InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

I learnt that TT and ping pong are technically different games. In ‘proper’ Ping Pong the ball has to bounce on both sides of the net. It takes some practice but it’s a while other ball game. Im used to TT where it’s just like tennis on a table (except the serve of course). Not meaning to be pedantic (well I just am pedantic, but not because I mean to be :) ) - I was just surprised to learn that myself.
:Namaste:
Really? I had no idea! We just play like they do in the Olympics (the serve bounces on both sides) but with a lot less skill . Still, we call it ping pong because 'merica .

:thumb:

Encourage some sessions of proper ping pong ! Honestly it’s hilarious... cause it feels so weird o_O

My partner and I used to sometimes play left handed just for kicks too (or non-dominant handed ;) ). I haven’t played for more than 2 years... best not to think about that too much. :)

Heya bud,

Looking great and i love the cloninator! It might help to cut the leafs a little shorter. that way they wont vaporize alot of moist true the vains of the leaf. not sure if this is fine already, i personally do it a little more...

Hope all of them will fire as that one clone looks ready for a new home:cheer:

Thanks NS! I never know how short to cut them or whether to cut them at all. I've seen folks clone successfully with out a single leaf trim. I usually try for about half but I'm not really trying too hard :). And the small ones I usually leave alone.

They don't seem to be wilting after 19 days though so they're getting water from the spray, but the Sour G doesn't seem to be all that interested in rooting. Maybe the one in ProMix HP will put out some roots!

The non cutting clone people probably are really master... idk lol. if you cut the leafs you prevent to much moist getting out of the leaf nerves. since the cutting dont have much rooting going on for water abosoption they dry out easy. if you cut them by half or so they are less likely to get dry or stressy of that.

Also cleaning the water regularly might help, not sure if you were doing that or not.

Using (root) nutes or clonex made mine burn easy... maybe i was to generous but i like to keep it as light as possible, the water that is.

You know it Lowded!

For those interested, ping pong and table tennis were the same sport until 7 years ago, so if you missed the announcement, don't feel bad!

I'm using regular tap water for the bucket per Norcaliwood's instructions and I change it when it starts to feel different from when it came out of the hose (about once a week). So far I haven't seen any stress to the tops at all. I think I've had cuttings in the cloninator for 2 months before they looked sad. I know my lavender took 2 months to root in there.

ill get back to you on this one... im sure this get me in the middle of the night and we will find out why it takes 2 months to root them.., lavender is a little harder to root imo depending on the brench you cut. if its woody it takes way longer most of the times.

My backyard is like a freaking community center :thumb:
My worst nightmare lol

Been giving Sheds failure with the roots thought. Maybe hit them with some light nutes foliar feed after a week or 10 days? To get them more lively and making roots? Might help?

I know you can foliar spray with silica, can cal/mag be sprayed too? What kind of nutes were you thinking Kis?

Oh, I don't mind the kids hanging out here. They're all pretty respectful. When it became a 5-night-a-week thing over the summer...that was a problem!

I took cuttings the other day. I cut on a 45degree and then placed in water for 24hrs. Removed cutting from water scraped off bottom 1/2” of outer stem flesh and dipped in rooting powder. I then placed into jiffy peats soaked and then under the dome with water in the bottom of the tray. I have a cloning tray in there which allows water to sit in the bottom below the actual base of the jiffy’s! I spray them once in the morning and once at night. It has been 3says since I took the cuttings and they are all praying to the light and looking lovely and green like nothing even happened. No roots yet but I am keeping my eyes open, I’m expecting to see them hopefully within a week!

Here are the babies currently ! Looking lovely girls! Come on roots !

Great discussion gang! Thanks busted for all the visual on root systems...very easy to understand that way :thanks:.

I always open the top and bottom of the peat pellet when I plant a seed in it. The bottom to prevent the tap root from breaking when I TAKE THE COVER OFF WHEN I PUT IT IN SOIL! I have seen too many pics of restricted roots stuck in peat pucks to leave them on. No harm in removing the covering, and better safe than sorry.

You may be out a bunch of dollars busted. There are loads of experienced growers here with 100% success rates germinating in paper towel. I'd guess it's more temperature that is the problem with that method than anything in the paper towel.

Distilled water for me until I see fade on the cotyledons. Then weak grow nutes.

Cracking Sunday everyone! Let's see what's happening on the left side of the bike shed this morning. You may recall that when I took cuttings on Sept 30th. I dipped one each of Sour G and AK-47 in Dip'n Grow and stuck those two in ProMix HP in solo cups. Here is what I found this morning on the AK-47:

Well what do you know! Here is the top of it, and it will live uncovered now:

The Sour G isn't showing me root(s) yet, but here is the top...anyone see new growth in there? It's keeping its lid on for now:

And rather than just lift the lid on the cloninator to peek at the ends of the stems, I pulled each one out individually to inspect for root bumps. I didn't find any, but I did see this on another AK-47 cutting!

Two for six in there this go round so far:slide:.

I saw A Star Is Born last night and recommend it even if you didn't like the Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristofferson version. I'm off to a birthday barbecue and the sun is out so I hope everyone has a great Sunday in store.

:Namaste:
Catching up again Shed....look at you go with those clones man! I am proud of you brother! I knew you had it in ya!

So far my cuttings are looking great and perky ! I don’t want to call them clones until I actually see roots and get them into my promix pots that I have ready!

I also have a Wedding Cake seed that I dropped the other day really hope it comes up too! It’s from the bag that my NOTM photo is from! Some amazing bud!

Just nitrogen really?
Maybe a liitle worm tea or fish emulsion might help?
Only thing I have that's straight N is cal/mag+.

Thanks Van! I never would have kept at it if not for the support of the folks here.
Foliar feed super light ?
Don't have any of that. I'd rather not keep throwing money at roots if the Sour G is the issue.

Oh, you have something in the contests too?

Sorry, I have to disagree a little more intensely now. Show me any great teacher/ comedian and I'll show you someone who understood the concept of keeping the audience on it's toes by varying the intensity of the sudden accelerations and stops unexpectedly without warning and at unexpected places so they learn to grip the reigns and pay attention instead of giving them time to daydream and look out the windows on a boring journey.

Another thing they know is when to ring the bell or thank the audience.

I've installed more than ample road hazard signs throughout, I've put them before, during and after. Don't try suing me for your lack of ability to take responsibility, my lawyers are better at cross. This is a General Statement, not directed at anyone, but since I have everyone's attention I'll throw it out there. I may be a NEWB here, but I've had some go-rounds on some knucklehead music forums that would have most seeking cover. Don't be fooled by the wit and looks, the whole book by its cover thing for those I've left behind. Sorry, one of my biggest pet peeves, no one take it personal.

On that note, class dismissed, you've been a wonderful audience. Have to prepare for next class/ show and it's all the way in the next wing/city.

:peace::Namaste:
o_O:hmmmm: Anyways....moving on

Van Stankenstein when you foliar feed your clones? I do at some point usually? @Van Stank
I give my clones a little spray every day under their leaves. Not a lot..just a little (rain water with clonex solution not gel). Clones seem to love it.
