How to Make Feminized Seeds With Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro LED

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I am a bit confused here (ok maybe I got stoned more then once since I read this) about when to start spritzing.

I thought the time to start spritzing (not spraying) CS was the day before the switch to 12/12.

Now it appears that the optimal time to start is when the pistils show. Btw I added a bit more spritzing to the lone branches in the greenhouse that now includes a few droplets on the buds. I want to be on the successful side this round.

Guess I am still learning but glad to have a mentor.

Yeah no problem. Ultimately we all decide for ourselves how we do things.

But other people read our postings,

and might think because you're doing something different I'm Ok with it.

I think you would have done better if you really read the thread.

You burned your plants by overspraying, and now you're afraid to spray.

Overspraying is something I discuss continuously in this journal.

Spraying Colloidal Silver is the best, and easiest way, but it just needs to be done right.

Spritzing buds, and nodes works great, and the plants handle it fine.

This is the first time I'm using it..haven't even made it yet.
You sounded you like to experiment etc so I was thinking of experimenting too, and with the thoughts of conserving it, and not getting it on the clone right next to it. I thought it would work. I'm, sorry that your upset at the idea of me talking about trying something different.
If you like let me know and I'll delete my two posts.

No it's cool. I got you now. No worries about deleting anything.

Were here to discuss Colloidal Silver, and were doing that, so it's all good.

Any Colloidal Silver questions should be asked. This is the place for it.

The pistils thing is for auto growers like me who are feminizing regular seeds.

You can't waste time spraying a male plant. So you need to wait for pistils.

A photoperiod grower who's using clones can start early because sex is already known.

So it's recommended you start the day before 12/12, and take advantage of early spritzing.

So it's a photoperiod vs auto technique. I didn't think I was getting too stoned. Lol

Yeah well the flip to 12/12 is to promote flowering,

So spritzing the Colloidal Silver early gets the jump on the hormone switch.

I guess that's the logic anyway. Seems to me you could wait for pistils, and it would still work.

It would take longer for no reason, because you know what your spritzing.

Hey Toker, I have success in collecting my CS pollen. It don't look like much , but I know it will go along way. Here are a few pics of how I am drying the branches in hopes of gathering a little more pollen. I have a new 2 week old that should show me sex within a week. It will be the receiver of the collected pollen.

Looks cool! I wish I could see the sacs tho!!

I like your passive pollen collection chamber.

How long did you spray Colloidal Silver? :thumb:

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I sprayed 31 days then saw a sac, let plant keep growing for 4 more weeks and started different collection techniques. The method I ended up with was, after cutting mature branches in a room with no air flow, I held the branches inside a tall mason jar and slightly thumped the end if the branch I was holding. You could see the pollen release and slowly drift downward. It was the powdery pollen. Here is a couple of pics I took about a week before harvesting.

They do look like powdery sacs. Congrats! :cheertwo:

How are you storing it for two weeks?

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I am letting it dry for a few days in an uncovered mason jar that is in a drawer of a dresser that I don't use. Then I will seal it and put it in the fridge.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Well good luck. I like to pop mine into the fridge ASAP myself.

You could add a tiny bit of flour to help dry, and increase volume.

I hope it's a girl. :)

In the fridge it goes then... Lol. It's because of your CS journal I give a lot of credit for where I am in fem seed propogation. Still haven't produced any seeds but I am half way there .Thank you very much for your knowledge, your experiments and your time. I will keep a photo journal of my progress and keep you updated. .... \m/ : )

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Thanks buddy! Good luck. I hope you make a lot of feminized seeds dude.

But also when you're ready to use your pollen after you pull your container outta the fridge.

Let it sit and warm up to room temperature before you even open it. :peace:

Today I start the three day colloidal silver spray test! Look closely. and you can see a branch with a zip tie.

CS-SPRAY-DAY-ONE-3.png

I cup the bud in between my fingers, and give it a wider spray.

The next two days will be a more focused spritz on the center.

CS-SPRAY-DAY-ONE-2.png

I'll do the three days of colloidal silver treatments only, and wait a little over two weeks.

And we'll see what we get!! :)

After 15 days of spraying colloidal silver, and a 10 plus days pollenation a Buddha's Cross test bud is harvested.

After all I'd hate to wait 40 days, and find nothing. So these little nugs are opened to see if I've got fem seeds.

Yes! 30 seeds inside, and five, or six look kinda mature!! WOW

I'm really excited about how many feminized seeds were packed in these tiny nuggs. :)

This means my Buddha's Cross seeds are a success. BAMM BABY! :goof:
