InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Oh no! Holding thumbs that it remains mild
Thank you Carmen. 🫰
Bounce back quick! Had it - didn't like it!
Oof sorry to hear that BuzzzD. :( I hope this passes quickly!
Hey bro there’s a medicine for Covid that is supposed to help but you have to take it in the first few days. Just in case you get to feeling worse. CL🍀
Got a call into my doctor's office to see if they want to put me on Paxlovid or just have me ride it out. Thanks Captain!
I hope your Covid is mostly a nothing burger and wish you a speedy recovery!
Thank you GDB! Hard to believe I kept it at bay for nearly 3 years.
Get well dude. Sure you will be ok in a day or two. (Note this does not constitute medical advice, and I am not a licensed medical practitioner at all)
LOL understood. Thanks Nick!
Got me to to thinking though.
There is snow from California to Canada right now. Cali more famous for red/white wine. Canada for “Ice Wine” originally German I think.
This is where its frozen on the vine, naturally by the environment (it snows!)
Dessert wines so very sweet typically.
Anyone know if this has been tried with weed?
Specifically pre chop. Still in root. Not chop and freeze - more “on the vine” as it were! What I could find seemed to suggest basically killing the fruit with cold was what encouraged this flavour and freezing weed wasn’t so great.
Shed, anyone!
What do you reckon? Fruit/flower different of course but yeah I can think a way of doing it here. For a small sample size. Say a single decent cola.
Any thoughts?
Or too off the wall?
Nick (Just really wants to play with super fast freezing and gas) & Co
So you want to flash freeze the plant just before harvest, and then at some point thaw it and smoke it to see how the flavors compared to the un-flash-frozen clone? I don't imagine it will have the same effect as on fruit but if you have the space and equipment (and you definitely have the plants!) we will all be watching it happen!
I say go for it and let us know bro. CL🍀
For sure! He's already got so much going on that I can't see &Co minding this experiment. :)

Hope you're feeling better soon Shed!

When the grapes freeze the sugars are concentrated, and what comes out when they're pressed is more like a syrup rather than juice.
You need temps down to -9C (I think) to harvest the grapes to make it.
I don't remember if they were able to make it this year. It wasn't the usual winter. If they couldn't it would be the first time since production began.
I live a nice 30 minute drive from Ontario wine country.
They make some really nice wines here.
I guess someone could try taking something like Amnesia Haze or Old-timers Haze through until the cold kills it. Harvest at night when the temps are below freezing.

Thanks Melville!

I’m thinking like a “blast” freeze. Put a cola in a box and frozen to cryo levels in an hour two.

Hans “Solo” Style.

Thw sugars in fruit bearing plant (grape) versus flower and their conversion and interplay with active agents in the finished product probably is what it comes to terms of is there any point. DIY blast freezing looks far from straight forward.

Its not 7am and its 28 degrees. Centigrade. So freezing is not straight forward.. 😅

Just tested positive for Covid. 😯
Get well soon.

You did so well dodging it for years.
Hopefully you got Covid Lite.
I think there are as many versions now as there is MC.

Seriously tho...
Take care , dear.

Sorry to hear it finally got you, Shed- I hope it's a mild case, and you're good as new in a week or so👍

My last bout with the C-bag my md was reluctant to prescribe Paxlovid as my BP meds had a clash. I plan to have a conversation with him if I get it again. My question now is. What's worse, the irregular heart beat I get from covid or having slightly elevated BP for the short time on PLovid. What's wrong with over medicating for bp for a week? I wish I had the presence of mind to have talked with him back then!
You know the drill my brother.🐤🥣🚰

Here's an 11:24 pm Pacific time Saturday night update with just a couple of pics of each of the winter grow in flip day 48.

Here's the Amnesia Lemon Kush:

And still the problem Le Creme CBG:

@Azimuth said his LeC did the same thing at this stage so that makes me feel a little better about it, but I'd still like to solve it before harvest! I'm not sure I've got enough days left to do that though.

They were out for a bit of sun today and tomorrow looks to be the same. At least I'm home to move them when the clouds roll in.

Stay safe out there folks!

No. I think you'll need mechanical support. ;)
Get well soon.
Hope so! Lost my sense of smell and taste last night just before dinner and a little tight across the chest today, but I started Paxlovid last night around 8pm so I hope it shuts the damn thing down.

Thank you Carcass, less than a week would be even better. :)

Luckily I'm not on any regular meds (yet!) so my doc didn't hesitate to call in the Rx. She said over 65 (even by a couple of weeks) is reason enough to start it. Now I've got the metallic taste side effect (I can taste that for some reason!) but I don't mind it if it'll help.

It's definitely a conversation to have if it happens again, which I sure hope it doesn't!
Get well soon brother
Thanks sb!

And still the problem Le Creme CBG:
My adopted native american grandfather Rainbow Fox, RIP, would say the top leaves are showing their glorious color to the Creator above first, then us as she turns color lower down. Her part to spread joy to all. On this plant I'd have to agree! No religious intentions. I just like the simpleness of it. That's how trees do it in fall.

Hi Shed, finally got around to adding your journal to my weekly digest, that Lemon Amnesia Kush is making my mouth water!!

I hope your feeling better soon mate, sending recovery vibes! :green_heart:

Sorry to hear you got Covid, Shed. I think the Paxlovid helped me a lot. I had that metallic taste side effect and as far as I was concerned, it was the symptom I hated the most because nothing took away that taste. Thank god it didn't last. I hope you feel better soon. :hugs:

How long is the paxlovid course HashGirl?

Thank you Otter. I will keep Rainbow Fox's words in mind every time I look at the LeC.

Thanks Weff! I'd love to tell you it still smells like lemon when I rub the stem but I have absolutely no idea. 👃 🚫

Also, :welcome: to my perpetual grow journal!
hope your feeling better soon mate, sending recovery vibes!
Appreciate that, and I'm definitely feeling a bit better today. Too bad it's raining!

Thank you HG! I can deal with the metallic taste if it means better recovery. That side effect wanes close to the time of the next dose so I don't expect it to linger much beyond the course, but no taste or smell apparently can take weeks or months to return. I hope to be an anomaly!

Sorry you got the Rona bro. Get well quick.
I had a nasty cold (or something) a few weeks ago. I upped my intake of vitamin D and C, and also zinc. Over it in two weeks.

If you need help with anything give me a shout - I'm close by.

Thanks for that Grateful! I'm glad to hear you're all recovered and I'm hoping to be feeling better soon. I do C and D every day but don't have any zinc on hand. Might have to head over to Amazon for that...

Glad they hooked you up with the Rx... my primary won't prescribe it.

The flowers are looking great even on the LeC... and as someone wise once told me we're not growing for the leaves

My doc said "Over 65? That's enough to write the prescription." I said but that was just a couple of weeks ago! But if it will prevent complications and the possibility of long Covid, I figured I can deal with this metallic taste.

Too bad that's all I can taste, and I can't smell a damn thing. :(

Thanks stardawg, this one sure isn't!
