I need a good super soil recipe

I will make a grow journal with my next grow. It will be in living soil. The plants I have now are in a mix of about 20% coco 20% perlite 30% potting soil and 30% of my buddys compost. I am getting the stuff together to start the super soil or living soil. I am excited to mix it and get some seedlings started for early next spring. I have learned so much from the members here :snowboating:

If you decide a true Organic Living Soil no-till then it needs to be in at least a 15 gallon fabric pot minimum.

I think I see what's happening.

I just now went go the buildasoil site through Google and boom went right to what you're saying.
Then I clicked on the buildasoil logo on the page and went to home page and looked under soils, then LOS Oly Mountain Modern mix 2 and then it comes up no problem, it's all there in stock.
Yep that worked Thank You...

Can do all the above.
Add to a tea, top dress, and mix some into the soil when you fill the pot.
I mixed the stuff I am using now, Mixed it in a baby pool I am going to get a couple tarps to mix the living soil it looks much easier then mixing in a baby pool.

One thing, do not use the Gro-kashi past about week 1 to 2 in flower.
It can extend your flower cycle.
Do you mix it in your soil or use it as a top dressing. If on top do you use a cover like clover ? Also how would I use it in a compost tea? what else do you add to it?

The Oly Mountain modern mix 2 already comes with it mixed in.
I pull back my mulch and toss it under there and put the mulch back over it.
And sprinkle it among the cover crop.

With the tea simply add it to whatever tea you're making.

I found this on Compost tea etc. it looked informative so I thought I would share …………………………………………………………………..https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs/news/the-ultimate-compost-tea-guide?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Compost+Tea+Growing+Guide&utm_campaign=Compost+Tea

I do mine a bit differently.
I use Rootwise Microbe Complete as the base, add some Gro-kashi, some Kelp meal a little aloe vera and Yucca extract.
Then I super oxygenate with 02 emitters for about 30 minutes.
Fast microbe rich tea with lots of dissolved oxygen.
My worms in the pot create fresh worm castings daily which adds to the tea as I pour it over the castings in the pot.

Thank You. I have ordered the Gro Kashi and Kelp Meal so I would need the rest of the stuff for the compost tea I was looking a worm bins that separate the castings through screens on Amazon Man I have spent a tone of money so far.

Nothing wrong with a worm bin but unless you need lots of castings for other plants like in a garden then you can just add the worms directly into your living organic soil in the pot.
You get the fresh worm castings daily plus the added benefit of the worms aerating your soil and breaking down the old roots in the pot quicker.

I ordered some red wigglers so I will add a few to each pot, Thanks again

If I add Dolomite Lime does it have to cook for awhile I know lime can make soil hot. I know I am probably asking basic questions but I want to mix my soil and be ready for March next year so I can plant 6 or 8 plants.

I ordered the Oly Mountain mix Thanks for figuring out what was going on

If you ordered the Oly Mountain modern mix 2 then dont be mucking it up by adding a bunch of things such as the lime.
It has everything it needs already in it except for microbes and fungus and other biologicals , worms, Rove Beetles etc.
You can add a bit extra Craftblend in the bottom 3rd of the pot to give a little extra once the plant gets big enough to reach that deep.

But I wouldn't add too much you might screw up the pH balance.

I assume you're using at least 15 gallon fabric pots?
I'd put at least 50 worms in each pot that size right after you get the cover crop growing, put a little barley hay down as mulch until cover crop fills in then when the pot looks good and alive add the worms and they wont be crawling out on you.

This is my soil currently.
This is after 7 grows, its alive, you can almost see it breathing, you can smell it.
I can take my hand with fingers straight and push right down into this soil at least as far as my wrist with very little effort, its pillowy soft.
When I pour water on it it disappears just as fast as if I were pouring through a screen door.
100s of worms, 1000s of Beetles Trillions of microbes.

My pots are like big living breathing digesters.
Everything you see here as far as cover crop and a sizable percentage of the cannabis leaves has been eaten and digested and turned into Unicorn Poop, plus the roots of the cannabis plant after harvest which is full of nutrients and carbon added into the soil.
All of that turned into Unicorn Poop and compost and it does it very quickly.
The pot is it's own ecosystem creating it's own nutrients.

I wasn't going to add to the Oly mix, just use what they recommended Peat Moss , Malibu Compost 100507245 Bu's Blend Biodynamic Compost 12qt , COAST OF MAINE Q1 Lobster Compost Soil Conditioner 1 Cubic Feet......…...……………. and Grow stones for the base then add the mix I am going to use 20 gal. fabric smart pots The Lime etc. I was going to try making a super soil with the stuff I mentioned with compost, potting soil perlite worm castings etc. and see how it does and use the Oly Mix in other pots to see how it does, I already have the stuff to mix some soil up.
