InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Got a Question ,, are most or all CBD plant male ? I purchase from from a place in Oregon NC at really good prices and most time the buds have seeds .. Thanks
You’re taking about buying the buds and finding seed in it? If that’s right then I’d say - that’s why it’s so cheap. CBD plants are just the same in every other way as all cannabis. Grown well (properly) it shouldn’t seed.

Hey Shed! Plants are looking splendid as always. :thumb:

I've got a noob question for you that I hope you could maybe shed some light on (pun intended but it's not my best work). I'm about to re-up on nutrients and can't seem to find what differences there are between Soil A+B nutes and Veg/Bloom nutes. Are A+B solutions for covering your bases while Veg/Bloom are more specific to each stage? It's probably pretty simple but I'm just confusing myslelf. :hmmmm:

Without knowing the brands I'm thinking it's just a way of masking the fact that they're designed for cannabis. A+B are either another way of saying veg and flower, or they're created for blending at various stages like dyna-grow nutes are. The NPK ratios of each should tell you what they're designed for.

It's a brand called Top Crop which I think is based here in Spain. Both the A+B and Veg/Bloom are from the same brand. The A+B is for blending together and listed as Nitrogen 3.5%, Potassium 3.5-4.2%, Calcium 2.8%, Magnesium 0.6-1%, Iron 0.04%, Phosphorus 3.5%, Boron 0.01%, Copper 0.003%, Zinc 0.015%. The NPK of the Veg is 9-4-8 and Bloom is 4-8-9. I would send you a link but I'm not sure how your Spanish is. :laughtwo:

No better than it was after 4 years of high school classes :).

It reads like the A+B blend doesn't give you the ratios you need for cannabis, where the Veg and Bloom ones would be closer. It turns out that cannabis needs more K in flower than it does P. The Bloom is closer but not where I think it should be.

Haha, no worries amigo. :laughtwo:

I know, right? The A+B seems pretty low on everything to me. :hmmmm:

I've still got plenty of 0-14-15 that's supposed to be a bud fattener, maybe that will help boost the much needed K.

High Shed. Can you use any of those products on a plant in flower to make some nanners? This is the last run for my supply of GH nutes and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with mc this time. Do you know if you have to use some kind of additives to maximize flowering? Thanks and stay stoneder.

Is that two different questions Fred? I'm going to take them that way...

Once the plant is in flower it's too late to reverse them to males. You could try leaving some buds on the plant well past the normal harvest date and see if it will produce nanners (and pollen) as some do in a last ditch attempt to reproduce.

I run straight MC with no flowering additives and I get a good return on my investment per plant. Some folks think that adding extra P and K will boost harvest, but as I've mentioned before, you can't force a plant to take up nutrients just by adding them to the medium. Plants take what they need and leave the rest, and an imbalance of nutes will create more problems than it will ever solve.

As long as you have healthy plants that don't show deficiencies, they will be doing the best they can.

Okay, last question (for now)...

Having saved 10 bucks on the Bloom nutes, I now need to find something else to spend it on to get free delivery. So I was wondering if you have any experience with predatory mites? These ones are Swirski mites and I read that they're great at getting rid of all sorts of pests like thrips, whiteflies, spider mites (and I'm hoping fungus gnats). I'm really just wondering if there's any downsides to using them?
