Icemud's Intelligent Gro 2 LED Grow With V-Scrog - Going for 1lb & Beyond!

re: Icemud's Intelligent Gro 2 LED Grow With V-Scrog - Going for 1lb & Beyond!

Yeah they are really growing fast. I don't ever remember seeing the screen fill up this quickly :)

Thanks man. My grow is going so much better following a high brix method. After 8+ veg weeks and a week into flowering I have had zero problems. No more Ph testing, just nice green plants

Nice harvest.
I am still plugging away with the gen I, but have better results vegging under t5. I just can't figure out what I am missing
just wondering in veg at what distance from canopy do you hang the lights ?
what is the average temp in your grow space?
and
do you supplement co2?
thanx in advance.

Great Update Ice :thumb:

Hi Ice, great grow! I have a question about your co2 bubblers... What cycle do you have your fans rotating on to keep the ppm ~1500? Also with co2 being heavier than o2 why no piping to release above the plants? Keep up the awesome work!! :)

Hey Lurch Farmer...Thanks for the compliments :)

The Gen 2 definitely is vegging faster than the Gen 1, even though the Gen 1 seemed to veg good too. Right now I have my Gen 2's sittting about 14" from the canopy, which is bringing me around 700 Umol which is optimal for cannabis without CO2 enrichment. I am using CO2 enrichment (yeast, sugar, water fermentation) so I think this also may be why the acceleration in growth.

I would suggest moving your LED's closer to your plants if you can, to give them more light. Try removing the "custom controller" and running them just on a strait 18/6 without dimming and see if that changes anything. Right now I am not using the Dimming and have my lights on 100% intensity at a 18/6 schedule because for some reason the controllers keep giving me issues and causing modules to go out, happened to 2 of my 3 270w models. So I just removed the controller and all is working fine, and the modules that went out work without the controller.

Maybe these things might help you see better growth out of your Igro's.

So are u basically saying the controller is not worth it?

Hey Johnny Blaze.....

Great questions and I see you are new...welcome to 420 mag!

I actually don't have a CO2 monitor so I have no idea what my CO2 ppm's are, however I also grow in my living space, so I know that the plants do receive a good amount of CO2 from me, as well as the yeast, sugar water solutions..

You are right about CO2 being heavier than air and technically I should have the bottles above the plants, or at least tubing above the plants however I figure with the quick air exchange, as well as how I have the air comming into my tent low, extraction on the top, I figure the air is going to mix fairly well inside my tents anyways, so really there wasn't a need for tubing and such.

In all honesty if I had a larger grow area I would have it much more automated and such, but since my grow area is so small, really CO2 tanks and regulators and more elaborate systems aren't really necessary because my tents exchange air so fast it really would be wasteful.

Hope my explanation was ok for your questions :) Welcome to 420 Magazine!!!!

Well, I don't know....

I mean I haven't found anything scientific evidence pointing one way or another saying yes dimming helps or no it doesn't. What I have found though is that longer day length in flowering - larger yield. So at this time its inconclusive, however I am leaning to dimming not really having much benefit in flowering. In Veg however I think it is beneficial to be able to control internode distance and such.

For my Generation 1 lights, the controller worked well, but for my Gen 2 lights, it has caused 2 lights to fail, so I believe the controller has some issues.

Do I think that I would have had a larger yield running the Intelligent Gro's on full intensity 12/12 vs dimming 12/12.... I would have to say I believe I would.

Dimming at least for the OFF period, can cause the strains that are more susceptible to Powder Mold, to shut down transpiration before the lights and heat go completely away. This reduces the spike in Relative Humidity, and thus the likelihood of molds taking hold during this period. This happens because transpiration continues for a while after the lights are abruptly extinguished. During the cooldown after lights go off the RH goes up while the plants are still transpiring, making for a more hospitable environment for fungi like powder mold.

Also, the dimming on the 12/12 flower cycle takes place BEFORE and AFTER the actual 12/12, giving the plants 13/11 of actual light, but 12/12 of photosynthesis-level light.

Thanks Ice! I've been lurking for about 6 months now reading dozens of journals. I think I'm prob overthinking it. KISS method is always the best! Will prob run extraction fan 15 on/off to hopefully reach saturation and run tubing up to the canopy fans. Running a line to each plant seems more work than really necessary. :)

With mine set on the 12/12 custom setting, the lights go on about 1/2 hour before the actual scheduled time, and go out 1/2 hour early, so really mine is just 12 hours for bloom, but with the dimming, they only recieve about 6 hours full 100% intensity out of the 12 hours, the other 6 hours the lights are either fading in or out. So in actuallity, the 12/12 program is actually giving less than 12 hours of daylight. I would be very interested in the near future to do a side by side, one with dimming, one without to see the difference. I just know that my buds matured way faster than I have ever seen before, I mean by day 35 they looked ready for harvest which I have never seen before, so I think the dimming might be making them mature faster thus the lesser yield.

Good tip on the PM, I've only had PM once and since then have increased the airflow in my grow areas as well as make sure the girls never get as thick as they did in the past.

hehehe, I'm using the dimmed 12/12 on my grow right now if'n ya wanna see. . . hehehe

The plants are looking great Jandre... I actually compared my harlequin to yours on the same day of flowering, and they look almost identical. I'm curious how fast yours finish under the dimming schedule, as my last grow it seemed to make them mature much faster than I ever have seen before. I definitely am following your grow :) so far looking beautiful my friend!

Thank you very much, my friend. I will not be using the diminishing light routine this go-round... testing the 12/12 rise/set feature for feasibility, and functionality. Next grow I will play. YAY FOR PLAY!
