Hash Hounds Brixperiment with Doc's Kit

Stepp

Actually the current grow is BPN since it is already under way and it is my friends turn to pick and choose nutes and strains. He agreed to try Docs kit SO I agreed to try BPN.

That will give me time to receive Doc's kit and let it cook for a while and get it ready for the next next grow.

Current grow is a clone of the original WW I had before (the best), a Bubba Kush clone, another Dinafem Diesel, and a Dinafem WW freebie. and a clone of my own cross of AK47 x Querkle.

The next next grow with Docs Kit will most likely be the same as long as my other friend still has clones. And hopefully I will get some pollen from my White Whdow x Querkle cross of mine that I want to get some male pollen and put some on one of the WW clones giving me 75% WW and make an attempt to keep back crossing it.

Hash. Forgot to write you back. Those clones sound awesome. I remember that white widow you grew. I liked the sound of it. I think you guys will be happy with the BPN nutes. A lot of guys really like that stuff on here. I almost got some before I got docs kit. Are you going to journal the BPN grow?

What are your plans for cooking the soil? I ended up putting mine in my bedroom right in front of the electric baseboard heater. (About 6 inches away) Warm heat flows over both rubber maid bins. It is perfect. I am happy you are giving it another run with docs kit.

I doubt if I'll do a full blown journal.

Just post some pics here and there.

With a kit, it is a little more experimental territory so it helped having a journal to get advice from Doc and others.

The next kit soil will cook in a much more friendly environment than a garage in the winter. It was high 80's today.

I still have about a 1/3 bale of soil from the last kit.

Doc, any suggestions? This soil will cook at least 8 weeks til next harvest.

Is the old soil "virgin" soil, or what it used for a grow? Use the virgin....toss out the used stuff from your kit grow.

Doc, it's non virgin soil. it is from the same batch that did not cook right, so I will toss it into the veggie garden.

OOPS I misunderstood. I was thinking by virgin you meant not treated with the STARTER liquid.

it is virgin soil as it was not used to grow anything, it is what was left over and not used on the last grow.

last batch of used soil is already in the veggie garden.

Doc,

Should I mix the old 1/3 bale virgin, kit treated (START+AMENDMENT) soil with the new 2/3 bale virgin untreated and treat the whole batch with the new kit START liquid and AMENDMENT?

Or save the old 1/3 for some other project, and start with another new bale?

I'd amend the new Promix, add it to the stuff that never grew a plant and didn't cook right, cook the whole lot, and grow!

Promix HP Mycorhyzza, right?

Promix HP Mycorhyzza, right?

Promix BX Mycorhyzza and add perlite

Do you think the BX might have been the problem the last grow?

Web site says the same ingredients except BX has vermiculite, which is the reason for adding more perlite.

I don't think the trouble was the BX at all.

During my first year of grad school I learned the following axiom for diagnosis. It's just common logic, really....something school are careful to make sure we never encounter. If people thought logically, we'd have legal MJ.

Anyways, here's the axiom: When you hear hoof beats, think horses. Not Zebras!

Plants do fine in BX. HP is merely designed for indoors, where metabolism is lower and drainage becomes and issue. This is the zebra.

On the other hand, you put your soil in the refrigerator....which is designed to stop microbial activity.....there's your horses!

Cook the soil and you'll be just fine.

there really aren't a lot of photogenic buds this grow. The pot is good and tasted great, but the yield was soso and so was bud formation.

Pineapple Express is a good producer. I should have got more than 2 seeds.

Just got back from a weeks vacation. Didn't touch a computer for a week.

Lot of journal reading catching up to do,

My new grow was flipped 12/12 right before I left.

It is unbelievable how much my legendary White Widow clone has grown.

It at least tripled in size in a week and was almost touching the light. I had to do some major LST and Supercropping. It is a shame there is about 5 or 6 inches between nodes on that strain.

The other plants are also very healthy, but no where the growth of the Widow.

Using BPN high yield Farmers Organic.

Next project will be getting the another batch of Doc's soil cooking.

Everyone I have turned on to the washed high brix likes it. Except one guy I gave some to turned another guy on and he said he didn't like it. Two days later he called him and asked if he could get some. Sorry, head stash only.

Who can you say "I don't like that smoke" while high & mean it? I've had strains that make me cough too much when smoked certain ways but that's an easy work around, never have I gone puff, puff I don't like it with a high cheese going:)

Let it do it's thing. No problem

observation:

I cleaned my glass pipe real good when I harvested the Brix/washed grow.

Normally after I clean my pipe, the screen has a hard time staying in the bowl until a bit of residue builds up and keeps it in there.

Since I am smoking the Brix/washed bud in there a few weeks now the screen has yet to build up enough residue to keep her in place. It falls out each time I turn it over to dump out the ash.

current grow;

BPN run is 5 weeks in. I posted a few pics in the bud candy thread in case anyone wants to take a peek.
Come on folks let's see some eye candy! Here's some for ya starts at pose 817

Question Doc;

they are only 5 weeks in and most trichomes appear to be cloudy enough to pick already and have been for a week now. Is there anything in particular that would make trichomes mature so fast?
