Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

I have a very hard time cloning too. :rip: I just dont know what it is but in a few years might start to figure it out, I have a ton of seeds to go through first.
Lol. True... That is a good problem to have.

I had a pleasant surprise this morning. The picture below on the left-hand side is what the cuttings looked like last night and on the right-hand side is how they looked this morning.

The two cuttings on the left look much healthier and less droopy this morning which is a great sign because there was only about 60% humidity in the dome. The fact that these two are also the ones that received the rooting hormone makes me hope that maybe they have small roots starting already.

I could be totally wrong about them having roots but the fact they are doing so well I think I will close up the container and go for maximum humidity as the instructions say. It could be the wrong move but I can’t say I tested the system if I am not going to abide by it. But by this morning’s results, I think it may be working so I am going to have faith and go along despite my doubts.

So this morning I sprayed inside the container and closed it up for maximum humidity like the instructions below say. Also, the instructions say that even by tomorrow only 50% of plants would have roots showing so I may have some started with not showing yet.

Today's instructions:

DAY 6

Close the dome vents on Day 6.

Keep spraying clones once in morning and once at night. You should now see some roots breaking through the Jiffy 7 peat pellets for several of the clones.

We have closed the dome vents again on Day 6 because we want extreme humidity now that clone roots are starting to show. Trapping the water in the tray with vents closed creates the best environment for roots to grow rapidly.

They are survivors they’ll root if they can.
I feel pretty confident about the big one and even the one beside it which are the two that got rooting hormone. Next batch I think I'll try taking all big ones like the one on the left and trying with and without hormone again. I took the one on the far right out because it was actually turning black so I think it's done. Checked it for roots and no hint of any.

I need to check mine at lights on.
Good luck. I hope they're looking good.

Every day in the garden is a surprise. That leaf browning I had on my vegging Chemawg that I had at 3.0 g per gallon seems to have stopped at 3.5 g per gallon. Now my Amnesia plant that is late into bloom getting 4.5 g per gallon MC is starting to show some leaf damage so I'm going to bump that up to 5 g per gallon.

For me the secret with MC is to keep it really low so when I have a problem I know I need to go up.

My iPhone 7 battery is getting to the point I'm constantly recharging it but since it is in pretty good shape otherwise and does everything I need it to I ordered a new battery online for about $28. The new battery actually has 25% more capacity than the original battery so I was pretty excited.

They gave me all the tools I need to pry it apart and such with the battery but once I got it back together the home button didn't work and it looks like I tore the little ribbon cable that holds the two sides together. What a fragile thing. They really didn't give much warning about how delicate it was, either that or I'm a ham-fisted knucklehead.

Anyway, no roots today and with no phone no pics. Tomorrow I have to fight the Christmas crowds to go buy a phone I don't really want. :(

I’ve never taken an iPhone apart but I can see them easy to break.
I never have before either but I figured I was just throwing away money replacing a good phone because of a bad battery. The little ribbon cable had a 90° dog leg and that's where it tore on the inside corner. Funny thing is the battery takes up about 60 or 70% of the space so there's really hardly anything to the actual phone.

I’ll run my iPhone 8 until the wheels fall of. Lol
That was my plan with my iPhone 7 but the snag was my technical skills, LOL.

According to the directions I am going by being day eight, I should be seeing roots on 90% of my cuttings and I see nary a root. I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed but not really surprised because my other system that works about 80% of the time has real problems with this strain also.

I have two days left with this method so I am going to keep things sealed up for a couple more days but I am afraid I am just stunting them again because they are happy with the humidity so why grow roots.

I think I will just keep the two on the left that got the hormone because the one on the right isn’t looking too promising and in a few days I will take two more cuttings as insurance. One thing this system did was illustrate to me that I can really control the humidity by carefully controlling how much the lid is open and using my hygrometer.

So I think next I will try to give the plants just enough humidity under the dome to stay alive but not to thrive and I will keep the soil pretty dry. Not really sure what to try next but that’s my plan but I really need to keep this strain alive so I hope at least a big one on the left survives.

I picked up my new iPhone today. I got there when they opened so I was in and out in no time. I usually get the smallest phone I can because with work it was easiest to carry around but now that I am retired I actually use my phone more like a tablet streaming so I decided to go with the biggest iPhone which is actually pretty sweet. Now that I have it I’m actually glad I do. Looking forward to checking out the cameras too on it. This is the first pic I took with it.

DAY 8 & 9

By day 8 or 9 you should see roots on 90% or more of the clones. At this time you should add half liter of water (~2 cups) that has been infused with a light concentration of grow nutrients to the grooves in cloning tray.

Keep vents closed on dome which will add nutrient to the humidity in the cloning tray. Over the next day roots may triple in size.

Continue spraying with water for day 8 and 9.
