In The Lab

Thanks Doc!

One thing I've noticed since reading this thread from the beginning is that you've updated the complete instructions for the high brix since page 5 on this thread. Will I be receiving the most up to date complete instructions once I receive my kit in the mail (I'm supposed to get it tomorrow) or do I need to comb through this and other threads (High Brix Q&A with pictures) to get the most up to date instructions? What I've been doing as I'm reading through is copy and pasting all the important stuff that your posting in addition to the questions and answers from other high brix users as well. Let just say its a pretty long document I got going so far and I'm not even close to finish reading all 148 pages lol.

I'll have proofs for new labels in the next day or two:

Doc Bud's High Brix Blend. Done up all nice and all. It'll have legit stuff, not my handwriting. I should have it on the bottles in a month or so, as I'm going to do some light remodeling so as to set up a little packing/shipping area. I'll make sure to include the shake thing on the Cat drench. No rasta men or hot babes with silicone cleavage or anything. Just a logo and some info.

I'll post a new set of instructions here for the rollout, and will ship instructions with the kit as well. I don't anticipate a price increase either, only if shipping costs increase.

I think High Brix growing can change lives, especially when it comes to food and medicine. If someone is sick and trying to rebuild their body, they need nutrient dense, clean, healthy food. The same exact thing applies to medicine.....especially something like medicinal cannabis, which is often smoked.

Clean, high brix produce, washed, clean as can be....dried and cured. That's pretty cool stuff! I want many people to enjoy this.

I guess further reading is answering my questions lol. Sorry for the last/redundant question about the updated instruction. Side note: I love seeing the evolution of your High Brix Kit, seems like at first it was for beta users with your personal handwriting, and now I'm reading about how your getting proper labels and getting all professional on us lol. So dope. I was dead after you said "No rasta men or hot babes with silicon cleavage" (not that there is anything wrong with rastas or bombshells with fake titties lol.

Hello Doc , and hello to all ! I've several completes, and I think I'm ready to raise the bar and have some Brix. Could you please PM me some info on the kit ? Thanks for all the info.

When you start out in the smaller pot, its much easier to do the dunking anytime the plants need a watering. Drench or not. Once you transplant them into their bigger pot, lifting those needs quite a bit of effort and so top watering is usually done at that point.

with a large enough pan/bucket/tub/tote :) under your pots, you can at least bottom feed.

Gentlemen, if I may: I have a bag that originally held amendment x4. I took out enough to do one 6-7 gallon batch, but I can't find my notes on the original weight, which would tell me how much I need for a whole bale.

Can one of you enlighten me as to the weight or measurement I need to add? I'll get the EWC mixed in and check back.

Thank you. :ciao:

Duggan got the info to me. Thanks Duggan. :hugs: It's 1.5 pounds per bale. Back to work for me. :battingeyelashes:

Yes, Sue , you ordered in "bulk" which was a great idea. You got 6 pounds , or 4 "kit's " worth. Now , with what's left , you know you can do 3 more runs. Make sure to mix that amendment very well , and weigh it accurately on a scale ...to be sure! No guessing with that, it's crucial for it to be well mixed , and not allowed to settle ...at all and be weighed. Havin fun Susan....Hope everyone is enjoying the evening/morning....:tokin:

I received the kit today so now I officially feel part of the High Brix squad :icon_cool

I got my Hp Promix, EWC (30 lbs) ready to go so I anticipate being able to cook tonight.

Here's my first question (I should say first-kit-equipped question). I understand that the kit/directions are intended for 6 plants in the recommended 7gal pots. I have a 5x5 tent but only plan on utilizing a 4x4 foot print so the maximum amount of plants I'll have growing is 4. Should I mix the entire 3.8 cu of HP promix, amendment , 30lb EWC all at once and let it cook for a month, or should I divide everything in half since I only plan on growing 4 plants (from seed)? I'm assuming if I mix EVERYTHING at once, I'll have plenty of cooked soil left over for my 2nd run (in addition to using the recycled soil from my first run+trimmings ). I'm leaning towards just cooking everything together and then just storing my extra soil indoors until my 2nd grow.

I have 1 gallon smart pots that I plan on using for germination, unless others suggest starting in those red solo cups then transplanting to the 1 gallon then to the 7 gallon (smart pot as well). I've seen some that suggest the cup isn't necessary and I can start the seed right in the 1 gallon.

Thanks all!

Cook it all. This way you have it w/o waiting a month. And you can store in a heavy duty tote or in pots, ready to go.

Hey Snoogensz.

I agree with DrZ. Cook it all at once and have some to use for starting next run plants.

I normally ran 4 7gls and had a decent amount sitting that I add all the brix plant trim to.
Then for the next run I add the used to the sitting, mix well, fill 4 more bags and start again.
My grows got better and better.

I am on 7th run now and the 2gl auto I finished was not as frosty as usual but the root structure was on par with a 7gl grow.
Surprising for a 9 week from seed harvest. I just tested a bud today and it's good. Loooooow yield

I have a NL in another 2gl pot and this should be a better test if the soil still has any oomph left in it.
another short plant though. She needed a week more veg to recover from some defol before the flip.
She is approaching 3 weeks flower, never needed destress one time, and not a bad leaf on her.
Ready for the Cat Drench next watering?

Yes, doc is against the solo cups but many have used with success. Doc and others including myself use plastics #1's but I'm sure the smart pots will work just fine. I'll 2nd cooking it all up, having extra that cooks for longer is not a bad thing plus 4 plants is really 2/3 not 1/2.

Start a journal to document your grow and ask questions. You may take a gander at mine as I asked a bunch of questions. One thing I was a little slow on was exactly how much of each component to use and there is a cheat sheet on page 14 or 15. Heads up on Brix and destress, don't mix up a full batch, for your 4 plants you should mix about 3 oz of water to 3ml of Brix or 1.5ml of destress but you won't even use these foliars until about week 3 or so, I think once you have 4 or 5 sets of true leaves. With the drenches it is not as important to be as accurate since directions call for .5 to 1.5oz, I always did mine at about 1oz which is about 30ml, so you will divide by 2/3 or about 20ml or 5ml of drench per plant plus about .4ml of tea all in 1.5 to 2 gallons of water per plant, this is for the #7's. For the #1's dunk them and with drenches use twice as strong as usual because a lot of the water with stay in the bucket, I'll let someone else suggest how much to use but below is my cheat sheet, I am using #10's though.

Cheat sheet.
Foliar sprays:
Brix 1 ounce to 32 Ounces Sprayed every week to 10 days,
Destress is .5 ounces per 32 ounces This can be sprayed 1-2 times per week when there are signs of plant stress. If the plants look "perfect" there is no reason to spray with De-Stress. Also, mixed at 50% strength it helps high brix clones root much faster.
Drenches (for me this is top watering in #10’s):
GE is 10ml plus 2ml of tea in 2 gallons of water per plant
¼ Trans is 1.5ml per gallon
Trans Drench is 30ml plus 2.5ml of tea for my 4 #10’s so 7.5ml plus .6ml of tea in 2 gallons of water each
#1 Dunks:
Trans 6ml plus 1ml of tea in 1.5 gallons of water
GE 5ml plus 1ml of tea I 1.5 gallons of water
Updated Instructions: August 24th, 2015

Schedule by Duggan.
Here is a very typical water /feed schedule for using the "kit" properly in veg. and bloom!
GE Drench W/Tea......
.Water with1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)...
.Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)......
Transplant Drench with Tea.....
.Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too).....
.Water with 1/4 Trans(could be straight water too)....
.GE Drench with Tea......Repeat....Repeat! 3

I do a Trans drench at the final upcan, and again right before the Cats.
