I Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost - Seedsman's Purple Ghost Candy Comparative Grow SIP/SCROG

@Roy Growin sorry for the delay, have some tornado watches moving through the area so have been glued to the tv watching the storms.

Anyway lights are 11” away from the plants at 50% so 200w

Day 16:

Still sliming along here! Storms went north of us by about 10 miles but I think it turned out to be 5 confirmed naders and tennis ball sized hail.

Plants are doing great, loving the color on them. They will get their first dose of Bushdoctor next Tuesday to try and stay ahead of that while in veg.

That’s all she wrote for today.

Hope you are staying safe out there!
Take care!

Actually, further distance and higher wattage creates better penetration than closer distance and lower wattage (at the same PPFD across the canopy). You obviously don't need light penetration now but keep it in mind for later.
Interesting! I will have to switch up my thought process with that and make a change here in the next week or 2 then for sure.

I might tie that together with the first official week of veg next Tuesday and raise them lights and make the bump up to 75% power if I can manage it. I am not 100% sure I have the headroom in the tent as I ran last grow entire flower at 75%, though I was also closer to 16 - 13” away. I will raise the lights to full height and then 75% and lower to reach my desired DLI.

Day 17:

I think that slimer might have found the sip. Her reservoir has suddenly dropped.

Both plants look happy :)

Dropped of an ozer of each of my last harvest to a buddy today and he and his band mates were all pleased with the results :)

Can’t wait to see how these to lady’s progress and to play with lst and scrog.

Tossing an 18 lb brisket on the smoker tonight at 11 with the hopes that it will be done around 5pm tomorrow. Will roll one up and indulge in more that 1 type of smoke :)

Can you add old canna stems and trunks into the smoker for more "flavor" or is that a bridge too far?

I’ve read somewhere about someone smoke curing their harvest….

Brisket should be fine! Mmmmm mmm.

Don't skip the rest. I wrap mine in brown paper when it comes off the smoker. Then in an old towel. The. Plop that bad boy in a cooler. Lid closed. Min 1hr, 2hr is better.

Enjoy your feast, don't forget about the brisket nachos, and fajitas day 2

Yup!

Mine comes off @ 165° to get wrapped in butcher paper, then back on until 200°. It then gets wrapped in a towel for and into the cooler for 1-4 hours depending on what time of day it goes on :)

It’s been probably 2 years since I’ve done a brisket. And today I am testing German chocolate cake in the smoker!

Sounds like an invite 😁

Mr. Frugal here. I'm a brisket fiend and I'll bring some paper plates! :Rasta:

Day 18 update:

Todays update is brought to you by the letter B. B is for beautiful which is how these ghouls, err I mean girls, are looking.

B is also for Birthday which is why the update is a little early today. Have one of the kiddos bday parties today and then friends over this evening for some more adult like celebrations as he and the wife have their birthday.

I am experimenting to see if they have indeed reached their SIPs a filled them today. Won’t water/feed them again until Tuesday when it will be their “birthdays” and will be their first day of veg, at least in my tracker that’s how it’s going down. If they really need a drink before then I will of course give it to them.

On Tuesday I am emptying their reservoirs to fill with their fist dose of calmag and 2.5g/gal of MC.

DLI goes from 20 to 30, so a bit of a jump there and VPD will hang for another week at .7

Humidifier should have a light workload starting today - next Thursday I think it is with forecasted rain / thunderstorms each day. Makes my life easy on the veggie garden as well, have only had to water 2 times now!!!

This weeks numbers are all right where I want them and I’m expecting to see some good growth in the next 7 - 10 days and expect that they will grow into the desired DLI zone I’m aiming for.

I have also failed to mention, or if I did I forgot, that I am still PH’ing my water down to 6.0.

After all of the issues I had at the end of veg last grow I am not risking it, even though I know that this promix should buffer it down my slurry test did not yield the results I was looking for, this PH down for the win :)

Well I think that sums it up for today’s update. Here are a couple of pictures

Oh I almost forgot B also stands for brisket :) this is at the 165° mark before it got wrapped and put back in for another 5-8 hours.

Brisket looks amazing, my birthday isn't for a few months but you can plan on serving it at my party too 🤣. The girls look great as well.

Ha! @Ke0ncp you upstaged your plants with your meat! (I know that sounds a little weird, but that's what you did. :) )

The plants look good, BTW! :Rasta:
