InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

I'm going to put that in my "save for later" amazon cart! I don't think I'll need to be cloning indoors until we get much deeper into winter.

Yeah they seem pretty rubbery to me though I feel like I read somewhere (like bobrown thought) that they were peat. Not if they come out of the compost bin like they went in! Since my success rate in the rooters was very small I'm not sure I'll be using them again.

Quick Tuesday update...

Note to self: keep track of when the Santa Ana's will be blowing if you are hanging harvested plants. o_O

Short story...I had no idea that the Santa Ana's were coming through this week, and when I got home last night, the ambient RH was 31% and in the shed where the AK was hanging it was 43%. Oy! So instead of not having to worry about when to take them down I had to jump into rehydrate mode!

I've read that you can't rehydrate dried buds. Evs. First I cut them off the stems and pulled off most of the dried fans:

Then I filled a bowl with boiling water and put it into a plastic bin and spread the buds out along the bottom:

I left them in there for about 30 minutes with the lid on while I made my dad's cookie dough and then dumped them into a cardboard box and closed it up. Two hours later I put them in jars for the night. 80% in there this morning :).

Back out of the jars and into the box with the lid off for two hours (kitchen smelled wonderful!) and back into the jars for the day. I'll have my wife check them when she gets home at 5:00 to see if they need to be dumped into the box again.

They seem rehydrated to me :thumb:.

Also, the AK -47 clone fell off the bench in the wind and bent a few branches.

Dear InTheShed, pay more attention to the weather report.

:Namaste:

You can re-hydrate then with a Boveda pack. They actually recommend the buds be a tad over dry before packing them so yours would be perfect.

I feel like 45% is really over dry! I haven't tested Boveda 62s with really dry bud but I have with damp bud, and for me it didn't suck out the moisture fast enough to not worry about mold. That's how I discovered Rice Balls (check my sig)!

So I think that it probably would be too slow to rehydrate as well. If it could even handle a 17% RH differential o_O.
I would surely kill something. Let me tell you. :(
Not yet! Other than clones and those don't get nutes ;).

Now, to the conversation I had with @Derbybud this spring about cola size, training, and pruning: my first AK came in with 59 tops and 178 grams total.

Yes I was there for that one. Had to build a damn bomb shelter and everything.

No kidding right! I actually found a seed in 1 large nug of the wedding cake soo your better believe it... DROPPED THAT BABY! Lol

She’s in a jiffy puck now! So fingers crossed she’s a good one and pops up strong and healthy!

I also just tried my hand at cloning ! Cut 5 clones from EM1 to see how it goes! So the Wedding Cake seed and 5 Clones are under a dome now under a CFL hood! See if I can’t get some roots popping out in a week or so! I used this rooting powder.

Wow Dutch I bet finding that wedding cake felt like hitting the lottery. I know I would.

Lol on the Descondida kush and cheese smelling terrible. Got to wonder if that how it protects itself in the wild. Curious how the peyote critical will smell. It's description said it repels pests and spider mite's with a forcefield? Wonder what kind of smell ='s a forcefield?

LMAO Kismet

The non cutting clone people probably are really master... idk lol. if you cut the leafs you prevent to much moist getting out of the leaf nerves. since the cutting dont have much rooting going on for water abosoption they dry out easy. if you cut them by half or so they are less likely to get dry or stressy of that.

Also cleaning the water regularly might help, not sure if you were doing that or not.

Using (root) nutes or clonex made mine burn easy... maybe i was to generous but i like to keep it as light as possible, the water that is.

I have a few clones of some Hot Greek oregano that I saved from this summer. They are all dying slowly but surely.

@ Shed: Nope. Are people laughing at me?
As you read posts, if you want to reply to something you click the Quote button next to the reply button. Then when you're done accumulating posts, the "Insert quotes..." shows up under the reply box. Click that and it puts all your quoted posts in the box and you just type in between each one.

You can even highlight a phrase and add just that the multi-quote!

See? First I laugh and then I instruct :).
You guys should be related for certain. Nutballs :goodjob:
