InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Yay! All caught up (I don’t think I’ll catch up everywhere tho’... phew!)

Garden looking tops here Shed.

I also thought maybe thrips for one or two of those marks... but the bigger holes I’m not sure. Reckon the Spinosad should do the trick ( :rofl:auto correct kept changing that to Spinoza... ;) ). I have had some thrip action on my young candida cd-1 as well. Treating for it with aggressive spraying of very mild foliar solutions. None visible at today’s inspection :thumb:

I had picked up a couple of quotes, but lost them when my phone battery went dead... bugger. CAnt even really remember what they were now so i cant have been very important

Oh - I did want to concur with PGR and someone else who suggested that the cheap watt meter is really the easiest way to be sure of what your drawing from the wall. I just left mine plugged in with the light the whole time (because I wanted to be able to turn it up at certain times). Then the driver efficiency is only important for the purpose of knowing what the driver is actually pushing to the strips/boards. So if the killawat (or equivalent device) reads 250w, then you know you’re at you’re ‘target draw’, and for interest sake you can multiply that by .94 (if the driver efficiency is 94%, e.g.) and then you know both the draw from the wall and the watts per strip. Sorry if that’s been said already... all the parts of it were said by different people, i just don’t remember anyone putting it quite like that, so thought I would, incase it clarifies anything :) And I know you have the other meter thing - I just like being able to plug in the $12 device and not have to calculate much: simples :D

Oh - and I remembered the other thing too... I also, like shed, wonder how those things work @SamSmith so maybe there are more folks in the world that wonder how you do that than you’d think :hmmmm:

Hope the rain has stopped Shed! :Namaste: Om ;)

:circle-of-love::circle-of-love::circle-of-love::circle-of-love:My love is with you.
You need to always be calm.. No anger or frustration... I know it is difficult :circle-of-love::circle-of-love:
Yeah it’s hard to deal with emotions being a good human is hard I don’t care brain , fame, money . It’s a choice we have to make at the end of day.

Spring chickens - All of you!

Hey Shed, I just posted this question over at newty’s too... and then I realised you also use jiffy pellets, or peat pucks (i think they’re the same thing).

Well I have some and am about to try them for the first time to germ some autos and follow your technique of peat puck into finish pot.

SO a few questions:

Should I loosen the mesh at the bottom as well? (Something about the taproot?)

Can I put the soaked seed directly into the puck? (I don’t like the paper towel step - so won’t do that)

What should they sit on, the pucks that is? Do i need to be mindful of them having air underneath?

Do you put anything in the water that you hydrate them with?

:Namaste:

I don't know what the "thing" is you're speaking of that we wonder about.
aggressive spraying of very mild foliar solutions
How oxymoronic! Is that better than mildly spraying aggressive foliar solutions :hmmmm:. LOL! Don't mind me...
Glad it's working!
‘90 here lol
Spring chicken is right. I was born in the late 50s.
peat pucks
Yes, all my seeds go in peat pucks, soaked in warm distilled water and then lightly squeezed out.
Should I loosen the mesh at the bottom as well? (Something about the taproot?)
Absolutely! I tear the entire bottom of the mesh away before I put in the seed, and I tear the rest away when I put it in soil.
Can I put the soaked seed directly into the puck? (I don’t like the paper towel step - so won’t do that)
That's how I do it, especially if I have a tap coming out in the bowl.
What should they sit on, the pucks that is? Do i need to be mindful of them having air underneath?
I just put mine in little ceramic dishes and use a plastic pipette to add water in the dish to get sucked up into the peat at they dry. A little around the outside as well.
Do you put anything in the water that you hydrate them with?
Nope, they're soaked in distilled water and that's all they get straight though the first few nodes. My Candidas are working on their 3rd set of leaves and I'm still going distilled.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!
Thanks! :D And thanks a bunch for all the guidance on using the pucks! I’m diving in today :thanks:

Ah - the foaming liquid soap dispensers that we now know @SamSmith is to be thanked for! :thanks:
oxymoronic
Yes quite. So the idea is you spray hard and everywhere and very often with a weaker solution, unlike when you’re using the foliars as feed, which I do lightly and only every 10days. So same foliars, different style of application.

Reminds me of my aggressive rest therapy (art ;)) where the rests themselves are short and gentle, but I take them with intense regularity and deep intent :Namaste:

Monday update! Very little to report this morning. I woke up late after a rough night with a migraine that started around 4pm and finally began to wane around midnight. I always feel like I've been beaten up the next morning after that. So all I managed to do was water the Blue Treacle 2. I'm upping the TDS now as we get closer to the final bulking period, and I'll watch for burned tips to see if I need to back off.

Into a gallon went:
½ tsp Pro-tekt
3 ml cal-mag+
1¼ tsp Tiger Bloom
3 tbs Big Bloom
2 tsp Terpinator

TDS was around 750 not including the water. I'm trying to run a little lighter in the winter as they don't get the same growth as they would in the spring and summer. Warmer days with longer and more direct sunlight would promote better growth, which should increase the need for nutrients.

I did get pics of the Candidas on day 12. They are pretty damn symmetrical I must say. Roots are growing well and I think that next watering I'll add ¼ strength nutes.

The fan on the right is not cut off (as you can see above), it just looks that way at that angle:

I dropped off a bunch of clones for Clone Boy yesterday. He replanted the Sour Gs that were doubled up as well as most of the pot o'AKs. I also gave him one of the two larger AKs (far right).

I did let him know to put the clear solo cups into regular ones to protect the roots.

I'm feeling fine today so that's a good thing. It's cloudy though so I put the CD-1s back on the heat mat under the CFL. Everything else is outside, including the big AK which I forgot to move into the bike shed last night due to the migraine. Oh well, I don't think it will burst into flower because of it!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I was supposed to install a new toilet last night but never got around to that either. My wife forgives me. It's not like there's just a big stinking hole in the floor :thumb:.
