How not to be a salt farmer or a wasteful grower tips

Stopped down the beach this morning and grabbed a couple 5ga buckets full of seaweed to amend bins and compost with and add a little to next tea feeding.

Happy to see my friends are back, saw a small doe on side of road not far from home and was afraid it might’ve been one of my regular visitors but they’re ok

Plan for next weekends feeding:
I’ve already added another small handful of worms to each pot and the buds to worms and compost. I grabbed the seaweed and rinsed, blended on pulse with diluted molasses and covered in 5ga buckets. If new growth doesn’t appear to be responding to the last top dressing by Wednesday or so I will do my first foliar feeding early. This weekend they will get normal tea with addition of some seaweed tea. Finally had a couple days without rain and plants are doing well, as in not getting any more yellow and dancing under the sun. Let’s see how it goes.

Ok, what am I discovering so far. I cheated a little on the non fed clone by increasing the ratio of EWC, worms, and compost and low and behold she is doing the best of the 3 clones without any top dressing or feeding other than rain so far.

Electro is proving to be bro science for this plant at least

And fed clone is there in middle but not as good as non-fed one with more EWC, worms and compost in base mix

And momma still looking hungry so we shall see what this Wednesdays foliar and this weekends feeding can do…

And yes, it is raining yet again, but they’ve had 2 days to absorb at least before this rain.

Did first foliar last night and in process fell onto fed clone so we get to watch more recovery too soon.

Ok, if you haven’t been following along I’m a worm fanatic and I mentioned not too long ago I discovered red worms and wiggle worms are much better for reproduction in captivity so I broke down and bought a 500 pack of them to add to my worm bins, compost and pots. They came in last night so I was up at 4 am getting them all acclimated to their new homes. Also, after that I got a few clones prepped for distribution including one that I fully prepped in a 10 ga pot for a friend I’m teaching to grow. This clone I used @Bill284 layering method except instead of coco it’s perlite, ewc, pro mix and repeat with a handful of worms in center. The other clones were delivered in solo cups to friends and the bike trail this morning - about 11 in all. I will be feeding tonight with compost tea, diluted molasses and seaweed tea. I will follow up tomorrow with pics update. I will also be sprinkling some bone meal on top for momma as it’s just about time for her to start pigging out on P as well.

I see you did some homework last night :thumb:
Did you see my Heaven's Shores thread there is much better pictorials in there.
Hope your plans go well Amigo :high-five:

Stay safe

We have our granddaughter’s 9th birthday party today so I’ll send out updates this evening

I abandoned the electro culture testing as that is still the least performing clone and I needed to shore up the broken fed clone and used one of the rods to do it :)

Just replaced key stop at beach house, saved a few grand doing it myself for about $70 in materials :)

Ok, time to try and be tactful. One of the methods I experimented with touted elimination of pest problems and it truly did significantly reduce the problem both indoors and out, I never have seen anything that can eliminate pests more than let’s say 50-60%. My SNS and Neem have always been called upon no matter what levels I had achieved. That’s not to say I would discourage anyone ever from using that method because it works great, just be mindful that there’s a certain amount of salesmanship and marketing that goes into anything. Heck, every day I’m promoting worms and organics so I’m not innocent either. I happen to think I’m promoting what’s best for us all and I’m sure most others are trying to do the same whether or not we agree on the same processes to achieve that goal…

It’s raining again, I swear April and May got moved to July and August this year. No complaints, just a strange year.

More rain and a foliar feeding today.

The story behind the broken clone. I was doing first foliar feeding last week and as I was going around I felt something underfoot that I was sure I didn’t want to crush and in process of rebalancing myself I fell over and bent the fed clone completely in half on main stem. All that just to avoid crushing a cucumber it turned out to be ;)
