Icemud's Breeding Projects And Motherchucking Pollination Extravaganza

Hey Everyone!!! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful Christmas Wishes! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday with Family, Friends, and all!

I had a great time seeing my family and a wonderful trip!

Well here is a quick update. I will take some photos later today and post them.

The Apollo 13 project:

Upon arriving home and hoping that my drip system worked, I opened the tent and WOW!!! The plants really grew while I was gone and all seemed to be 6"-1' taller than when I left which was crazy! The drip system worked perfectly and all of the plants were lively and happy. Since all of the clones of the mothers have now rooted and are growing in the other tent, I changed the timers to 12/12 on this project and today will be the first day of flowering for the girls. :) Really excited for this project!!!

I removed the drip system since I will be hand watering from here on out with this project and will probably defoliate the plants after the stretch as the tent has become quite "leafy" and will need to be thinned out for proper airflow and light penetration, but will probably wait until the flower set to do this.

The Jesus OG/Gods Gift project:

Well over my trip I was really hoping that more of the seeds would pop and I would have opened the tent to a bunch of seedlings, however this was not the case and quite disappointed at what I saw. The Jesus OG seed never took off and never germinated so unfortunately that was the last seed in the project and I do not have anymore, so I will have to switch up plans. Out of the Gods Gift seeds, only 2 fully germinated and are doing quite well, and the 3rd seed that germinated only pushed out of the soil about 1 inch and has not grown at all but still seems to be alive which is really odd. I will let it just take its course but most likely only the 2 that now show multiple leaves will be part of the upcoming project, which kind of sucks because the odds of getting 1 male and 1 female are probably low. I think I have 2-4 more of the Gods gift seeds left that I have not germinated so I will be putting those in water today to soak and hopefully will get at least 2 more plants to increase my odds of getting a female and male. Depending on what happens, I may plant a few other seeds and then wait to see what happens. I will have to think about how to approach this project over the coming days as I definitely want it to be successful. I will have to see how the new seeds go, but really hope to get at least 1 male and 1 female of the gods gift because the strain is definitely one of the favorites from the past years. :)

Well I wish everyone a Happy New Year, and Happy New Decade!!!! I wish everyone health, love, success, growth, happy plants and grows, and many good things as we move into the new decade!!! Happy New Year everyone!!

Quick update:

So I checked to see how many of the Hazeman Gods Gift seeds I had left and I have 4 which is awesome. So all 4 of the Gods Gift seeds went into water today and are sitting on my range stove for warmth. Within 1-2 days if they are good they should pop and will be put in new soil.

If all 4 of the Gods Gift seeds pop, this means I have room for 2 more pots/plants. I scoured my "random seeds" and looked at what options I had to pop. I didn't want to crack into a whole "breeder pack" of seeds since I only had 2 slots. I ended up finding 2 Pineapple Punch seeds that I got from a buddy and since I only had 2, it seemed to be a match made in heaven... or something like that..lol. The pineapple punch seeds I believe he found in a bag of flower he bought from a dispensary, so most likely they are "self pollinated" or hermies, so I will have to be extremely watchful of them while they veg and flower, but if they are just "self pollinated" seeds, they may be something special to blend with the Gods Gift as they are mostly skunk genetics with a tropical flavor and smell. :)

So hopefully in 1-2 days I will know whether or not they are any good and if they germ I will definitely be pleased.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Here are the photos from the Apollo 13 project which is now on day 3 of flowering.

Plants look great Ice!

Happy belated New Year bud! :passitleft:

Thank you Van Stank! Happy New year to you as well!

Thanks for the compliment. I'm really pleased thus far how everything is going with the grow. :) I will be doing an update with photos in the next couple days.

Getting laid off from my job in the cannabis industry on friday, (kind of bummed) but will have a lot more time to participate more on the forums here :)

Good to see you still at it Icemud. Recently became active on the site again and lots of old faces still around. Plants look great buddy.

Bummer about getting laid off bud! Hopefully you can find something to occupy your time soon.

Yea I kind of expected this was coming. The california cannabis (legal) industry is failing due to extremely high(greedy) taxes, the failure of the state to shut down illegal retailers, and the vape "scare" really has just added onto the already poor sales leaving even more debt for the retailers.... when they can't pay their debts (including to manufactures like us) then we can't pay our bills either.. so I knew it was only a matter of time. My hope is that I can quickly use my expertise in compliance and transition to a new company quickly, but we will see.....

