I chopped my Ice plant today. I should have around 3 oz to work with. Does the bud need to be completely cured (4-6 weeks) or just well dried? If I dry till it is well dried then put it in the freezer, will that be ok? Or should I Jar it and cure it?
Don't put it into the freezer. That will create chaos with fresh bud.
The oil will be only as good as the flower. You're call: cure/dry or just dry.
If just drying, put it on a tray in the oven at 100°f (no hotter or you lose terpenes & oils) for an hour. This will not affect your potency, bud, oil, ect.
Grind it up & recheck the moisture. If still wet, back to the oven for 15-30 mins.
Note that this is NOT decarbing.
Unless you're in a hurry, I'd dry it well by hanging for at least 3-4 days, then jar it up & burb it.
For oil, I wouldn't cure over 2 weeks.
Drying to jars keeps illness afar. Sorry, it's Hump Day.
Even when the branches are crisp & snap, there's still tons of moisture inside the buds. To bring that out, you need to cure. Dried buds are only dry on the exterior. If you had frozen it, the moisture inside the buds reeks havoc on the trichomes, will pull chlorophyll, & makes the oil nasty.
Yep.
I've dried not cured several times. The potency is all right, but it's just nasty oil.
But... in a pinch, the oven drying works well.
Hello,
After stripping the cannabis with the solvent, can you keep it in a storage container to evaporate the mix at a later time or does one immediately have to cook it?
I was planning on stripping the cannibis and putting the mix into a glass jar for later but am not sure if this would have any negative implications.
Thanks in advance
