James' Soil - Multi-Strain 2012 Grow

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Yep, works good while feeding too.

If you can afford it....it's expensive .....use AZAMAX. You feed it too your plants and it kills and repels insects of all kinds. I always used it in my outdoor grows.

Ok...Azamax...thanks OMM...on my list too...

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Well damn damn damn....
(pardon the french)

Why oh why did I have to be right this time????

I went to check on the girls and saw a little fungus gnat dive into the soil of my celeste clone. I went to smooosh him (hopefully they are all hims) and saw about a dozen or so pop up! I looked over and saw about 3 or 4 flying around the canopy of my other girls.

So 'Home Defense' and 'Azamax' are now both on Wednesday's shopping list. I am also going to replant the celeste clone out in my garage and just pitch all the dirt from it (glad garbage day is just around the corner!!).

Hopefully going to nip em in the bud and prevent a mass outbreak!!!

This is also making me wonder if that is why the girls are not drinking/eating as fast as they were. Maybe it's because their roots are being fed on? Again, hopefully it's too soon for that to be that issue.

:thankyou: again OMM for the Azamax suggestion... And I forgot who's journal it was that I read about Home Defense, but thank you as well if you know who you are!!!!

Oh Man jameswri85:smokin2:

I really didn't want to hear that my friend. That sucks! Give em hell on Wednesday. You know I'm rooting for you. I have faith...kill em all! :grinjoint:

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Well other than the those gnasty gnats, all the girls are doing good. I have seen some growth (both height, and pistilage) and I have not found any signs of the extra nutrients burning them. Some of the foliage is still a little yellow even (I'm assuming this is still lack of N?)

I have not pulled them out of the closet for a close inspection yet but from looking around I can't find anymore messed up leaves. Looks like the extra nutrients and the cal-mag may have done the trick!!

Now I don't know if I should continue to add the cal-mag every feeding or not. Now that they are up where they should be with cal and mag, should I just stick to the extra BPN and see if they maintain that healthy level or continue with a low dose of the cal-mag as well?

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Glad I caught up. I was unaware you could mix pest products with your nutes. Great information! Thanks! :Namaste:

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

:thumb: I have not seen any negatives from it yet!:high-five:

I am unsure with the azamax as I have only seen the label sitting on the shelf. Obviously the neem oil didn't do it's job anyways, I'll try the foliar and see, if nothing happens I may abandon this stuff.

Thanks for coming by!!:Namaste: Glad to be of help!!

Glad you can't see any more damage.

I would wait and see on the cal mag. If they are not getting better, then a little more.

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Thank you OMM, that's what I was leaning towards the most, so you just convinced me!!!!:high-five:
I am going play with the nutrients a little more this time. The last time I did about and extra gallons worth of the feedings, give or take some. This time I may do almost 2 gallons extra. Also last time I didn't add on as much of the micro as I did the grow because I was adding the cal-mag, I didn't want to over-due it. This next feeding I will up the micro some more too. I also cut back on the soil activator, humate tea, and k-bud to leave a damper for the extra grow, micro, and bloom. This time I will make these full strength and almost double the others.

I lifted them today and cheese, Barbie, and aunt bernice are all ready for a watering. Celeste is over-due for one, her smart pot dries out the quickest (Partly because it's 2 gallon) and because she is growing more than the rest. Misty isn't quite ready yet. I have been mixing up 2 gallons each time and having just enough to fill my quart size spray bottle which will last until I need to water again... spray bottle just ran out yesterday, and they might be getting watered today if I feel up to doing it. That is with spraying heavily about 6 times a day.

Still wasn't able to get to replant the celeste clone. That will be either be tonight or tomorrow before using the azamax. Off to smoke a bowl and hope it motivates me into getting something done!!

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Well I went to the hydro store today and didn't realize the Azamax was $27 for a tiny thing of it. So while looking around I saw the SNS 203, I though great site sponsor and looks pretty good. Then I got home and realized it is not OMRI listed and doesn't even hint at being organic! Dang it!!!

I believe what I may do is just go return this and pay the extra to go with the Azamax! Any opinions?? Is it a real big deal?? I definitely don't like the sounds of spraying chemicals on organic plants but I'm sure SNS 203 is still good??

Any opinions appreciated!!!

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Thought so.... Just didn't want to need to drive there again...

Azamax it is!:thumb:

:thankyou:

Sorry, I thought I said it was expensive. I hated to, but when I grew outside I would buy a frickin gallon. :smokin2:

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

Man.... I was expecting to pay $20 a quart or so, not $27 for a pint that's already half gone after one use. lol

But hey, if it does what it is suppose to then it will all be worth it!

I gave them a feeding and an Azamax soil drench, so now I'm going to save the other half of the bottle for foliar sprays. I mixed up 4 gallons this time and only used about 3 (after filling my spray bottle to). Then gave them a drenching several times, as soon they would dry I would drench them again making sure to get every inch of every leaf.

In the whole time I was taking the girls out, taking pictures, and watering, I only saw maybe half a dozen to a dozen little buggers fly in front of my face. I am fairly confident that I caught them in time and took care of them before they spread too bad. I am going to keep spraying the leaves several times a day for the next few days to make sure I have a good coating on them to have a mite prevention in place for when I can no longer spray.

I will have an update up at some point today. If anyone needs to see what an extremely underwatered plant looks like, the pictures will be up later.... whoops..

Re: James' BPN Farmer's Pride Soil, Multi-strain 2012 Grow

The only reason I am spraying so much right now is to make sure I'm getting all the fungus gnats with the Azamax (by mixing it with my nutrients I know it has to be diluted). The next spray will be pure azamax and I'll be cutting down the amount. Azamax works as a protector on the leaves and will repel bugs by making the leaf undesirable to them (spider mites, gnats, aphids, pretty much everything it seems). Since I will be getting buds soon and won't be able to spray anymore I want to make sure all parts of the plant are covered with the azamax so there is nowhere for the little critters to go!

I have been spraying top and bottom of leaves so I can be sure it's covered. I am going to save at least one maybe two doses of the azamax so when the ladies are done stretching I can give them one good spray to cover any new foliage.
