If you hook it up to a thermostat, you will have no problems. Set the temp, and it will come on as needed. For simplicity, I would probably just go with the cool tube. There's no need to make things more complicated than they need to be. Since you already have the cooling unit though, it might be worth it to look into wiring up a thermostat to it. That way you can get the better light, and still keep your environment under control

as far as a smoke report goes, this plant that I've been primarily smoking is amazing. I haven't slept this well in a long time. This past weekend, we smoked a pretty fat blunt of it, and between three people we were all super baked. It takes no effort to fall asleep and you stay knocked out the entire night. I woke up at 11am on Sunday and was like "woah, it's 11?!" haha. My girl refers to it as a sedative. It has a great high and doesn't couch lock you too much, but once you sit down it intensifies by at least 50% and you begin to drift into another world. Even 2-3 hours after smoking a bowl, it has the same effects when you stop moving.

The monster plant on the other hand is a heavy indica and is great for medicating. I haven't smoked too much of it yet, but from what I've smoked it is amazing. A more detailed report of the other two will come once harvested. I don't plan on cutting any more test branches from them since I have half a plant drying already.

The drying closet is looking nice. Two branches that have been drying about a week are almost done. The stems are very close to snapping, but aren't quite there yet. The outside of the bud feels dry, but I'm sure towards its core it is still a bit wet.

I can't wait for a decent cure so I can give a better smoke report. I'll sit down over the course of a few days, smoke a bowl or two, then talk about it.

Alright, so last night I decided to chop the rest of that plant that was half harvested. I finally feel your pain to anyone who complains about how much there is to trim around harvest time.. I chopped all the branches and me and my girl spent a couple of hours trimming. We built a ghetto rack out of wire hangers that stands on its own and rested all the buds on there, it works great. I didn't get a chance to weight it out because there was so much there and there is no way it would fit on the scale so I'll wait until it dries to get a dry weight.

The current batch that is drying is coming along very nicely. I had two branches that I chopped a little over a week ago that are finally dry and I put in a jar yesterday. Smoked a bowl of it and it just keeps getting better! I have about 1/4oz that is dry, and another 2oz that is pretty much dry. The main cola is pretty much dry, and i re-weighed it yesterday and its clocking in at 32g, so I will definitely have an oz bud, which is all I wanted from this grow lol.. The rest is just a bonus.

Checked the trichs on the other 2 plants, the Sativa is actually starting to turn purple on some buds and the trichs on both plants are around 80-90% cloudy still with no traces of amber. I'm going to give them till maybe mid next week and chop them.. The Sativa will be the last to come down, I'm curious as to how this purple will spread.

hell yeah Irishboy, I definitely want to enter one of these monsters in nug of the month. I might wait until it's had a small cure, who knows. I need to get my plants as frosty as yours and then I'll be set!

Bass, whats up man? I'll try and snap some pics over the weekend. It's only in a few spots, but it might be a deficiency just from being leeched of nutes for the past week.

Well the plant is finally all dry and I managed to scrape up enough jars to get it all put away. I didn't get an exact final weight due to my scale being so small and the amount of bud is so large, I just rounded and weighed them in different stages. All together I ended up with a little over 4oz. I have 3.5oz in jars right now, and I know I smoked at least half an oz in the meantime.

I haven't snapped pics yet, I'll get some jar pics of them and a couple of bud shots. I checked the trichs on the other 2 yesterday and they were showing around 10% amber so I chopped them both. I decided to try something different with this one. I hung the entire plant upside down and will let it dry like that for a week, then I'll trim and snip off the branches. Trimming will be a bit more tedious, but I'm more curious as to the quality of the smoke from doing it this way. I'll post back my results when they're dry. I'm expecting quite a bit haul from these 2. At least 4oz each, maybe 5oz on the biggest.

I smoked a lot over the weekend. Rolled up a couple of nice fat joints yesterday and went to town. Ended up painting my living room, stayed up all night and slept like a log. This weed is great, it has enough couch lock to make chilling out awesome and give you the best nights sleep, with enough Sativa to make you paint your house haha.

well I hung part of it, but after cutting the branches and trimming, I was too lazy to find something to hang them with so I made a drying rack out of metal coat hangers and laid them on it to dry. It worked really well as not much of the material came in contact with the bud.

Well, I got around to trimming up the cola monster plant last night. It was a pain in the ass as it had tons and tons of leaves. It took a few hours, but I got it all done. The main cola is around 70% dry and weighs 2.5oz already. This thing is a cola monster for sure lol

I will be trimming up the big Sativa tonight and tomorrow. I'll get a shot of the final harvest volume. I'm thinking about 5oz off the cola monster, and probably the same, maybe a bit more for the Sativa. All together, I would guess around 15oz total from all 4 plants (including the hermie that was chopped early).

on the 1st page it has all the info about this grow, it says 600wMH/HPS. hope this helps?

Strain: Random Bagseed, some seed I got off my first bagseed grow.
Soil: Happy frog for the seedlings, will be transplanted into happy frog / ocean forest mix
Pot: foam cups, then 3 gallon
Size of light? 600 watt MH/HPS - Not aircooled.
Temp of Room/cab? 70's
RH of Room/cab? ~30%
PH of media or res? 6.2
Watering Schedule: Daily
Nutrients: None, will be using grow big and tiger bloom

You make my estimates of aiming for an oz a plant seem extremely conservative! I stuck 5 plants in hoping to keep alive 3 of them and get 3 oz's

Hogs, of course a lot of the new hps bulbs are now dual spectrum, at least over here they are, meaning equally potent in the blue as they are in the red so no need to use different lights anymore.

Yeah wasn`t sure if he added cfls etc...Yeah i may get one of them,one of these days.

and thanks CriMson 600 seem to be more than powerefull enough...I guess 2 wd. do a 4 by 8 table 15 to 20 Gals?
