InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Holy moly that's ballin! This community is amazing...

It's almost.. too good..

Lol can't wait to seem bud!

Your welcome shed! Make us proud

I'll do my best! I'm only going to do one seed for now (choices choices) so I have room for all 3 plants in the shed. Going with my regular germination method of sandpaper in the matchbox, then into bowl of warm distilled water until there's a tap root, then straight to peat puck 1" away from the CFL in the shoe box of babies. As soon as it breaks the surface it's into a small pot in the sun!

Yay, goodies!

Yay for sure! Be glad to get away from cloning for a while ;).

Just good enough. As soon as I get a sprout I will have to rename this journal.

:thanks: Roost!

Monday night folks and I've got a story to tell. Here's my evening:

I came home, had dinner, cleared the table, and that meant it was time to drop a Rooster Special seed in a bowl. I picked the Double Black x Sour D for no particular reason except that I liked the name. I got the matchbox with the sandpaper and dropped the seed in. I shook and shook and shook and while I was shaking I walked 3 feet to get scotch tape so I could tape the rest of the seed bags to the door of the fridge. I put the tape and the matchbox on the counter, but when I opened the matchbox, it was empty! What? How is that even possible? A second ago I could hear it shaking and then it's gone?

Figuring it must have flown out somehow I spent the next 45 minutes emptying the drawer where the tape was and dumping out the contents of every bag that was nearby and shaking out the doormat and the dog's bed and sweeping the kitchen and the dining room (which my wife found amusing because I don't normally sweep!) and the damn seed is nowhere to be found. Sorry Rooster! I really have no idea where it went. I saved the baggie though in case it miraculously turns up somehow. Ruined my evening I can tell you that.

Forlornly I went to another seed bag and got out a Sour D x Gorilla Bomb bean and put it in the matchbox. This time I stood still and held it tightly and slid it back and forth across the counter, never taking my eye off it. Then I carefully dropped the seed into a bowl of distilled water, slid it into the cheez-its box, and put it into the clone box, which won't be there long as the clones are practically dead.

Tomorrow morning I'll tap it and see if it sinks.

Grrr...I do not like when things don't go as planned :-(

Ahhh I knew from the beginning that was going to be a great read! It's not in your beard or shirt pocket right? Maybe in your shoe or behind your ear? Lol. I'm sorry shed. I may have 2 of those if you wanna try come spring.... black diesel we could call it?

I loved the package I saw it at the door and coco my head and just think, rooster? Haha. Too funny

I've really only got room for three at time so what I have left should last me a while, but I may come knocking at some point :).

Tuesday and it was still raining this morning so plants remain in the shed. I tapped the Sour D x Gorilla Bomb seed (now known as Sour G) and it came back to the surface, thought twice about it, and sank to the bottom! Hoping for some action tonight...

And it's back in the cheez-its box with the remaining clone in a glass. As soon as this seed sprouts I'm done with the box. It's been taking up floor space for months now and it's not living up to its potential!

I think Gold Leaf is starting to put out some new growth. It's looking a bit bushier. Thanks to all here who helped get that plant moving!

When the sun comes out tomorrow I'll get a side by side shot of the clones! I'm hoping Lucifer emerges soon...I want to ask him if the pump in his aero cloner keeps the water warm.

Rooster, outdid himself. :bravo:

Couldn't have gone to a more deserving clone-alienator (j/k) and super awesome guy, straight up. I love this community, it's better to see others receive, then you get to read the reaction, it's priceless.

ITS, that story about the seed, your words and energy was palpable. How many times I've done that, too many times to count, never leaving any rock unturned. The panic ensues, then to have your wife watch you is priceless. You gotta do whatcha gotta do to get the job done.

I always think of getting a black box, like when we used to remove film from cannisters in the photo labs, it would be perfect to handle seeds because it's an enclosed dust free black box you can lock. But it has hand holes with black light safe dark fabric to place into. I'm sure they're kickin' around vintage style since C-41 film is antiquated. :( I miss those days...:)

Your one clone who is standing tall, she's gonna make it I believe, if you don't pick her up...lol. j/k ;)

I actually was a photographer for many years and developed and printed all my own B&W film, but never needed one of those black bags because I had blackout shades for the tiny apartment I was in at the time :). I hope I still have the shades (30 years later) so I can use them in September to make sure the photoperiod plants are in 12 hours of darkness in the shed. Though they may have crumbled away as they were thin rubber as I recall.

I've got a few months to figure that out :).

Oh wow cool. I used to develop by hand in a gallery for an internship, then moved into the labs to develop FLIM, hahaha, I would always call it that. Another thing we have in common. What was your specialty? I think photographers have it tough now, digital world took over the industry, so it makes it harder to stand out. So I always love talking to photographers to see how they have adapted to the digital age, did you go digital SLR, is that even possible for oldschoolers. ;) I have yet to go that route. I still have my Pentax K-1000. good chat, gniiite.

I mostly did publicity and headshots, but I'd do corporate events and weddings too...anything to pay the rent!

I got out of the business before digital took over, but I still have my three bodies and all the lenses sitting in the camera bag under the bed. Two Nikons and a Canon. Somewhere back at my parents' apartment in NY is my original Pentax Spotmatic! I think I bought that in 1971 or so.

It's Wednesday and it's seed planting day. I'll get to that in a minute...first to the clones! Sun came out today so everyone got moved out to enjoy it.

Hard to believe these two were taken on the same day:

Here's a closeup of the Gold Leaf:

On to the Sour G seed, which not only had a tail this morning, but it had wrapped itself around the seed like an umbilical cord:

I couldn't decide which way was up with this tap root. First I put it in with the tail up but the open part of the seed down, but then I decided that the tap should be pointed down even though it was curled around so I took it out and dropped it in the other way. I wet it down with distilled water and put it into the...

I had the heat mat under it but it was climbing above 80° when I left so I unplugged it and just left the CFL on it for the day. I'll turn the mat back on tonight when it's colder in there:
