Hempy Headquarters

As promised last night, I did some cleaning and washing of my used hempy mix that is being recycled into new Hempy Cups for Clones.

To start I had the separated mix in a smaller bucket. Transferred into one of my waste paper baskets with a 1gal nylon paint strainer. Poured some water in and stirred it up. Listening to some Marley - Picked up the nylon strainer and squeezed and drained, then into a mixing bowl. - I stirred the mix thoroughly again to mix the perlite and vermiculite nicely. At this point the mix is ready to be transferred into the Hempy container of choice. In my case at this point 32oz Stadium Cups with a hole drilled at 2inches.

If you like I am going to be showing the up potting of my clones into this mix over on my 2nd grow journal. Visit there if interested. 2nd Grow: BT'z 2nd Grow - Super Lemon Haze & Golden Leaf

Ahhh, thank the Lord for wise asses. Humor I can appreciate.

Just Saying

They look quite healthy, have tight internodes, and are pushing out the third node in under 2 weeks - I’d say
Very Good!
Thanks! Not sure how quickly to expect them to grow in this medium.

I've visited your thread recently mainly because the Super Lemon Haze is one of my favorite strains. I'll try to remember to look for the clone repotting.

With my remaining clones in the Propagation tray, I may try some gentle removing of the cubes and see how the roots do. One at a time. If I start breaking roots off, I'll stop. The method I currently use seems to be working well for me and I see that others are leaving their root riots in place also.

I’d hesitate to do this BT. The Rapid Rooters are loaded with goodness to help the clone take to life on its own. There’s no real reason to remove them. I simply plant like you do.

I agree completely, but thought since I had issues with an off brand of root riots that had to be separated from three earlier clones to avoid disaster, I might consider trying an experiment. Also Beez mentioned the possibility or questioned the deterioration of the peat they are made of.

I think you will find it under My Clone Box & 1st Clone Attempt At Early Sexing . I have had the name changed but haven't quite figured out how to change the link on my signature line.

Nice documentation of the mix BT. :high-five:

One of the chief reasons I switched to hempy was weight. The DDAs are in their final pots and I can get a lot me of them on this shelf with no concern.

I’ll get essentially the same yield without having to haul around heavy pots or store massive amounts of soil. Works for me.

I’ve harvested many a hempy with the rooter fully intact. The roots cement themselves in them. Lol!

Agreed, in deed. These are from the first clones I ever did several months ago and harvested this week. The Root Riots appear to be bullet proof.

OK, I'm having a senior "don't know how to do something on this site" moment. I want to change a link in my signature line. I can't figure out how to edit it myself, and really don't like to bother the good folks here on 420 admin with something I thought I should be able to figure out. I want to change the "My Clone Box & 1st Clone Attempt" to it's new name and link A Micro Growers Clone/Seedling Box & Cloning Efforts. Any help would be hugely appreciated. TIA BTz

I always bug @Teddy Edwards. He is the man and quick as a cat too to getting it done.
