Here's the update for November 2...

Day 46.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 3/46 - 30,000 lux - 17" from light - 6" tall
Leaf tip discolouration clearly visible under lights, why is that?

Day 46-2.JPG

AK-48 Autoflower Day 13/46 - 53,400 lux - 9" from light - 24" tall
@BudgetLED, do you think I should raise the lights to keep them 12" from plant? How close is safe?

Day 17.JPG

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 17 - 23,000 lux - 23" from light - 1.75" tall

Both of these seedlings showed a little vertical growth overnight.

That's all folks!

In our internal testing 10 to 12 inches is as close as you need to go in flower to maximize ppfd needed in flowering.

You can back off though tho to about 14 to 16 inches until you are in peak bud development

Thank you! How bad is it if the plant grows closer to the light when I have it up as high as it will go? How close is safe?

My tent is 60" and I can get the light up maybe 4 more inches which will put it 13" above the AK-48 at the moment but she's still growing. I'll have to learn super cropping and other techniques to keep my plants shorter.

Safe wise, the plant can almost touch it. However, it may get burn signs.

You should be able to double the hanger ends back to the hanging point to get more height if needed.

Or an alternative is to reduce down to two hanging wires looped through on the ends to get more height. I can draw it up if you need a visual.

Good to know! Those are great ideas for adjusting the hangers, hadn't thought of that. Thanks for all the support. Hope your sponsorship here on 420mag is paying off!

Not a problem at all.

Its picking up because of awesome journals like yours, @Dutchman1990 and @John Wick. You all are helping showcase our awesome lighting.

what do you think is causing the yellowing on the tips of the new growth
Those yellow tips are a very slight case of nutrient burn- to me,that means the nutes are just right- the plant is getting the max it can handle at this time. (the "sweet spot")
If it starts to get worse, back the MC off about half a gram per gallon...

Here's my Purple Punch auto- the leaf tips have looked like that for the last month-
(sorry for the blurry pic-my pos camera randomly decides to not focus up close)
ppa.jpg

Same with the GDPxGB auto:
gdp x gba.jpg

They're both at 6g per gallon, and the burn hasn't gotten any worse...
that yellowing leaf on the Purple Punch is because she's pretty close to done.

So I wouldn't be too concerned with it unless it starts to get worse, but I don't think it will.

Thank you! Now I know what to look for. And just now I accidentally over-fed one of my seedlings, the Chocolate Haze. I had some leftover premixed 5g/gn and totally forgot to dilute it. Hope she isn't fried!

MegaCrop is pretty forgiving,so you'll probably be ok...

You could just run a healthy quantity of plain water through her container to wash it out, then give her the proper dose if it worries you- but if you were already feeding 4g per gal. then I wouldn't worry about an extra gram.

Update for November 3...

Day 47-5.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 4/47 - 31,000 lux - 14" from light - 6.75" tall

Day 47-3.JPG

AK-48 Autoflower Day 14/47 - 50,000 lux - 11" from light - 26.75" tall

Raised the lights about 5 inches but the AK-48 grew close to 3" overnight so we are almost where we started. I can raise them a little bit more if necessary which will probably be tomorrow.

Day 18-2.JPG

Chocolate Haze - Day 18 - 25,200 lux - 21" from light - 2.75" tall

For some reason her pot was dry but my notes say she was fed a litre on October 30 just like the PCD. In any case I gave her another litre with Megacrop. I had intended to dilute the premixed nutes by 50% but forgot and fed her 5gm/gn. As carcass suggests I could flush her but I think I'll let her ride it out. If she looks bad I'll flush in a day or two.

Day 18.JPG

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 18 - 23,400 lux - 23" from light - 1.75" tall

I love the way this PCD is growing. The fifth node is growing in now so the quadlining will begin in two days. On Tuesday, I will remove nodes 1 and 2, then give her some time to recover and two days later, on Thursday, I will top her. Dates and times subject to change.

Update for November 4...

Day 48-2.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 5/48 - 36,500 lux - 13" from light - 7.5" tall
There should be half-a-dozen or so nice colas by the looks of things.

Day 48-1.JPG

AK-48 Autoflower Day 15/48 - 59,500 lux - 9" from light - 28.75" tall

This lady is surprising me with her continuing growth, another 2" today. She loves her new light! Meanwhile her buds are beginning to shape-op nicely. Loving the Megacrop, no deficiencies and no hassle!

