Hempy Headquarters

nice buck. great lights, clean set up, willing to experiment and grow grow grow.

you got a style.

Question for some of you that make your own fem seeds... Is there a brand of colloidal silver i should look for? I see people talking about colloidal vs ionic silver and i dont want to spend my $ on the wrong thing. I got my hands on some cbd compassion lime autos from dutch passion and id like to make a few dozen (hundred lol) seeds to play with.

You can always (easily) make your own if you are unsure. Recipes/tutorials abound, both on the Internet in general and on this forum.

I did a mock up. Trying to get an idea of capacity.

If I wanted to get 40 tubes on this rack, it will fit in my 2' x 4' tent. I plan on tubing up a half dozen clones this weekend and get them flowering.

Buck, I have no doubt you’ll create something wonderful. That’s what hempy does, takes the unlikely and makes it inevitable.

I just harvested my final plant for a time. I’ll be taking a hiatus from growing to finish out my scheduled travels this year and get settled into my new apartment.

Carnival 6.1 was obviously the largest plant I’d grown hempy-style, following advice on upcanning I’d received from @Graytail, who was also the member that got me interested in growing Carnival in the first place.

Those were lovely @Ganjagrowergu. The colors are divine. I think my colas are gonna be a bit bigger when they dry. :laughtwo:

The hempy darling in that big-ass adapted pot gave up 2850 grams wet, which if you do the math comes to a potential 20 ounces.

It’ll all be dry by Tuesday or so. I’ll post the final numbers then. I’m still a little stunned. I was expecting 8 ounces. Lol!

Hempy rules! :blunt:

Thank you.

I'm sure 11/13 from seed has been the biggest limiting factor yield wise. I now have a 24/0 veg closet full of Northern Lights, Devil's Pitchfork F2s, and Harlequin. DIY LEDs have been good to me.

All hempy, all the time.

Light is the engine that drives the grow, and we often have to work within limitations we’re less than content with, so it’s always sweet to see another member/friend stepping it up with improved lighting and watching magic happen. :green_heart:

Carnival 6.1 exploded my expectations for hempy.

So how did I get this to happen? Well... first you need the genetics, and Carnival has always produced well, though I’ve never gotten one even close to this level before. Lol!

She spent her entire life under the best Timber Grow Lights has to offer, and I followed Graytail’s lead for upcanning. She started in a Solo cup hempy, vegged in one gallon with RX Green, and was upcanned at flip into my largest pot at the time, holding 2.5 gallons of perlite, and switched to Mega Crop 2.0.

Then, after almost two weeks in flower she stopped stretching and started to flower and I stuck her in that big, converted 7-gallon pot and let her rip. :laughtwo:

By gosh, upcanning with a plan works in hempy too. :yahoo: I’d planned to do the upcan into 2.5 gallons in veg and let her grow some roots before flip, but I was out of town at the scheduled time. I think this worked so well I’ll follow it again when I return to growing. :cheesygrinsmiley:

She doubled her root mass, but didn’t fill the pot, even with all she had going on. There was a significant amount of loose perlite when we took it out of the black pot.

Fine roots throughout, but also way more open space than we anticipated.

Even so she’s on track to gift me with 20 oz. I can’t say how thankful I am for that cosmic present. :battingeyelashes:

Here is a little hempy update. Currently I am in a transition stage and have clones getting there legs underneath themselves.

The tubes are Sunny D OG (tangerine power x Gogi OG) clones from last run that had a short stalking structure and smelt like pine. They'll go in flower in a couple days. In the solo cups are clones from Grape Pupil by massmedical strains. I plan on giving them a week more in the cups and moving them into the tubes for another week and than onto flower. The paper cups are some Sin City Juice ( LVTK x Mimosa) test I am going to run outdoors. I plan on taking clones and sexing inside at some point this summer.

On another not I did pull down a couple tubes. @Tead this was 12"s of root zone inside a 3" PVC pipe
IMG_20190430_132902.jpg

For the moment I am going to run these tubes a few times through and see what comes out. I have noticed with the little experience I have with them that when setting clones, it doesn't take long for them to take off. I haven't really noticed transplant shock at all. The zone between the res and the beginning root seems to make for a good starter.

Friday tube update

It's mini hempies! Fun! Stunning roots.
I've been using the larger perlite thru the pots. It's easier to work with and provides the same results. Save your smaller perlite for making clones and remove those rockwool cubes from the equation.

I feel you're not getting as much as you could from them. Veg them bigger and get 2 or 3 big branches rather than 1. I think the size will support more growth, especially with a full 12".
Try out some 6" diameter tubes some time. I found the size to be juuuuuuust right.

So... usually one paints things black to block light. Of course, there's a small trade off when we paint things dark colors. Dark colors absorb heat. If your pot is thick enough on it's own to block the light, white would be the optimal color. I say these words because I feel the PVC you're using may be thick enough to avoid the need for further light blocking.
2 cents.

