Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing & Review

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

The little ones are really taking off, looking great Ice.

I came to your journal to try and improve my medium and compost teas. Now I'm wishing a new set of lights was in my budget. Very impressed with them and with your informative posts on these lights.

I'm really digging your style Ice. Very descriptive and narrative. After the first page alone I was hooked so I'm definitely subbed. Dave, you need to give Ice his propers; Now I know exactly what your LEDs are all about and I'm impressed. I'll have to go back to the video later when I have time but you can count me in as part of the flock Ice.

Man Cronic, I go through that no matter what time of day I'm 420ing.

Hey Cronic!! Today was one of those days, but nothing that a nice bowl of cured cherry pie wont fix :)

Nice

MY Diesel is really close anywhere from tomorrow on I may chop

Cherry pie does it actually have a cherry taste to it?

Ice, that T and J stuff you laud in many of your grows, is that tandjenterprises? They have a funky web site layout. Some of their vids proclaim some amazing benefits and reactions. Is the kit you mentioned the Organic Garden Kit; then they have an assortment of additives and nutes to choose; which do you recommend?

What we would like to see is some kind of comparative grow: HID vs LED, mono intensity LED vs vari intensity LED(dawn to dusk)? Ya dig?

Diesel is such a yummy strain with a great high! love me some Diesel! The cherry pie doesn't taste like cherry pie to me, but it is very fruity/flowery smelling, I guess some might say it smells cherry but to me its just a fruity/floral goodness with a very light skunkyness :)

Hey Jammzhow! Yeah that T and J so far seems to be really good stuff. If you already have a bucket and airpump/airstone, all you need is the biominerals and the tea activator. I also picked up their mycos product, but haven't used it yet since I still have humboldt mycos maximum still.

I would love to do a comparitive grow but I am in the process of selling all my HID equipment, after running the other LEDs with success I don't see a reason to keep all of it and run up my power bills so unfortunately I wont be able to do a side by side. I may keep 1 of the magnetic ballasts with the Ceramic Metal Halides because I have to day they are damn good bulbs, but the cost of running them compared to LED just really doesn't make sense anymore so I will probably just keep it for backup for now. Once I get seeds made of all my strains and have only a few plants going, I will have more room to do side by sides and may even do an LED shootout, but that is probably months down the road, possibly about a year before I have all my breeding project done :)

I will try to look around for some information on it and see what I can find as well! I definitely think it would be awesome to be able to replicate a certain region's lighting conditions for a certain landrace strains. Yeah I think one of the side effects of Marijuana is it turns people into scientists!! LOL

To be able to replicate a specific region for a specific strain could even involve humidity, soil, UV exposure, etc... hmmmm. Bill Nye the Chronic Guy!

My memory on that data was that it was based on known values such as latitude, altitude, etc to create a map that looked much like a planting guide map on the back of seed pack that represented different times of year.

Then again, I might have been high. :bong:+:reading420magazine:=:scratchinghead: sometimes for me.

Gotta go back now and catch up from being away from the interwebs and this fine journal. I don't want to miss any questions on the quiz. :geek:

G'day ice, how is it all going? What are you temps doing with the new panel? Geez those girls grow so fast.have you noticed quicker growth? Do you put this down to all things balanced or soil or lights? :goodjob::peace:

Hey Dr Bob!! I like that...Bill Nye the Cronic Guy!!! LOL I haven't gotten a chance to look around yet for some info on this but I have some time anyhow before this run is finished. For this one I wanted to run the factory specs as far as the recommended schedule and so far I am pretty happy with what I am seeing :)

As soon as I find some info on all this I will definitely be sharing it with everyone :)

Good luck on your quiz!

Hey Grizzwald!!! things are well, been kind of sleepy lately, not sure if I got a little cold or just have odd sleeping hours...LOL

As far as the temps in my tent...My average room temp ranges from 70-75F, My tent with the lights is around 83F which is a little high for my liking, and my other tent with the other brand LED is running around 81F, The Intelligent Gro lights definitely run slightly warmer than my HID that they replaced, but not by much. I do have to say that the growth rate with the Intelligent Gro lights is fantastic and seems that the plants really love the blend of this light, and the intensity!

I didn't quite understand the last part of your question though. ?

Hey New Grow King!!! Happy Fried day to you too!!!

Hey Grizzwald!!!

Sorry ice, I preempted that you were noticing quicker growth, and am wondering if you think the light has achieved this. Or is it more your environment,or soil getting better. I saw some high brix readings somewhere. I remember you saying you don't notice a difference in temps with led v hid, yet it's why a lot of people are turning to LEDs, trying to bring temps down. Strange.
Look after yourself man, eat a big garlicky spaghetti bolognese, helps me. And rest, proper sleep lol

I asked this somewhere else but I might aswell ask you. I'm 3/4 weeks away from harvest and we're getting early rain here, bit worried as I was a little late this year. I was thinking last night about mould and what kills it? Clove oil, wondering if it prevents it? Thinking might give one of my little one a going and seeing how far I can go without mould. Unless told otherwise, thanks :peace:
