oh to have that kind of energy and drive lol im all about automation, if i could id hav it where all i had to do was fill a res twice veg/flower, spend an hour a week training, and check in on webcam anytime i want, oh and change filters/clean once a cycle, auto nute adjustment, enviros etc, and the last thing harvest ugh i hate trimming... i have had an electric auto bud trimmer in my watch list for 2 yrs lolHow about if you filled some of those gallon milk containers with water and froze them to strategically place near the fans for some extra cooling? Save some electricity and just refreeze them as needed.
whats up icemud!! great update and love the vid!!
just a thought on your heat issue, i too was having the same issue as you i have 3 leds in a 3x6 area.
what i did was from my extraction fan just ran a piece of ducting right over the tops of the LEDS to suck the air from the source and took care of my probs with just one extraction point at the top of the room, or you could run a piece of ducting down the tops of your lights then cap it off at the end and with using 3 duct T's, one over each light to draw heat from each one individually. very simple, cheap and im sure it would help.Like always just thinking out loud, take it or leave it
Have a great day and best of luck fixing the issue!!!!

i think my kwh is 43 cents my bill is sky high 1k has happened b4...
the girls look great!!
i have found the heat with these i-gros are the hardest ones to deal with my 6 in extraction fan on hi and the ac unit blowing into the tent just barely keeps it under control, -90f, my other lights im having very little issues with heat like you it was easier with vented hoods ,and my other leds dont produce heat like these my 4in fan on medium and a timer set to run 30 min every hour is good to keep the smaller tent below 85f, im running the i gros at night and the others during the day! so yeah dealing with the heat is a big issue to contend with but so far i have been able to keep it below the danger point, so far so good im glad i have all the equipment from when i ran the hid lights,

i actually did have less heat switching to led till recently, i dont want to name off brands an stuff as this is a sponsored journal and i wish to respect that, but you know what gear i have, my second light i was able to drop my fan down to low and had it shut off during lights on every hour for 30 min heat would build up to about 87f and the fan would kivk on and in 5 min bach to 80f i think its the cobs that output the heat, i never ran multiple lights in 1 tent either and my big tent is a 4'6" x 4'6" x 7ft so the larger space may have alot to do with it, , i know of 1 light thats made in the uk with german engineering , right now my temps are doing real good but this year i have an ac window unit on a timer set to run only a few hours during lights on during the day, no need at night,,im lazy and hate the yeast smell or i would fire up my jandre inspired co2 module but they are growing so amazing in the autopots and just the one old light i see no need to do anything but look on in awe , at 6 inches in 24 hours im stunned and thats in flower following glr! you gotta try some autopots i am pretty sure you can do hi brix in them too, you should swing by and see,Yeah I've had issues with all my LED panels, both Igro and Top LED as far as properly evacuating heat in my grow area... In the middle of summer with my HID 1000w air cooled setup, temps rarely ever were above 85F (around 79F avg), even on the hottest days, but with my Igro's, my temps on average are 84-85F and many times hit as high as 89F, even when ambient room temps are only sitting around 80F. With my Top LED's, the grow area usually sat on average about 82-84F.
Part of the reason I started adding all the CO2 bottles in the tent...... photosynthesis is a 3 part formula...its based on umol, temperature, and CO2.... if any of these areas are "out of range" or "too low or too high" then photosynthesis slows greatly as the light saturation point is decreased... So with all the high temps, had to add CO2 or it would have really stressed my plants.
trimming is the DEVIL! im slow and my back goes on strike , no amount of hash or perfect trim is worth it to me as soon as i can afford a trim bowl im gonna get one 1st item on my to get list! ol propa gator had onehe said you can control the closness by how long you crank the handle /run the drill/motor and some you can adjust the height the blades sit at, i hung up a gsc last round whole and just squeezed the crispy leaves off into my trim box lol trimmimg.... i hate it i hate it i hate it makes want to punch little wheelchair bound blind kids with brass knuckles!! and i love kids, i worked with developmentally disabled kids for years, but trimmimg makes me go nuttier than a box of peanut brittle ooo just thinking about the next harvest makes me want to ram a white hot sewing needle thru the pupil of my eye and nail my nuts to a tree stump and kick myself over backwards while chewing tin foil and shaving my head with a rusty cheese grater!! yes all that lolI hear ya BID, trimming I hate with a passion as well. I actually went to help a buddy a week or 2 ago trim at his farm...it was paid but not my type of work...I've worked highway construction and concrete in 115degree chicago summers doing 12 hour days of heavy physical labor, and I actually hate trimming more...LOL...
Plus the pay isn't really good unless you are very quick at it....me...definitely not a speed trimmer.... for instance it took me 10 hours to trim up 16 plants that day, and a buddy of mine who trims regularly, did 34 plants in the same amount of time... so my 100$ I earned for 10 hours wasn't crap as far as hourly pay, but for him it was great...some people I guess have a knack for it, not me...LOL..
I too have seen those hand crank trimmer things that seem very appealing I'm just curious how good of a job they do since I prefer close trim/no sugar leaf otherwise known as dispensary trim here in Cali... I have a feeling that the auto trimmers may either shave off too much bud/calyx or not enough and leave them leafy...but to me, it almost would be worth it to be able to "touch up" the buds in 1 hour, vs spending countless hours trimming them... maybe a future investment for me
I do love finger hash though Its like a preview of flavor and strength of the buds
Here's a possible solution for you buddy!
I have another question about your co2 bubblers. What ratio of water/sugar/yeast do you use? I found some nice 5L containers to use. Would love it if I could get a ratio so I don't have to refill every week.
Looking great Icemud.
I got simmilar issues.
IN my room
DWC water temp 70f
ph 5.8-6.1
ppm 1500 at top up-700 waist
air at canopy 73 -79
air above lights after 15 mins lights on 95f
no controler on lights.
The first sign I got is directly under the center of each panel about mid plant . Initially just small spots of discoloration (almost spider mite looking) then the edges of the leaves look nute burned and took almost 2 weeks to destroy a leaf.
Does your issue start at the base and work out or start mid plant.
I use 2 gallon milk jugs, poke about a 1/4" hole in the lid, fill the jugs 3/4 with water. I add 1 yeast packet per bottle, and then I add sugar. I never measure it out, just dump it in until I think its enough...but if I were to estimate, probably about 1/4 cup or less of sugar. This mix usually lasts about 1 week, and then needs a "recharge". To do this I empty about 2/3 of the water in the jug and fill it 3/4 full again. Then I add about the same amount of sugar and good for another week.
Really not sure how one would go about making it last longer, but if you asked someone who used to brew or does brew, they probably would know. I think Big Irish Doode is the one who let me know that I didn't have to add yeast every time as long as I kept it alive. Might wanna run that question by him or someone else will chip in
