In The Lab

Gazoo, Sue didn't just start using the 'kit', she's been around it , here for several months and has been using it for several months. You bring up a good point however refering to second and third runs and about the 'bulk kit'. I'm sure Doc will add those new points 'in'. remember , we are his people, and he very much values our opinions and suggestions. he has made several improvements , additions and lengthened the directions many times over the last 6 yrs. or so just to make it even easier to understand.
Great stuff Gazoo...

I think Sue is trying to help out Future users by giving them
a clearer understanding of what the FULL cost of the kit would
be when used to its full potential, it’s a little disappointing to
find out later you need to order more products if you’re not
expecting the added cost, not saying the cost is high just
need to be aware of it

Maybe just a quick note saying additional products are
required for Second & third run use

SIDE NOTE: I did not see an option to purchase a bulk kit only
single

Thank you Gazoo. :hugs:

This is my intent Doc. As a new grower I wasn't aware of the additional costs ahead. Say all you want that I needed to do more research and study, but to be honest, at the time I was more concerned with keeping my husband alive as well as high, and when I started with the kit I was about as scattered as I could be with the weight of grief.

I'm not an isolated case. A large portion of our grows are medicinal in nature, not so different from the frantic life I once led. To all of you this seems redundant, but to someone like me it would have made the transition to the kit easier had the instructions mentioned that the basic kit needed additional purchases to use the soil community to its fullest potential.

Guys, before I came here I didn't even read High Times. Not everyone here understands the craft when we come in. Some of us are incredible naive. We deserve to grow with this kit too, and there are small tweaks in the message that would make so much difference.

Great stuff Gazoo...

I'm coming up on two years Duggan, but not all of it devoted to the kit. What I am is an example of how successful the kit can be with someone as scattered as I can sometimes be.

But let's not be shy boys. I've grown some damn beautiful girls with this kit. I've been doing it wrong from the beginning. I accept the full responsibility for those missteps, and I'm going to do all I can personally to keep someone else from following in my erroneous footsteps.

The message needs tweaking. I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm the one bold enough to stand here and keep talking until you hear what I'm trying to say.

Would you all prefer I step aside and figure this out on my own?

No way, Keep up the good fight I am positive Many Future users (along with myself)
will surly benefit. Lets never stop trying to improve this, the Kit is worth the effort
and with just a little re-wording it can be made even easier for us Hard Headed ones

Thank you both.

We all used to be of the opinion that is was easy. Many people won nug of the month and grew incredible stuff on their first try.

What has changed from a year ago when it was simple and easy to now?

The directions had one minor update.

I know I was teaching a lot more 2 years ago, perhaps I need to get back to more of that. Darksxotia's should be helpful.

Then we can see it as well as read it.

Hello?? I just won NOTM with a bud grown in your kit soil. The system works, even when you get it wrong. This is good news for me and that bud that won the prize, since it was grown in the soil I tossed because that plant developed a virus. I proved unfortunately that it's also easy to get it wrong.

From the beginning I was misusing the Transplant, and I wasn't alone. We now understand that snafu and have made adjustments. I know my plants are happier. I believe you'll see similar happy feelings from your customers if you modify the instructions to reflect that the kit will fuel one cycle but the soil community you're growing will give superior results for at least three cycles. Three cycles will require the purchase of the kit and two additional amendments.

Now going in I know I need to have the supplies on hand for two more cycles. This may seem obvious to all of you, but believe it or not, so much wasn't obvious to me.

Thanks Doc,

Perfect, this gives me a chance to try and convey
a big part of what I think may be the reason why some of
Us new users are having difficulty.

FIRST
NOT COMPLAINNG The Kit, Doc the Community are ALL working
better than any other Group or Product I have used in the past

I am a relatively New user.
(Over a year reading before first attempt).

But Please take into account the following obstacle
New users now have to negotiate

I gave it my personnel best attempt to Read and Understand
the 13,000 + posts.

I am a SELF-HELP kinda guy so I look there for the answers
first

BUT all these Threads are posted in REAL-TIME order.
Probably 100’s if not 1000’s of different Users posting today and
then getting an answer 3 pages later, The answers are sometimes
wrong, sometimes Right and sometimes never answered WE the
new users coming in COLD and trying to understand in a few months
what took 6 years to post Its a LOT to decipher.

I know the next point will be to just follow the directions, but
as a New User no matter how CLEAR the Instructions are they
do not cover every circumstance or problem.
SO I try self-help and ATTEMPT to find the problem among 13,000 +
posts and hope I did not miss the CORRECTION that could of been
posted 3 weeks later.:)

Anyway I hope this Helps

AGAIN I am NOT COMPLAINING
only trying to answer the question
how we are getting confused

I'm doing a realtime, seed to harvest journal that will demonstrate everything.

I think you'll see that its really pretty simple!

As for cost projections for subsequent grows, that sounds like the genesis if a FAQ section. Thanks!

However, the directions were meant to say how to use the gear. 13000 pages were not needed, just a single post.

I think you'll see how easy it is by following along on the Darkscotia journal.

Doc and gang,

All good stuff here, great feedback.

I've grown since 1996, but none of that ever compared to what I grow now. There's a lot of outdoor going around now up in the Northeast, favorable weather conditions and big yields have flooded the scene, however everyone still looks to my produce as being the standard to measure to. The quality that is achievable with Doc's kit is amazing....I can only imagine how much better it will get once I correct more of the small things Im surely overlooking. Great Dialog folks, keep the egos in check and lets all get better!

Were knocking the bugs out, focusing the message and mitigating the static!

All good things!

The new help thread and the videos on the web will also help demonstrate the written directions.

Will address the cost estimates as well as clarify that the kit was a single bale of Promix, seed to harvest; implying more products are necessary to recycle the soil.

Also will fix the omission of Amendment not being mentioned on the still-not-live website!

This is helping me tremendously.

Thanks everyone!

Well said Sue,..(Mrs. WordsWorth:)..)...and Gazoo...yes, no egos are allowed in this neighborhood,..they do way more harm than good.
Glad to see 'our' Doc keeps an open mind and listens to us. I believe he has said , "we're all in this together"..a few yrs. ago.:)
As good and reliable as the 'Kit' was five/six yrs. ago,..it's gotten a whole lot better because of all this great feedback going back to Doc.
Cheers gang!....just puffin some PDC..(purple devils carnival)....happy weed...:thumb:
