idea of what is wrong with her.

Here they both are in the veg closet

Handy Dandy 1 clone hasn't rooted yet but is still hanging in there. She can't handle going without her dome for more than an hour yet.

The clones in water are doing ok other than one dying fan leaf. I'm pretty sure they both came from Chillin 2 so they're female. I really love females.

Man its lookin good in here JimJ! I have some experience with MG ferts... If you are using the water soluble boxed powder ferts the bloom booster would be your best bet. Tomato is too hot for them at this stage.. Cut the ratio in half for the first two feedings though. I didnt introduce the stronger "k" tomato food til the 5th week of flower. Then it was only 1/2 mixed with 1/2 bloom booster. :thumb:

Smoke... My King Tut is 51 days in bloom and today is the first day I have been able to see sugar with the naked eye... it is amazing how quickly it happens too... it is all over the buds and shiney on the leaves now and that happened literally over night... She is already asleep or I would take a pic for ya but you know what she looked like when I posted it up here the other day... I will poat her up in the morning and you can see just how fast it happens.....:thumb:....:circle-of-love:

Your going to have to go a ways to talk any of us into telling you to use MG...:thedoubletake: I will admit I started with it and with the help of some great folks we made it work but there is nothing good about it... it makes your herb taste terrible and it just isn't good for growing herb IMO... Now with that said for what you will spend on that there has to be something you can find around your area that is not time released... you have absolutely no control with MG... :passitleft: Just sayin.....:circle-of-love:

Thanks Dennise, that helps me feel better knowing that mine will get sticky quickly but it could be a while before I can see it. I assumed you were talking to me, but we are on Jimmies journal so I just wanted to make sure that post was for me (I assume it was because of me worrying about having no trich's on mine yet).
Thanks
Smokey

Thanks Logger. The tomato fertilizer I have is 2-7-4. I just picked up some bloom plus that is 10-54-10. I looked at the bloom booster and it's 15-30-15. It's actually got the exact same analysis panel as the all-purpose stuff that I've had for years. The all purpose stuff they're selling now is 24-8-16. :MoreNutes:

Two of my girls are in their 4th week of flower.

So... If I'm going to go with your recommendation, I'd probably need to continue with the all-purpose that I have, since it's the same as today's bloom booster, and some time after next week, I'll need to cut the all-purpose in half and start with 1/2 doses of the tomato food. Correct me if I didn't get that right, and tell me if should replace the all-purpose that I have with the bloom plus (10-54-10). If not, I'll just return it.

Dennise, if you're reading this, I promise I'll use living soil after this grow.

Darlin' if this works for ya that will be awesome and I totally understand using what ya got... I just got real lucky that when it was time to reup my supplies PJ popped in and I just got the things I needed to make my PJ soil... if I had other stuff in hand I would have used it first... I have cabinets full of nutes that I have never used and really have no plan of ever using now... but it took me 2 years to find what I was happy with... You may get the best buds on the planet with this stuff... IDK...:thedoubletake: but it's worth a shot....:high-five:....:circle-of-love:

Thanks Dennise, I knew you'd understand! :thumb:

I've been meaning to ask you - do you use your PJ soil for one grow and then use new stuff, or do you renew it in any way and reuse?