Day 19.JPG

Chocolate Haze - Day 19 - 24,500 lux - 21" from light - 3" tall

So far no ill effects arising from giving her 5g/gn Megacrop instead of the 2.5g/gn she should have had. There is some discolouration on those big fan leaves so I raised the light an inch or so just in case.

Day 19.JPG

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 19 - 23,400 lux - 23" from light - 1.75" tall
A little bit of leaf curling. My guess is that the fan is bothering her so I aimed it away from her. Also raised the light a bit. Could be watering but she's only been watered once in this container six days ago. Otherwise she looks healthy.

Update for November 5...

Day 49.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 6/49 - 28,000 lux - 17" from light - 7.5" tall

Day 49-1.JPG
Day 49-2.JPG

AK-48 Autoflower Day 16/49 - 41,000 lux - 12.5" from light - 30" tall

This autoflower has exceeded my expectations by continuing to stretch toward the sky. Raised the light again for optimal distance from cola. The light cannot go any higher until I get some ratchet hangers at which point I should be able to get another 8".

Fed anther 7 litres of tap water with 6.5gm/gn Megacrop. Will be checking leaf tips carefully for burn but I think this plant can easily take it.

Day 20.JPG

Chocolate Haze - Day 20 - 23,300 lux - 22" from light - 3" tall

Not ready for topping, fifth node coming in but not enough for surgery. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 20, after topping.
There is still some leaf curling but at this point I'm going into denial about it for awhile, hopefully it will be better when I'm ready to deal with it again!

That's it for now, thanks for dropping by!

Your gardens are looking great Hutch!
That AK is growing so much faster than the Lamb’s Breath. I wonder why.
Well done on getting your quads going. They are going to reward you with weight.

Update for November 6...

Day 50-2.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 7/50 - 32,000 lux - 16" from light - 8.5" tall

This LB is finally starting to grow vertical. In a few more days I will trim out the bottom vegetation and some of the inward facing leaves, a little at a time.

Day 21-1.JPG

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 21 - 23,000 lux - 23" from light - 2" tall

Gave this PCD a day's rest from the topping yesterday and we are ready to complete the quadline surgery. I removed nodes one and two leaving the fan leaves and side branching on nodes 3 and 4.
Day 21-2.JPG

Also use garden staples to hold the leaves on node three down a bit.

Day 21-3.JPG

We are ready now to let the side branches grow out a bit before stapling them down as well.

Also today fed 1 litre of tap water with 3gm/gn Megacrop and raised the light about a foot to see if that helps the leaf curling. With that in mind we also added water containers and a wet towel to get the humidity up a bit. Not as high as that hygrometer that says 70%, actual is about 45%.

Thanks for dropping by!

Thank you! I think the Lambs Breath is growing slower because of the LST, this happened the last time I grew LB as well. She is taking off now so there should be some nice vertical growth over the next few days. I've never seen the kind of growth the AK is displaying but before I didn't have these sweet lights and the MegaCrop.

Here's the update for November 7...

Day 51.JPG

Lambs Breath Autoflower Day 8/51 - 35,000 lux - 15" from light - 9" tall

Removed a few fan leaves at the base and one side shoot that would never amount to anything. Also fed 6 litres tap-water with 5.5g/gn Mega Crop, this is down from the 6g that seemed to burn the tips.

Day 51-2.JPG

AK-48 Autoflower Day 18/51 - 46,000 lux - 10" from light - 32.25" tall

Three more days of stretch? Need to order ratchet hangers for the light or we will be in trouble very soon even though she has slowed down to an inch a day. Not sure if she is as green as she should be. It's hard to tell from this photo but I would expect her to be darker. Last feeding was 6.5g/gn but she's a pretty large plant so hopefully 7 - 7.5 grams won't burn too much when I feed her in a few days.

Day 22.JPG

Chocolate Haze - Day 22 - 20,000 lux - 25" from light - 3.5" tall
I will be topping the CH later today. Not sure about quadding though, we'll see.

Day 22.JPG

Phantom Cookies Domina - Day 22 - 19,000 lux - 27" from light - 2" tall

Shoots are growing out nicely from nodes 3 and 4. Leaf curling is somewhat under control thanks to the folks on the MegaCrop thread. Light stress seems to have been the main culprit which I addressed by raising the lights. I also improved the humidity by adding open water and a wet towel to the tent.

Everything's doing great Hutch!
They're all looking fantastic, but that AK48 is a real standout!
Not sure if she is as green as she should be.
She may just be a lighter green plant-one of mine is light green, and the other is dark green, ever since sprout-