Thanks for the kind words.

Definitely some things to think about. I bet your probably right in the fact I could get more plant out of the same size container.

With how much the first run stretched I have my lights as high as they possibly could go inside the tent. I could top them though...

I think at some point I will make some tubes and leave the paint off. That might in fact not matter for light intrusion, though I do vaguely remember looking down inside and seeing a glow coming from the outside. Something to try out for sure as it would save some cash and time.

Last time I was at the paint store, I noticed that Krylon makes white spray paint, too. If someone feels the need to paint their containers black, tell them to throw a top coat of white on after it cures.

The grow bags I have are white on the outside and black on the inside.

Hello fellow Humans being.
I was just, ever so luckily and politely directed here by member Ganjagrowergu. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH, MA'AM/SIRE!!

I started reading this Thread/Journal/Never-ending, constantly up-dated AND up-to-date.
Good, enuff sliming on my part, may we continue?
I am, atm, on my 2nd grow. I am using 100% perlite in a feed to waste (hand-fed) system. (Working on a selfwatering system, needs some thought and engemineering). I am so amazed by perlite. Yes, I did have a few hick-ups/mistakes, dumb mistakes, but no living creatures were harmed, luckily.... I had been using solocups, and adding this wundermittel (wonder nute???) based on algae.. an extract. I think you see where this is going>went...
Yupp, we had a sea of algae clinging/growing/smothering the roots in the solocups. I could actually see black patches of algae. PANIC!!! Ok, not... Mixed up 2 pitchers with meds/Chems. 1 with a diluted mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide (6ml of 11,5% H2O2 @ 1 pitcher (ca 3l/0,8 gal) tap water, warm. 1 Pail, same volume, with 30ml Canna Cure. Then 1 final pitcher, pure, unpH'd R/O wawa. Dunked them in till the little bubbles stopped, and a large amount of the perlite had set sail. I excommunicated them onto the balcony for a fortnite. On the final day of exile, i repeated the process, also foilar spray with Canna Cure. Brought them in, kept them apart from the others for 1 night further. Then yesterday, Sat., I harvested 4 girls, took the larger pots from the harvest and scrubbed/cleaned/sterilized them, and put 4 of the 5 femme fatals into the larger pots, and rejoined them with their sisters.
K, enuff said bout that. Question: My harvest has little to no smell, no aroma. The plants are de-frikin-licious!! Non nom. Kick is ok, light headed. What i did notice was, that after about 5 weeks 'Curing', in 5 pcs 1 L Mason Jars, the final batch/glass did have a slight stench. Was it due to the curing, or was it just those buds? Patience was not a virtue, as I had torn into my harvest quite abundently, and with much (more or less) rejoice. It burnt 'clean' (Grey ash, even when using tabacco), just no flavour flave..
I wrote to Canna in the Netherlands, after having read through their site, dissatissfied by the info found there.
The reply I recieved was long, but said litteraly zilch. Atleast no info therein pertaining my questions. Bah!
So, you(s) boys and girls, are now a pin hole light at the end of my tunnel. What can I do to increase the taste, smell, general stereotypical traits of my weed? Like said, I am utilizing the Canna Aqua product range, including Micronutes, which remain closed to date. Just the normal Aqua Vega, Aqua Flores, Rhyzo, Zym, PK 13/14, CalMag, Cure (Foilar), Flush and Boost. This algae stuff, and Molasses. Then single Ca, Mg, P and Trace-Mix. NO I do NOT use all products each/every time. Advancd Nutes ph UP and DOWN. Feed is R/O'd water, with 1 ml CalMag each time, per Litre. Flush and Molasses are just for bloom. I do not foilar spray the girls in bloom. Ok, at the moment, I have, in the 18 hr light room, a mix of Autoflowers and lightcyclers. When I spray the lightcyclers, of course the AF's get a bit of overspray. Never directly. If I use the algae juice, I don#t add any Ca, Mg, P Trace-Mix. Plants look good and healthy, trichomes are abundant. I let the 1st bloom go for roughly 10 weeks. Yupp, have/had lupe and all, just unsure about the time to harvest.. growing pains...
I smoke through a glass reacteur, a bong, with t'bacci, so the buds do not have to be show stoppers. Its just for personal use, not a single G shall ever leave these 4 walls, in solid form.... That which escapes the windows in vapour/smoke form, well....alas, shoot me...
Alright, thanks for your time, and perhaps interest??

Here's some more Hempy goodness. Week 4 flower. And my King Tut was brought out for pics.

Be nice if your average per square foot works out with those (and it probably will, lol). In regards to the two you've harvested so far, what's the length of those budcicles? Not overall height or anything, just the business end, so to speak?
