In The Lab

When I asked you about 2nd run amendment when I ordered my bulk kit you're response was:

There is no 2nd run amendment. There is, however, a 3rd run amendment.....but no 3rd run recharge. You're good to go.

I see what you were saying now. My apologies for my confusion.

I read this, and it says "No 3rd run recharge"..

I've already got a detailed price list....and

A bulk kit plus 3rd run recharge will get you through 4 runs....

The most current instructions are "stickied" in my signature. Always have been. They'll be on the website of course.

So, your wishes and suggestions are already in place!

Thanks!

And then I read this about 3rd run recharge, and now am a bit confused. But hey it was an extremely long night at work, could be me.

A link isn't a sticky. You missed the point of a sticky in the forum that doesn't require finding a post by you with that link. Have you looked at your signature lately? "How To Use..." is buried in the middle. At the very least make it a different color. Thank you.

A bulk kit isn't affordable for everyone.

The Paypal side of things is open kinda.....but it might be best to wait just a few more days. Also, I'm going to run a 420 special for December.

If you're desperate, the "old" way works fine, but very soon we'll do everything via the website.

Oh...those of you that have lab reports of High Brix Produce, please contact me if you're willing to post them (sans name and personal info of course) on the website. Obviously there will be some incentive/reward for those who do!

Thanks Doc, well I tried your site out yesterday... thats why I asked. I ordered some Transplant, then realized, oh shit... this may not even be all the way up yet.
Just incase, and maybe to make it easier on the web design guys... I noticed when you click on a product, you only have the option to purchase. I was thinking there should be a way to just add to cart so its easier to continue shopping. Or, put a back to shopping button in the cart area...Sorry couldn't resist.

You can actually add to cart. Just go and purchase it then as its in cart. Back out 2 pages back to main page where you can select different fluid and admenments and add next thing and continue until all is added to cart. Not the most easy thing to do but it works

Well thats what I mean... no add to cart button. Its kinda a pain, also what would be great... for regular users... is have it where when you hover over the product on the main page... a list of the size options for that product pop up along with an add to cart button beside each said product size... lotta work for the web guys probably, but would be very fluid and convenient.

Very true but think about the more work doc puts out to have a great website etc the more the costs for the product may come up as well.

Good point.

I sell it for as little money as I possibly can. There is a math barrier at some point.

65 bucks a run, seed to harvest ain't bad, Sue.

It's better than "...ain't bad." Doc, and that was never my contention. I'm standing at the front of the line agreeing with you, but I'm also a 64-year old woman living on a pension, and bulk kits don't fall into my budget without lots of advance planning. I'm running a medicinal grow on a shoestring budget, and that makes your system even more attractive, but pricing of bulk supplies is a new world for me.

Give me time boys. I'll catch up. :battingeyelashes:

It would be helpful if your instructions mentioned that there are two different amendments needed if you're going to recycle soil, the regular amendment that is added for the first and second-run soils and the 3rd run amendment, a seperate mix of minerals for that last run.

I looked at it like this. Back when I used conventional nutes I'd spend shit loads of money of nutes them selves. Super thrive $100,Big bud $75 dollars, part a&b $150, cal mag $50,b52 80$ etc a grow( there were shit loads more just can't remember off hand). And then testers ph meter 150$ ppm meter $300. My testers alone cost just about as much as bulk kit. Yes kit is a bit more but I get to reuse this soil and don't need testers anymore. I just ordered a bulk kit with all quarts in most stuff except for transplant and GE in gallons and cost me less then my old nutes just for one grow. My stuff now will last 4 grows and then probably only need to order admenments

This is from the latest directions. I believe it covers all you suggestions?

Recycling Soil

After the first crop is harvested, put the soil, including the roots, mixed with fresh EWC, perhaps 20 lbs worth along with another bag of amendment back into the barrel and cook it for another month, then use as always.

After the second crop is harvested, take that soil, and add the 3rd Run Amendment to this soil, along with some leaf scraps from recently harvested healthy plants and a light sprinkling of Roots! on the leaves. Let this cook for a month and then use as always.

After the 3rd crop has been harvested from the soil, add fresh, unused Promix along with leaves and a light dusting of roots and re-cook.

I personally do not use soil after the 4th run. Others do so with good success and I suggest seeking them out and seeing if their methods work in your garden. I get my best results with the 3rd run of soil.

How could I say that more clearly?

Exactly. Growing healthy, clean produce isn't expensive! I'm well aware of the prices of my competitors.....and I pretty much blow them away.

Thanks for noticing.

Sue,...you are mistaken,..please read the directions,..Doc has explained things very clearly there , as well as in his posts here !
He has painstakingly gone over the directions many , many times to make them as clear as possible. It's all there ,..you just have to re read them OK! Sue , you have had many , many months to get these things cleared up and Doc. has been very , very patient with people who have difficulty understanding the 'kit' directions. IMO this system is the most rewarding , affordable , easy to 'get' there is , bar none. His pricing is , as he says ...very fair and where else can you get expert advise and help?
There are many reasons i have chosen to back this system...just refer back to my 'kit' grows....hard to argue. The return from such a small investment is staggering for what it costs to obtain his 'kit' and all the coaching and help he provides.
Cheers ...:high-five:

Mineral Amendments

Amendment: this product is mixed into the bale of Promix, watered, and allowed to "cook" in a barrel for a minimum of 30 days in order to get the soil ready for planting.

Adding in "There are two different amendments you'll need if you plan to recycle soil as recommended. The base amendment is added to both the initial soil and the cooking second-run soil. Order enough to cover both runs. The 3rd run amendment is a different mineral mix that is added following the second run." or something to that effect will clear up a lot of confusion.

Gentlemen, you're speaking to a woman who knew nothing about cannabis except that I handed over my money to my dealer and took what he gave me without question. Before I showed up here, intent on growing to keep my husband high until he finally died, I knew nothing about cultivating cannabis, or anything else, for that matter. This world we all take for granted was completely unknown to me. This system was my very first introduction to using bottles to grow healthy plants, and my dallying with hempy is showing me just how cost effective Doc's system is.

I'm preparing to put out a rediculous amount of money for bottled nutrients for the hempy side of my grow and the savings Doc brings me has hit home in the most obvious way. I'm seriously considering shifting the entire grow back to soil alone following the harvest of the hempy plants I now have running. This comparison was part of the goal of this installment of my grow.

I'm in an unusual position of having gotten to this point and not having to do all the research others do to decide what they use, or put out the money necessary to acquire supplies. Things come to me when I need them. The initial kit I used came to me, and I was admittedly intimidated by it. I've been catching on to this HB cultivation art all along.

I haven't been faced with the cost of bottled nutrients until just now. I won the ones I'm using in the last MOTY, but that cost just became mine and I'm not pleased with it. Believe me, I understand that the kit is the way to go. I'll just continue to order piecemeal until I have enough saved up to get a bulk kit.

Sue, could you please be more specific as to what editing needs to be done? The kit directions are not a product list....but rather an attempt to give direction on how to use the products initially.

Are you saying you'd like to see the 3rd run amendment mentioned more often? When giving directions to a first time user, would it not be more confusing to talk about recycling the soil months later before the first bale has been mixed or cooked?

My thinking was to cover it in Soil Recycling.....which I did.

Do you really think it would clear up confusion by mentioning it more often?

BTW, it is listed as a product on the webpage.

I think Sue is trying to help out Future users by giving them
a clearer understanding of what the FULL cost of the kit would
be when used to its full potential, it’s a little disappointing to
find out later you need to order more products if you’re not
expecting the added cost, not saying the cost is high just
need to be aware of it

Maybe just a quick note saying additional products are
required for Second & third run use

SIDE NOTE: I did not see an option to purchase a bulk kit only
single
