Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spectrum

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Very nice long skinny leaves, looks to be great smoke. I'm looking at your first two shots and your white light looks very close to my MH bulb that I'm finishing my grow up with now. I wonder how 4300K MH bulb , running at 1050 watts compares to yours in its white color setting.

Cheers

Very nice looking plant!

Well the color temp is very close, I think the budmasters are 3500k which the difference between the 2 are minimal. Metal halides are usually around 75-100lm watt and the Citizin LED's that are in the budmasters I believe are around 120lm/watt or so the COBs are slightly more efficient. The part where LED excel over MH bulbs is called lumen maintenance. A metal halide will lose about 20% of its light within the first 6000 hours of use, where a Citizen COB will only lose between 2-6% of its light output over that same amount of time, and around 35,000 hours the MH will be at around only 50% light output, where the COB's will only have lost about 10-15% output or less. So in terms of longevity the COBs last much longer. As far as plant growth, it would be interesting to see how they would compare.

Nice bud sites for 2 weeks with the Cobs the girls look real good :adore:

Lots of interest with the emerson effect i see, i look forwards to learning more as people progress with this.

Yea I am very impressed with only at day 17 how nice and big the buds are getting already, and the spacing of the nodes is really nice as well :) Not too much stretch yet, except the OG which are just known to stretch like 3x but the others are remaining quite tame :)

I can't wait to start experimenting with the emerson :)

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Hey my friend :)

I hear your getting some BM high pressure sunlight clusters as well now, if its left me short for my DeathStar of bud build I know who to come after lol. Nah glad your getting some also as your the light tech guy, I just grow with em :)

What!!!???!!! No way!!! dude! I am so stoked! I can't even imagine what they might be :) Sounds like LED and plasma? or a finely tuned white and mono mix? I'm exited to know more :)

I wonder if Paul turned up the power in the GOD panels, or if this GOD 8 is just that bright, it seems so much more intense than the other modules, but maybe because its just all in one unit... its so bright! I took a quick PAR reading about 36" away from the lights and still was hitting like 650umol at over 3'!!! wow!

Re: Icemud LED Grow Featuring The All New Budmaster COB Technology - White Full Spect

Hey guys, I did as much reading and Internet searching as possible today and have a pretty good idea how to use this "trigger light". I was able to find one grower who journaled his methods and results on RIU. He basically started it 15 minutes before lights on and shut it down 15 minutes after lights on. He did the same thing at lights off (15 minutes before and after lights off). He ran his main LED for 12 hours on/off for the first 14 days and then he switched it to 13.5 on/off until day 56. He then went back to the 12 hour schedule to mimic the length of days from spring to fall. He kept the IR light 15 minutes before and after lights on and lights off throughout the entire flower process.

He's convinced his quantity and quality both improved tremendously. He also said using this method there was almost no stretch once flower cycle was invoked.

I'm going to give this a shot once I start flowering my seedlings. :Namaste:

Wow! thanks for sharing that, very interesting that he also used it in the Morning before and after light. I will do more reading over the next week or so when I get the time, things have been busy lately with work and taking a lot of brain energy doing research. Fun stuff though because its all cannabis related research :) I've seen a few different mentions of how people use them, and it seems most people run them at least 15 before dark, and 15 after dark, but thats the first I have heard about morning as well. I can't wait to try it all )

Do your run your lights during the day? or night?

Since my apartment doesn't have AC, I decided to run my majority of my daytime starting in the late evenings and through the night. In my apartment it gets warm around 2pm when the sun hits my side of the building and from there until about 8pm it stays hot, and here in socal, summers can get brutal. Running the plants at night seems to work at keeping the temps right in the perfect range and when lights are off there isn't much of a difference in temp.

So I wanted to report on my Isopropyl Alcohol, leaf topical. Its been a couple weeks since I put the leaves in the mason jar, and soaked them in 90% isopropyl alcohol. Late last week I must have slept wrong because my shoulder has felt a lot of pain lately, almost like either a pinched nerve or that it popped slightly out of alignment. Certain movements cause severe pain, but other times its fine and normal. Anyhow, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try my leaf muscle rub.... and what did I find out????

It makes your skin look like the Hulk! hahah :)

It actually does slightly stain the skin since it is a very dark green liquid as of now. However, as far as pain managment, it does seem to work and quite well. The alcohol leaves the skin feeling tingly and cool after applying it and within about 10 minutes you feel the whole area slightly tingly and the pain getting less and less. You don't get any high from it as I used fresh leaves which have the cannabinoids in acid form which aren't psychoactive yet from what I have read. After about 1/2 hour to hour after the application the area feels numb and the pain is very minimal. Its still there but much less painful! So there it is, the fresh leaves work!

I made a batch with some old Tangie buds too tonight, which I grinded up a good 10 grams and added it to the alcohol. This will sit for around 30 days and I will try it, now I have a feeling that the buds may cause a high and since they are older buds probably a sleepy effect from the CBN, but who knows, it may even be better for pain :)

No AC here too. I run 2100 to 0900. Great info on leaf use, it's great to use whole plant for pain control.

Cheers

God 8 ah Ice very tasty piece of kit, i know the budmaster site has some pic's of ppfd ratings over distance with some of the panels.

The 8 & 9 panels i think as you have more clusters of led closer together you get more over lap spread of light increasing the ppfd.

One cluster has light foot print of 40cm by 40cm but not sure what distance that is ?

Congratulations Icemud, I am glad you found relief! What a cool experiment! I can't wait to hear about how the buds work. I love experiments! :bravo::circle-of-love::high-five:

I was very interested as well. His theory was triggering the wake up and sleep time of the plant. His was the only real journal I've seen so this technology, even though it's been known for a while, doesn't really have any true tests with cannabis. We'll be the first ones to document any real world tests. How Fn cool is that?

I'm going to hang mine on its side and aim it across the entire canopy. I'll be using the method the guy on RIU used. Since I'm not a light guy, I don't understand all the jargon. But I do understand the theory behind a trigger light.

It will be cool to see how we all decide to use them. I'll send you a link to my thread as soon as I get it up.

I've spotted part of the heat issue in the top right corner....You're blowing hot air down from the top of the tent.... Move that fan down, and angle it more up...

Hey Everyone!!!

So here is the Testing and Review video of the all new Budmaster Emerson LED light!! I've been doing this one all day so I hope you enjoy it :) I don't know if I will get the other GOD 8 video up today. My computer fan started screaming at me on my video card and its quite annoying so I may need to do it tomorrow...LOL. or smoke some heavy indica :)

Ice, great information. During my summer drawdown I'm looking into your setup in greater detail. I'm also looking at other low wattage full spectrum lights, 315 watt CMH, looks good but with a CR over 90 bulb burns hot and needs to be ~30" off plants. LEP lights are now on the market in the mid 300 watts which is where I think I'll be because it's CR is 96 or better. However, you have your garden hitting on all cylinders.

Cheers

My suggestion would be to look into COB lighting, Cree, Citizen or Bridgelux vero. The COB grow lights are amazing, and they are the most efficient light source out there currently. They also have amazing even footprint and have a near perfect spectrum. The LEP lights aren't all that, the spectrum is good, almost like the sun, however the PAR output is horrible. I tested a 300w one about a year ago at a local hardware store and at 18" the thing was barely hitting 400umol/m2/s-1 which is pretty poor. CMH bulbs are really good though, and I would say compare them to COB would be a very fair comparison, even though Cob is still more efficient, CMH is nice because they output UV I believe as well as IR. :)

Phillips has their 315 watt for $405 complete setup with hangers, timer, hood, ect.

Now I've been fighting a cold and got this.
