fireFinal harvest update of the 2024 Summer grow! And for the big finale, more pictures of a tiny plant than it deserves.
Yesterday (Tuesday) was day 94 above ground for The Wizard auto. It got off to a slow start and remained at that pace through the entire grow. I topped it when it first went into flower, to no avail.
Here it was on Tuesday morning:
It had completely stopped drinking so I prepped it for washing:
Ready to dunk:
And drip dry:
The 2 minute trim, which included about a dime's-sized area of bud rot (moisture related because of how tightly the buds were packed):
I cut the three lowest buds off the stems and split the top ones apart so they could hang dry:
I hung the split ones on the lowest line in the box (with the Purple Ghost Candy) and put the loose ones on the bottom.
As promised, here are the roots:
They're all off to one side for some reason:
And that wraps up the Summer grow. I really appreciate you all hanging around for the ride, and I hope you'll continue to be here during the quieter fall and winter happenings. As I mentioned to Professor Flora, I'll be trying to germinate some 30 year old Afghani reg seeds using ethylene from rotting fruit. We'll see!
for sticking around.
Quotes:
I have absolutely no idea. I have tried adjusting their feeding over the years, tested the pH of the soil, changed up how I handle pests and PM, but I've been unable to get my plants to hang onto their lowers after stretch.
The only thing I haven't tried is not schlepping them.
Indeed!
Har! I would love to blame MrS, but it happened even when I ran Rx Blend nutes by their instructions. However, those plants were not grown my standard way (one in a SWICK-ish, one in SIP that got replanted into a cloth pot). I still have one set of Rx Blend nutes left so I'll run that next summer to see if anything changes.
I was hoping he relocates the little girl. We cant get them around here right now.Ha! That little cutie had her own ladybug!
She's gonna' be fire, I just know it!
Thanks Scottay, and a happy Monday! The weekend was a lot of college football, making bread for a Sunday brunch, and the Chiefs game. Not too bad especially if I wasn't missed too badly. And a happy Friday to you Shedster!! Any good weekend plans buddy?
Thanks Jiggi, but I'm definitely not a champion grower or I'd have lower fan leaves to pull off at harvest! It still blows my mind that you haven't gotten 'stoned' my whole lifetime.. and you grow like a champion.
IKR? Thanks Otter, but for those of us who are finished we still have your trees to admire well into Fall!Another super successful summer season Shed! How'd it go so fast!?
Thank you Marcus, and I guess we'll get some idea in a month or so.fire
She was already gone when I washed it, so my guess is it headed over to the Candida mother. Not sure it can make the journey all the way to your backyard.I was hoping he relocates the little girl. We cant get them around here right now.
Only around harvest time.Jesus shed, came to this thread wanting to ask you about your CJ harvest and I was 10 pages behind on the catch-up.. this journal moves at the speed of sound.
I had it in the box with the dehuey off and on for a week, and now it sits around 68% in the bag. I'll get it down to 62% over the next week and then jar it up for curing:Anyways, how's the cap Junky coming along on drying bro?
Thanks Tim! They smell great too, and coming back into the house after being outside is a real treat.Congrats on the harvest Shed! PGC and CJ look great!
I'll let you know in early November.Regarding the little one, be curious on your thoughts on its potency. I had an Orange Sherbert that wasn't much larger and it got me.higher than I have been in 10 years
Thanks GDB!Nice bags of bounty Shed!
Looks like it might be real so I have my fingers crossed for you. And now I'm rooting for the Commanders to win against everyone but the Chiefs.BTW, my team scored 41 points in a win and we now have a Grade-A quarterback. I keep waiting to hear Rod Serling chime in!
Thank you N! Now I schlep the bags in and out of a dresser drawer. I guess that's my Fall exercise routine.Nice to see all the summer schlepping has paid off with a nice collection of buds in bags!
LOL the ping pong table is just my giant work surface outside since it's the only table out there. It's usually playable. So if all the Candida cuttings root is that the end of the road for the mother? If that is the case the good news is you’ll be able to play ping pong again.
Do you root for an NHL team or someone in the CHL? I've never followed hockey, though from the highlights is looks like UFC on skates. Is that about right? Not much of a football guy myself, I’m your stereotypical Canadian that’s excited the hockey season is starting soon!
Thanks sb! 9-10 oz from a 70-73 day veg would be an excellent result. I hope to have a CapJunky weight by this weekend so we'll see how that one goes.Nice haul looks like 9-10 ozs. and the seeds came out really nice looking !!
Can't fault you for going with a proven winner, and an exciting team to watch to boot!Looks like it might be real so I have my fingers crossed for you. And now I'm rooting for the Commanders to win against everyone but the Chiefs.
Old one-liner: "I went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out."I've never followed hockey, though from the highlights is looks like UFC on skates. Is that about right?
Thanks Ke0ncp! Next up will be trying to germinate some 30 year old Afghani reg seeds that smokesbetter dropped off at my house a while back. I'll be using bananas (and maybe other ethylene producing fruits) to up the chances of germination.Nice!!! Great harvest!! What’s up next???
there Afghani from a big grow back in 1994-95, we had 88 plants at that time and some/ most cross over to the other side but was still very strong . as far as I know it is pure with no other breeding other than its self .
Thanks Carcass, and I'm glad you had a chance to catch up on the harvests! The plants were definitely a bit smaller than usual (easier to schlep) but I may go even smaller next year depending on how many jars these two (three ) turn out to be. I don't want to always have to rely on Tad to take the overflow.Congrats on a productive season, Shed!
I missed some of it, but I went back and checked the harvests out-
Plenty of weed to keep the all smokers smokin', and the vapers vaping for a good while...
Even the little Wizard made a sizeable contribution.
I do the New York RangersDo you root for an NHL team
The CHL is a couple of steps below the NHL, I’d equate it to college football in an NFL perspective. The CHL is where the younger players age 15-18 years old play to prepare for a possible move to the NHL.someone in the CHL?
It can be like that, fighting was more prevalent 20 years ago not as much now but it still definitely happens!I've never followed hockey, though from the highlights is looks like UFC on skates. Is that about right?
If I was a hockey fan growing up that would have been my team.I do the New York Rangers
Oh like a feeder league, gotcha. The CHL is a couple of steps below the NHL, I’d equate it to college football in an NFL perspective. The CHL is where the younger players age 15-18 years old play to prepare for a possible move to the NHL.
It's the fights that make the highlight reels! It can be like that, fighting was more prevalent 20 years ago not as much now but it still definitely happens!
Thanks Otter! They're available for folks interested in growing them. I'll drop them off...Awesome seed making!
