JBC's Super Soil - Fully Organic 4x Blue Mystic + 1x CH9 Jack FEMS

Very nice jbc. I have been feeling overworked and tired lately too. so havent really been around.

But the plants look good and healthy.
Did you top them? I would try and remove those bigger fans at least 1-2 per plant to get some light to the lower growth.
I know you probably already know this so disregard if so.

cheers

hey buddy things looking tip top. only a minor thing no big deal but maybe just hang your temp/humidty gauge at plant height.. you get an inaccurate reading if its on the soil.

Hey Deception, Yeah cheers mate I will do. Thanks for stopping by :)

I'l wait a week I think and tie the other branches around the gaps in the pots opposite to the topped heads , top them , wait another week an probably switch :)

Someone aked for the training pics so will document them for you, cant remember who sorry as they many a post here lol. I only removed the pans that were covering branch tops to minimize stress. If they need them chopping again during flower I will do. :thumb:

Great man, all your side branches will start shooting up now that the main top is tied down. You can further LST the other branches later too. Just make sure you give them a good 10 days or 2 weeks to proper recover and be ready for bloom.

While you LST, remember your goals. It's not about tying as much branches down as you can (that's what I did first lol). Always keep your goals in mind while LST'ing. An even canopy is the goal? That means some branches have to go down in some specific direction, while others don't even need to be disturbed. You get my drift? You'll find yourself intuitively doing it in no time, let common sense be your guide, it never failed me.

I usually LST and top. only not done a few times. I do it different everytime. But yeah there no point not doing really. But all the ones I got most out of were topped and LST'nd. Just thought this time as there were 6 in there toe to toe maybe I didnt need to , but there would of been gaps in the canopy if not. Thanks for reminding me though, been working hard and been too tired to think too deep into it recently.

Keep info coming everyone, thanks again ismokes.

I like the new haircut and rope bondage lst. I am not really a fan of topping unless it is a strain thing that requires it. Most of the time I just keep removing the biggest fan leaf every couple days depending on how fast she grows. It works so well that I hardly ever do anything else. I do have a trellis netting one at 36" and one at 48". these nettings allow me to keep manipulating the canopy as she stretches.

I am excited to see them bush out in the next couple weeks. when did you drop these babies in the ss?

Sounds like a good system you have going. Might try it that way next time. I put them in the SuperSoil on the 27th, 10 days ago now. Did give them a tiny bit of Biobizz root juice yesterday but doesnt seem like they needed it really . They look a little pale on the pictures but they aren't if you see them face to face. They are a little dark which I dont think is best as it means a bit too much N, so will continue with plain water next feed.

Yea I know what you mean on the dark green/pale thing. Mines looked bluish hue under a T5 but under MH they look gold and green. I havent been feeding mine N ever since I planted them in coco. I really take advantage of Organic Bone Meal. Im impressed by it. I just feed additives once or twice a week and then go plan water with hygrozyme.

Looking good in that tent. How do you like the fabric pots so far? Ive got alot of different reviews on them. Still have to go back and see how you put your super soil together. Maybe I can incorporate that into my coco. What wattage light are you using for veg/flower?

whatever works for you bru! i like to have some deep green foliage going into flower but i like to see that change from 4-6 weeks into flower but I am a rookie still. I have studied and I know a fair amount but that is why I say if it is working for you dont listen to me.
I will try to help whenever i can but i will only speak if I am knowledgeable about the subject to keep bad information from spreading on here.

Im stoned I guess cheers buddy

Hey wizz mate,
They started veg under a 250w 6500k CFL but now vegging under 1x 250w 6500k
1x 250w 2700k.
Wanted to get the HPS this week but im paying bills through my eyeballs at the min so maybe not this week. Also got Valentine's day coming and all that. But seen as they still in veg there no rush really. Had a 60w 2700k in the center as well but removed it because of heat problems. Need better intake fan really, just use a normal fan pulling it in from the vents at the bottom of the tent.

The smart pots are ok, dont see any major difference and the 2 are in there to catch up but not really doing so not sure. Plus they not great for LSTing as the fabric pulls to the plant too much. Also when your moving them there is a little movement in them so not best really. I'd go with airpots if I wanted more air to the roots as they more rigid. Another thing when you water they spill out of the sides. So not ideal really.

Yeah you can use coco in a supersoil mix, I would of done but didnt sell the righ kind at the garden center. I used coco/soil on the AK-47 in journal link below. Its great for roots but to be honest the roots that are coming out of the bottom of my pots now are MASSIVE and really white, probably better than my coco only grows. They biggest obviously on the bigger 2. Serious roots out of the bottom which i'm pleased with at such an early age.

They a tiny bit curled as you can see but thats because that medium holds a water well , so will keep my eye on that and just water when needed.

Yeah its a good idea and the taste of soil is the best. I did a crappy cheap ass grow about 3 years ago in nothing but soil and no nutes as I had some troubes and threw all my nutes and gear out of fear. The plant stuggled through as it was crap soil and only had some biobizz grow right near the end.

The strain was Amnesia Haze and was the BEST most chronic weed I have ever grown. The plant looked like crap and the buds not so well but they were solid and the taste and smell was out of this world. Some say organics seems complicated but i find it easier than coco alone as I dont pH or feed all the time. I just water once a week and they fine.

Here is the soil Amnesia, she really was the best smoke ever, with pretty much no nutes (once at end) and a POOR setup, Nutes aint everything :)

Dont judge on the luck I had nothing at the time and have been re-building for last 3 years :) :peace:

I have to hand it to ya. That really looks skunky. I can tell it had a strong body high with a smooth pull. I find coco better IMO. Just because I like to control everything that I throw at my plant. Im half organic and chemical. Add nothing but organics to the roots and coco but feed with floranova. Alot of GH products organic and chemical. In my hydro I do the same just using BPN products with that. I like just taking the best of each part of growing and medium/nutes and add them all together for a great grow. Thats why I like watching everyones journal just to see what I can take from it and learn :)

Yeah thats the way, take all the info and use what is best for you. I do like coco I just had one bad one with them when I took some bad advice on keeping the medium wet, which is sooo wrong. I think you still treat coco like soil for best results.

Hope you get some beans soon and get one started , cant wait to see them :)

Stop by my first journal I have plants going in there still. Just chopped one down and have 8 going in veg. 6 coco and 1 DWC.
Yea I treat my coco like soil. Nothing different about it just more airy and it doesnt stay wet long. Just have to make sure you add calcium every other feed because coco will take that away from the plants roots. But thats why I add bone meal. I have CaMg+ for back up

Hey 420Mag! :)

Ok sot some pictures of the girls, they've had some defoliation, training and topping. I have pictures of the process and at the end of Veg I will put them all together to show the way I like to do it if anyone interested. Cool beanz......

Ok first I think the GLR has slowed growth a bit but not too much. Not going to flip back but as I want to veg 2-3 weeks longer I maybe did it a bit soon. Probably best a week before the flip I'm beginning to learn.

Second I went to water them today but the pots still a little heavy and there is water still in the bottom so they are sweet for maybe another week max. Still not feeding seems the BioBizz Root juice was enough and the Super soil is really igniting now :thumb:

O yeah and one more thing. If I was you I wouldnt use CFL's this far into veg as they just dont seem to grow as fast as a grow under a MH (HID). I would start CFL for seedlings for first 2-3 weeks then switch to maybe a 400w MH and a 600w HPS for flower in my size room. In a perfect world. But not got the full funds for that until flower (BILLS!!!)

Ok here is before the massacre took place.

This is me and I know some do it different but in my tent I dont take off more than 20% of the leaf at a time as I reckon it causes too much shock and heavy shocked plants always grow a bit slower after and never really fully recover. Some may disagree but thats just what ive learnt.

Ok here is after the Defoil, LST and topping session.

The 2 at the back are the strongest of the bunch and 2-4 days older than the middle 2 but they will all be trained this way.

Ok cool, Thanks for that info Wizz!! maybe just want them to explode now, really need these HID's. Its wasting a bit of time really not having them.

No need to rush on the HID lights bro. I got hammered with alot of ppl telling me I need to upgrade lights. I started out with just my 4ft 4bulb T5 and some CFL's. Then I upgraded to a 400w MH/HPS. But the thing is the longer I was growing I started to understand. Its not about the huge light source. Even though more light is better dont get me wrong but I vegged great plants under my T5 and under 4x CFL's alone. The DWC plants were first vegged under 4x CFL's. They grew that size with in a week tops. They use to be only 2" and was falling behind the others. The lighting was on 16/8 though. The real bushy Indica was vegged under my T5 along with the sativas. I wouldnt stress not having the your HID light right now. Fact of the matter is, your suppose to double the light source in flowering. So since your vegging under CFL's now when you get around the time its due to flip the lights they will produce more and love you alot more for that.

I only veg with my 400w for 2 weeks before I flip the lights. Other than that ther always under T5's or CFL's.
