Hydro Coco Quasi Hempy Grow

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

Thanks for the kind words everybody!
That nug is from the private reserve jar. It's been in cure since early November.
I took the shots outside to avoid using a flash and sure enough it picks up a hair in the shot :smokin2:
Tmac, here's another pipe shot, one of my faves...

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

right on i'll keep the sns in mind for the future
since i have only grown with soil i've never used a tds but i thought i'd see what i was doing with the coco since i've never tested it i thought it might help me dial it in better
it turned out it was pretty low 445ppm in 450 out and i was thinking i needed to start bumping it up more the plants have been seeming to want more nutes and i think that verified i've just been going light getting used to coco just was curious what you thought

Your light intensity will also play a part in how strong your nute solution is.
Look at lighting as another nutrient...
The more intense the light, sun, hid, & even strong t5ho & led will cause your plants to eat more often and in larger quantities.
Lower intensity lights like cfl, low power led, and low powered t5ho will cause the garden to eat less.
If you're working with high powered lighting start at half strength nutes and work up 'till you see them burn slightly. If you're working with cfl type intensity start at the lowest mix ratio and work up.

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

right now there under t5ho 4 ft 4tubes
they reacted good to that feeding and seem to want more still so i'll stay on track and work up a little
its good to get input thanks manRoorRip

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

Thanks bandit! The only problem I have with bombing the lil bastards is that my veg is right next to my flower section. Like I said, I upped the dosage on the spray and treated them 3 times this week and they're still there. For the girls in flower I'm spraying the leaves being careful not to hit any of the flowers plus I've also been spraying down a paper towel and wiping the leaves. I need something that I can treat the whole plant with and not just the leaves. I would hate to have to scrap my grow because of some bugs:smokin2:

I never heard of the Jungle rain, I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
Yeah that's the biggest problem with bombing is having to clear out the bloom cab before detonation ;)
Jungle Rain is a great old school product, been around for years but does'nt get a lot of love for some reason. It's not the greatest pesticide, heck it's not even really a pesticide but more of a wash and deterent to pests. It will give your garden the same effect like what a nice Summer rain does for an outdoor grow. Leaves the plants looking lush and healthy and it's not harmful to us or animals. Excellent for washing away pesticide residue. It comes in a spray bottle or you can save $ buying the big refill bottle if you already have a spray bottle.
The refill bottle is a concentrate and mixes at about 100ml per gallon of water

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

I owe many thanks to Bob Marley for keeping me Irie! I grew up with an uncle of mine, we were pretty close. He scored me my first Bob Marley tape, and joint.

Sitting on the edge of Bell in the Los Angeles sewer.. I mean river, tokin and feeling the words of Mr. Bob Marley. He and Kaya will forever be in my life. :Namaste:

Cool thanks Bandit, I'll check the local shops and see if I can find it. Is this stuff safe on the flowers? I posted a while back in FAQs and was given a few ideas on getting rid of them but nothing definite, not sure I want to do the tobacco/garlic thing. From what I've gathered the thrips never really go away and you confirmed that when you talked of being bitter rivals.

That's so cool sisco! I lived in Montebello when I was 14 or 15 and used to go to the L.A. River to smoke. I lived two streets over off of Whittier and 5th, we would take the boom box and a couple joints and sit there for hours.

That's great stuff fellas! I'm a NorCal Native...Our river spot was the Eel River up in the Humboldt hills..Lil' bit cleaner than the LA River but same groovy vibe lol!

Yeah I dont know what's up with thrips. I think they're gone and then they pop up a few months down the road. I guess they're real ez for me to get. I need to look into a natural predator and release it outside. That's how I wiped out spider mites.

I got the bob marley calender for this grow. for growth calculations and keeping track of my weeks i guess. But good old bob has been giving the grow room good vibes the whole time. When he's smiling in the calendar,i like to believe that he is smiling at my crop. I believe he would be. :)

Having a Bob Marley calender on the grow room wall is like a Christian having a cross on the wall. Gets you in tight with the Ganja Gods ;)

Bandit,
which one's are the lucky girls first.

Decisions, decisions lol!

Well the Cali Connection seeds are regulars so I'm gonna have to go a little old school with those and do the whole sexing thing.
Kush & LA Woman are my favorites so they go to the front of the line.
Blackwater which is Mendo Purps x San Fernando Valley OG Kush has the chance to be amazing and nobody else here is growing it so it's very high up there.
Right now my OG Kush is clone only. I have no more beans of it so if I let it go that's it unless I order more beans. Letting her go is a very difficult decision. I love this strain and I would'nt even consider it if I did'nt have these two Cali Connection strains.
Tangerine Dream won the 2010 Cannabis Cup so that has my curiosity up there. So does the freebies Il Diavolo & California Hash Plant.
So I think the plan will be this...
Pop LA Woman & Blackwater and find my next two mother plants from those to do full crops of those strains later.
At the same time I'll pop the TD, Il Diavolo, Bubbleicious & Papaya. Those will be one and done grows.

So after this current crop finishes I would like to load up the bloom cab with a multi strain harvest of Blackwater 1-4 plants, LA Woman 2-3 plants, TD 1 plant, Il Diavolo 1 plant, Bubbleicious 1 plant, Papaya 1 plant, Cali Hash Plant 1 plant, and either Vanilla or Afghan Kush 1 plant. All will be from seed and it will be a rodeo for sure!
Whichever Blackwater and LAW plant is the best, it will be cloned. The 2 best clones from those will become my next mama plants. By the time they are nice big mamas, all of those plants from seed should be ready for chop and I'll start pulling clones for full runs of Blackwater & LAW.

When I'm tired of Blackwater I'll replace it with Chem Valley Kush. As for all the other beans, they will be popped for the 2011 outdoor season

Edit for a money saving deal alert: last week my 12" Air King wall mount fan gave up on me after 4 years of reliable service. I bought it used so who knows how old it really was. I went to the hydroshop to buy another but they wanted a whopping $65 for the thing. No Way!!!
I came home and did some googling and found a company called USA Industrial Supply out of Illinois selling them for only $25. $35 after shipping. I ordered it on Saturday and it was just now left at my door in a plain brown box. Same new fan as the hydroshop for less than half the price.

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

Wow did I fall way behind!

I also used the spray bottle to hit any gnats that were flying or rooting around the surface of the medium on all the plants. This stuff makes for some great anti aircraft artillery on these little buggers. Knocks them down immediatley and puts them in a world of hurt.

Could you get us some video of this brother? I'd love to see you blasting them like real life space invaders:cheertwo:

The garden is in full throttle mode now. I'm at full strength FloraNova, Bloombastic, and FloraNectar.
The ladies are also being gassed. I have the ring of gas tubing running thru eyebolts bolted into the walls of the cab. The tubing is right at cola level and in some cases a gas emmiter hole is only millimeters away from the plants.
Everything is getting very frosty too. The three test plants I gave Bloombastic to started showing better than the rest of the garden so the entire garden is on Bloombastic now instead of only half.

It looks awesome Bandito!

Last night we celebrated Winter's retreat with 80 degree daytime temps and the anticipation of Spring Football firing up next week.

Re: Bandit420's Hydro Coco A GoGo

I was excited to read you are planning 10 more months on this journal, I enjoy reading words from someone who does not mess around. I just caught up on the whole thing at work and now I am ready to follow along.

I like the mixture of plants, good grow technique, accessories, nutes, equip, and glass.

Looking forward to this years read. good Job Bandit.
