After drying my pile of nanners 24 hours I rub the nanners loose between my hands.

The nanners break loose easily, and I use my sifter to separate them from the plant matter.

I grind the loose nanners between my fingers a bit. Not a heavy grind tho.

I use my 1/8 tsp scoop to sprinkle some nanners on one of my Mystery Seeds buds. (one bud only)

I'm testing this method of pollination on this bud, because I wonder if the dry/grind nanners are viable.

I mark the bud with a zip tie so I won't forget I'm testing the dry/grind nanners.

I use the rest of the nanners up on the buds of the Buddha's Cross.

I'll leave these like this a few days, and then clean up a bit.

Colloidal Silver fem seeds should be ready 40 days from today! :)

Here's where the test bud is everyone. (red arrow) Testing the dry, and grind nanner pollination method.

Finally caught up wow!! Fantastic knowledge shared here Toke!! You are the man!
Iam ordering some today..
So let me make sure I understand this been reading trying to catch up for 3 days lol
So if Iam using feminized seeds I can start spraying the day before I switch the lights then spray just the nodes and buds from there on out till I see the nanners, do I keep spraying them till they open or just pop them off and set them on the buds you want to pollinate?
Thanks brother

Well the nanners grow in stages, and young geen nanners are not viable,

so I wait for the nanners to mature, and show signs of age before plucking them.

I don't think the yellow banana looking ones are good either.

What you want is something older, and in decline, and ready to fall apart.

Let the nanner hit the ripe stage before pulling. More, and more ripe nanners come every day,

and by day ten you have a ridiculous number of ripe nanners.

Use those in the dry, and grind last pollination, and bamm! Your done in 40 more days.

Just stopping in to say what up TOKE!!

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I decided to do a branch on a couple of the ones in the greenhouse.

Golden Goat, Original Cookies and Holy Grail Kush.

I picked one lower branch on 3 plants/strains. I am only spraying the stems and nodes. Trying to avoid spraying on the leaves. After spritzing a few droplets onto the stems I rub it all along the stem. Guess this will be an experiment also.

I started lightly spritzing the original ones I started also. Backed off for a bit after they looked damaged from the original spraying. Still growing though and something is happening at the nodes. Need to get out the trichome inspector and get a better look.

So what is your take on this Toker?

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Yeah like I said it will probably still work, and I've seen worse off get nanners.

Keep spritzing Colloidal Silver on the nodes, and buds. You can spray the stems if you like. :)

The buds seem to take it much better than the leaves do. Spritz them daily.

Hey Toker69 have you ever tried feeding the plant colloidal silver via the roots?

I was wondering the same thing the other day.

No I haven't, but it may work. You never know until you try.

It might cost a lot as a soil drench tho. It's pretty cheap just to spritz some Colloidal Silver.

Yeah, I don't know If I would want to try it in soil... it would take a large amount.

But with hydro..pouring a cup of diluted CS over the roots a few times during switch over might do something.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

If you try it be sure, and let us know how it works out.

I'll admit I can't possibly try every Colloidal Silver idea.

Like anyone I'm growing for meds, and am demonstrating what works for me.

Maybe you could spray the roots in hydro? idk

I can't afford 50,000 failures like Mr Edison's invention of the light bulb.

But if the idea is about Colloidal Silver seed feminizing you're welcome to try it, and share it here.

I still think using Colloidal Silver as a root treatment might be kinda expensive.

TEST-HBD-820-14.png

Here's the test subject of my next Colloidal Silver experiment.

I've seen pistils, so if this was a self pollination I'd start spraying the lower branches now.

But this time I'm going to spritz one side branches top cola for three days.

So I gotta wait for a top cola to grow. :)

I'm not of a mind to do so presently.
But what I am going to do is try to just use a little paint brush and just brush it on the nodes and new growth there, starting about a week before I switch the lights.
Ill probably start with twice a day...till that gets old... er I mean then switch down to once a day until I see her little balls.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

The Colloidal Silver is in a delicate state of suspension, and highly reactive to whatever it touches.

You're using a solution 50 PPM. That means only 50 outta a million parts are silver.

It's very sensitive, and that's why it's stored in dark glass, or plastic.

Using a paintbrush could be neutralizing your Colloidal Silver as you apply it.

That's why we use the plastic spray bottles.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I do have a brown dropper bottle I could use and just drip it on :cheesygrinsmiley:

I dont want to spray because of splashing etc, tight cabinet.
So ill try the drops on one and see how it goes.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Yeah no problem. Ultimately we all decide for ourselves how we do things.

But other people read our postings,

and might think because you're doing something different I'm Ok with it.

I think you would have done better if you really read the thread.

You burned your plants by overspraying, and now you're afraid to spray.

Overspraying is something I discuss continuously in this journal.

Spraying Colloidal Silver is the best, and easiest way, but it just needs to be done right.

Spritzing buds, and nodes works great, and the plants handle it fine.