In the meantime I have a ton of "at home projects" that I have been neglecting so I may take 1-2 weeks to get a bunch of that stuff knocked out so that I can feel good about having the time to get these things done.

I'm looking at it as positive as I can, and recognize the universe was telling me I was "too much into routine" and needed to stir things up :)

Glad you can look at it as a positive. The problem with the legal industry is that everything is so expensive. Between taxes, the cost of retail space and everyone trying to get their cut (by charging exorbitant prices to those in the industry) it makes it tough. Do people want to pay what they have been paying their buddy all along or do they want to go buy a $75 eighth after paying for all the taxes and mark up? Most states have done things poorly that leads to either a flooded market or one that is not conducive to legal sales. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Your compliance expertise should land you a job quickly, best of luck with the home projects bud.

Yea I definitely trying to look at it positive.. I mean obviously it kind of sucks to help develop a business from concept to reality and then have to "move on" as you feel almost "lost" to purpose in a way.. but I can't focus on that and instead would rather focus on how the business developed me. I learned so much being part of it, and its grown me as an adult, a human and a business professional so I want to let that carry me to the next universe intent for this living vessel ;) In the meanwhile it gives me some much needed "me time" to work on things I've been wanting to get done. Overall I don't like drastic change as consistency seems "easier" but sometimes life needs to kick your arse into change to allow expansion. I'm open and ready for the next "journey" :)

So.. in speaking of "Much needed... Me time" Here is a very much needed update. Sorry everyone! :)

Lets Start with the Gods Gift project:

So the gods gift project has been vegging slowly along and its been about 1 month, 1 week since germination of the oldest 3 girls, and the other 3 are about 2 weeks younger. All of the girls now have healthy strong growth so I decided it was a perfect time to top them to allow for branching. The Gods gift are definitely growing well, but seem to have more of a indica type slower squatty growth style than some other hybrids I've grown. Very nice fat bladed leaves too are beautiful. It sort of grows similar to the Xmas Bud did in structure and leaf form. So far Excited.

So I have 6 total Gods Gift Girls in veg right now, and I really hope to get at least 1 male as I love both parent strains (og kush and GDP) and Gods Gift has a wonderful flavor with strong high so right in my area of interest :)

Unfortunately none of the Jesus OG seeds I was able to get to germinate which was really a bummer but happens sometimes with older seeds. I then popped some of my first seeds (black diamond og x black cherry soda) and 2 seeds cracked, both were put in soil, and 1 of them has germinated but is very slow to take off. I was going to select some more seeds as I have 2 slots left in my tent, however I figure I should just chill out on too many strains and focus on the task at hand :) Therefore the BDOG xBCS will be a interesting surprise if it takes off. This actually would be my 1st seed that I have personally germinated of my own creations which is kind of exciting :) lol

Well not much else to report on the Gods Gift project as of now. The other "mothers" clones are all vegging well. What is really odd though is those "white crystals" that were on the stems of the Apollo 13 in my other project I also now see on my Gorilla Glue and my Harlequin which both also seem to be my healthiest plants. Therefore I am thinking its something like "honeydew" or some kind of excretion of the plant. I took more "samples off" the stem and put them on a piece of paper. They definitely are hard and a "crystal" type structure because when you crush them they almost shatter instead of squish... Maybe because I'm using a mostly synthetic "bottle feed" as of now and changed my watering from more volume/less frequent to more frequent/less volume?? not sure other than that what it is. Just as a preventative I sprayed the girls with a mix of calcium nitrate, neem and insecticial soap just to be cautious. None of the other plants have it though. Odd.

Also with "new soil" comes new surprises and sure enough.. fungus gnats came for free with the new soil (never ever had this issue with promix). This run I am using some EB Stone formula 420 mixed with some leftover promix. I went "cheap" this run since it was a seed run. I also am wondering if this is why I had issues germinating seeds this run, as I generally use promix and ocean forest in a 4:1 ratio. Anyhow fungus gnats are very easy to take care of. I pulled out some mosquito dunks and smashed them inbetween my fingers into my feeding "tea" water. Then I just fed the girls as normal. This kills the larvae. I then put yellow sticky cards in there to catch and kill the adults. This process takes about 2-4 weeks to complety get rid of them, but so far 2 weeks in, I don't see any other flying "adults" and not seeing any new adults stuck to the yellow cards so I think they are gone :) fungus gnats are probably the easiest pest to get rid of. :)
