hey shed do you know any natural way of saving a plant in soil from root rot? I'm asking for a friend who asked me that here down south... the main stem is brown but all the other stems are still green and we deff think it's root rot

Let the roots dry! It's over watering.... soil needs wet and dry cycle and without the dry.... bugs, root rot, and a plethora of other problems can come into play very quickly

I don't but maybe this will:
Tips And Information For Treating Root Rot In Houseplants

You could try H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) which will kill good and bad microbes in the soil, so if it saves the plant you will need to reintroduce good microbes when you're done using it.

And yes, what MadDab said. Root rot is caused by over-watering so if it can get saved, stop that!

He just ran with his drill and did a lot of holes on the pot() to help the airflow and hopefully dry ASAP the soil

Tell him to start watering based on weight of his bucket. Tell him to let it dry out completely. Like dust. Then feel the bucket. Then let it get close to that weight before watering each time. Easiest way for new growers. Also have him water a lesser amount, more frequent. Keep her thirsty. Keep her hungry. I only ever water about a 1/4 gallon to flowering plants. But I water every single day. One day I water next day I feed nutes. Repeat. Hope this helps bro.

How do you know all the roots are getting wet with that little water? I feel like the only way I know every root is getting fed is with runoff.

It's not about getting every root wet shed. It's about getting the right amount of moisture for the plant to grow. I mix it up though. Once a week I give them each a gallon of straight water and then start over again. On my lesser dose. You really want to keep some roots hungry looking for moisture and taking in oxygen. You will see increased growth this way

I know that going thirsty in veg is the way to get roots to grow but are flowering plants still focused on root development? I feel like once they head into flower the plant is expending energy on reproduction above the soil, and I want to make sure that every single root that feeds that flowering process is getting the nutes it needs.

Not that your flowering plants look underfed :)
