Happy Monday everyone! Sun is coming out a little earlier lately, so less May-Grey and more May-be the plants can get some serious lux.
Busy weekend as I mentioned with the plants, documentary, and the taxes, so here is the pic-filled weekend update.
Starting with the transplant of the
Chiquita Banana from
WSE on day 25:
I fed it the equivalent of 3g of MC and it seems happy today. Pics of the Summer grow tomorrow, but back to yesterday when it was time to mix the Silver Thiosulfate.
Chris suggested using half the amounts recommended since you end up with a lot either way, so that's what I did. Here is the recipe I followed:
Part A: 250ml distilled water / .25g Silver Nitrate
Part B: 250ml distilled water / 1.25g Sodium Thiosulfate
Take 25ml of Part B and mix in 25ml of Part A. Add 450 ml distilled water to get 500ml of STS mix. That's what gets sprayed on the plant every 4 days until you see the pollen sacs are pretty well set.
It will kill the plant if it gets on the roots, hence the paper plate (which I covered in packing tape to make it waterproof):
Sunday was spray day 1 and Thursday comes next. I'll spray it in the shade and move it into the sun once it dries.
What else? How about thinning? Here are before and after pics of the plants that got thinned. Sorry I didn't have a chance to shoot them against a white background to make it easy to see what's gone, but I was running out of daylight.
Seed Candida:
Mother Candida:
Red Dragon:
Tin Can Kush:
All the cuttings on the heat mat:
There are two in each cup, so four total from each plant. New Dip'n Grow and 50/50 soil/perlite. We'll see!
Last for the day are the noise-makers just above the door to the shed. Not sure if you remember a couple of years ago I had a pair of
Black Phoebes that built a nest, but abandoned it before the babies were born. Well they (or another pair) are back, and there are at least three little ones in the nest crying for food all the time:
The parents are very skittish so I try to stay away from that corner of the backyard as much as I can, but since the Spring two are in the shed at night they do have to put up with some humans.
I hope your weekend was packed with carbon capture/clutch-filled dreams, and that the week ahead brings a sense of peace and relaxation!
On to the quotes:
They don't seem to mind. Beautiful plants. Have a great weekend!
Thank you MrS! It would have been better if I had a chance to nap, but on the plus side, everything that I needed to accomplish got accomplished. Phewf!
Boy am I glad to hear it’s not just me! They are looking beautiful and ready to go!
Veg-timing issues abound.
Thanks double H!
Me and mom got our second shot yesterday. After work today was just exhausted came home and passed out for 4 hours. So yeah be prepared for fatigue roughly 15 hours after you get the second dose. Veg girls look great. Looking forward to see how the Red Dragon flowers out. Looking up the genetics on your Tin Can kush because I'm nosy like that.
Thanks Kis and congrats on shots #2 to you and mom! The TCK genetics (bred by Grandpa and named by Otter) are Golden Goat x Tahoe OG Kush.
tent is looking good shed.
Thanks bluter!
should add my pops is retired and doesn't have to deal with it anymore
He does have to deal with your flower room, and sometimes that's also a challenge.
Marking my place as to not keep reading the same thing
Excellent idea!
