High Brix

Thats great news Docbud! You never cease to amaze me with your updates wow! The photo with the L2 light in it, how close is it to the plant? It looks to be about 8 inches to me.
My 1000k light is also sealed and feels warm, but not hot to the touch, I am keeping it about two feet from the canopy can I get closer as the plants mature?

Nice, I just moved mine into the "old" mix in 5gal buckets the other day, so I should be off to the races soon. As of last night they all looked super happy and standing up tall...its weird sometimes you can just "feel it" when the plants are happy :)

is of a lone SF Berry, that started life in the greenhouse in a one gallon pot, and finished life under indoor lighting in the same 1 gallon pot. I'll yield about 4 oz from her, but she needs water daily and her brix isn't too good. It's the tallest plant in the garden and that pic was taken from about 10 feet away.

You CAN feel it! High Brix plants have a different electromagnetic spectrum. The move much faster too. Take a plant in the corner and rotate the pot 180 degrees, so the leaves are facing the wrong way. Light up a fat joint and you can sit there and watch the plant re-orient itself to the light before you're done with the joint!

That light is about 8 inches from the top of the plant, but it's also on a mover. If it was right over the plant, there would be burning. Canopy temps, and the presence of light bleaching are the only reasons to raise your lights. If the canopy temp is good, and the leaves aren't burned or bleached, don't raise the lights. More light is better, to a point.

Thanks man! Just trying to put rumor to rest! LoL. I forgot you have light movers.:bigblush:

Outstanding pics Doc. They look fantastic!

Due to financial limitations the current grow is more of a "brixperiment", not as true as yours is, but I'll wait for your results and hopefully purchase the necessities for the next grow.

Other than 1 bag of promix, this soil mix is what was left over from previous grows. Cleaned off the shelf, lol
2 bag Promix Organic
8 qts perlite
10 qts MagikMoss
4 cup mineral pre mix (the srp etc, azomite, boron)
3 cup Fox Farm Peace of Mind Tomato organic 7-4-5
1 cup OC+, that seems like a lot, but it's a tbsp per gallon. and 1/2 cup DM Red
silly me forgot to add the worm castings, so it was top dressed.

The plants are freaking loving it.

This is my WW clone/mom on a mini scrog. I tuck them under the screen and before you know it they are standing tall again.

I remember you mentioning you were going to use some BPN, are you going to incorporate it to this grow some how?

One last thing, I started a thread that got "0" replies, not even are you kidding or WTF are you doing. Can you take a peek and give me your opinion?

Boring pics of vegging plants.....except a couple promising things stand out:

1.)Plants all have the shine...even the 3 that got fed a drench about 20 times stronger than they should have
2.)Leaf to pre-flower ratio is the lowest I've seen
3.)Pistil formation seems a day or two earlier than usual.

I've given them each a single spray of Bloomit and 2 sprays of Brixblaster, both of which are foliar sprays that encourage reproductive growth. So far, so good. This grow appears to be on track.

very nice doc, its clear high brix is the future for growers, i just cant get all the stuff to do it myself as i have not found most of the stuff needed in garden centers by me, id love to improve my soil as its not the best, i just need an easy mix to do that will improve my compost mix, my compost is peat moss if i remember right, i got to get some perlite to sort out the water issues ive been having, growth was very slow but i soon found out that when i watered it was either running through the pot and out the bottom or when i sprayed the water on it looked like it was soaking in but when i scraped back the top inch it was clear the top inch was holding the water and not letting it soak in, it was as if the water had turned to mud on top of the pot and it stayed their, so i poked some holes in the compost and watered from the bottom and the growth was shocking after just a few hours, the plants looked a whole lot better, so ive been having soil problems,

im sure ill be able to get everything i need to give high brix a try, im interested in teas as well, i watched a grow dvd and all this one grower used was bat guano and sheep mess for veg and bat guano and lama mess for flower and he was getting brilliant results just using that, their is so much i dont know and so much i need to know, its just going to take a while to get where i want to be, id prefer to stick with soil but im not getting the results im looking for with soil just yet

Bro.....you've got to get some Yucca! It's a fantastic wetting agent for all types of soils. I believe Sunshine mix has yucca already added, as do some others. I use it with good success. It helps keep every inch of the medium moist.

The new soil mix is kicking ass! Best "posture" of anything I've grown yet, lots of pistils compared to leaves, super healthy....wow! It would appear, at this time anyways, that the new soil is an order of magnitude better than even the most recent version of guestimated soil.

Plants barely in bloom are in the true high brix soil, plants that are nearly done are in the last batch of "rock n chicken" soil....and they're doing pretty damn well!

Foliar spray schedule:

Advanced blooming plants: Brixblaster weekly.
Early bloom: Amaze/PGR once a week, Brixblaster once a week, Enthuse 5x per week on days the others aren't used.
A week before 12/12: Bloomit/PGR once, Brixblaster once, Enthuse 5x on off days
First week of bloom: same as above

Cuttings: Enthuse

It's just working so damn well! Also, I'm using a pump sprayer with a very fine mist, concentrating on the lower surface of the leaves. Small misty droplets are better than large "plops" on the leaves, especially with the PGR, because it will twist up the leaves pretty bad. I am really eager to get the product from this batch just starting to flower!

exciting indeed! im most interested in the outcome, this year for me is all about organics and learning, high brix im planning on next year, i use a pump sprayer for all watering and spraying i take my time and water them to perfection, the ones i get i have 3 i get at the local hardware are 1 gallon (holds closer to 2) cost me 9 bux a piece, i load em up with teas and i swear the girls get excited sensing im coming in with my pumps lol but im one of those freaks that thinks we are connected to our universe on a cellular level and think plants, bugs, animals etc can "feel" our intentions and will react accordingly, strange to many ppl but i have my personal experiences that give me the anecdotal data i believe, good enough for me,
i think you are finding a great new/old way to grow these sacred, blessed plants, (you dont wanna hear my theory on why these plants exist on earth, you'll think o k this guys got a screw loose)
what im wondering about is how easy a total novice/newbie will be able to pick up this system your crafting, it seems fairly graspable to my way of thinking, (but i enjoy reading tech/data textbooks) so my perspective may be a little different, its inevitable that droves of new growers will continue at record levels for a long time to come, and a majority will likely want to do organics and such, it would be nifty if there are ways and systems they'll be able to adopt to shorten the learning curve and waste many of us have gone thru.
this really is the best hobby/occupation/lifestyle i have had, i have a massive amount of interest in about any subject, but the best most interesting ppl grow cannabis,
i loves the colors showing on the rock 'n' ckn girls i think seeing those that they are growing well and nutrients are in a good balance, in the past i would have plants ready for harvest still dark green like a young plant from me providing to much N in flower, but im learning lol
great work Doc ,sorry to babble so..im blue cheesed this morning:winkyface::passitleft:
