Heirloom's A Little Bit Of Everything - 2016 Journal

Not....NOT! what I meant, lol. I meant I was having mental issues with my current situation and a particularly lame event.

I know that, Brother! Just thought I bring a smile! It's all good! :high-five:

I'll have to stop in my tracks and leave a hearty good morning on page 100. Milestones, I just love 'em. :laughtwo:

Good morning Heirloom.  I can tell you're going to be like a kid on Christmas morn with the new drone. Already planning modifications and it hasn't arrived yet. Lol!

I have thought about a drone as well. My buddy has built his for abut 1000 off of a bare skeleton. He says he likes it because he can choose the motor and add and subtract features as he pleases. I was looking at the same model as you. But he has the DIY bug in my head now!

Hey Shigg, I do love the DIY, and was drawn to it. I just decided warranty would be good, and I'll get their extra plan that covers it even if I cause a crash. Not likely, but a possibility. I did fly heli's, so I'm pretty good at balancing a ball on top of another ball, which is what I equate the 'feeling' to on a heli. The Phantom 4 is ridiculously stable and can hold position to within about a foot, even in a breeze.

Anyways, it's likely I'll build a DIY hex or octo. After having fun with this one.

Well, my biggest, dreamiest mod was attaching a container to the camera and using the camera tilt function to dump excess seed in the fields to my south, lol.

'Morning Sue.

:thanks:

Crop dusting! Dust those plants with Diatomaceous earth whenever needed!

I have what I believe to be a medical transport small jet that flies under 400 ft over me. Can I shoot it for being in my private air space because I'm offended every time it buzzes me?

In NM, AZ, CA and TX I would think drones would be a common place tool that ranchers, BP and Sheriffs would employ to their advantage, not be scared wild west cowboys. You can monitor acreage far easier. But hey, what do I know, far more fun/cool to be a cowboy. I lived on the border for almost 20 years. I remember being able to simply step over a barbed wire fence and be in Mexico. How times have changed.

SG - Never did the boats other than toys in the pool, nothing really cool. I did race buggies when young. Then got into gliders, planes and then helis. Build the gliders and planes from balsa kits. Now I'm having another childhood and dropping good money for a Phantom 4. The Galaxy tablet goes with it.

When we were in Cape May (when the pic was taken) there was guy flying a Phantom 3 with all the goodies. Telemetry, map, home button. I was spotting for him while he was flying FPV. Had him way out over the water shooting videos of the dolphins around the paddle boarders. Very nice machine, and the 4 is even better!!! Enjoy and have fun!!!! :circle-of-love::peace:

Young fellas here hooked up theirs to fishing line which took it miles out to sea, saw a school, dropped it and caught a tuna off the beach...

When I was about 10 years old, my uncle was the president of the Jacksonville shark fishing club. We would set up on the beach with big tuna polls, and drag the line out with a Kayak. Pull it out 1500 or 2000 feet and drop it, then Kayak back in. We had just dropped the line and started back in when we saw some fins. Turned out to be dolphins. On that trip my uncle took 4th place in the 4th of July tournament with a 13'9" hammerhead. Yes, there were 3 sharks bigger caught off the beach that year. :circle-of-love::peace:

Morning Heir... You think that thing can fly me some of your goodies over here..:;): Hope you're having a blessed day my friend...:circle-of-love:

It would depend how far you are from him. It is a matter of whether or not the battery would last long enough. They can be programed to fly autonomously with way points set by GPS. That is how the new delivery drones will be flown. :circle-of-love::peace:

I have wondered if I can actually do that. I wpuld prefer diatomaceous earth over any pesticide. Can I really sprinkle it over the crops?
This is the one I use

So much to learn...so many journals to follow.

I have a non drone question. My fella and I are floating the idea of in ground planting or pots. Since the natural fence won't be grown in by next season there are limited in ground options unless I use the old dog pin. Only problem is the ac unit is in that area.....so if there are problems I need to hide them....considering it is an old unit...sweetie is banking on at least another call.

Background done....question...it I want to do 20 plants total...I have space in the other part of the property for 10 in the ground.

In the dog pin if I use pots...what size...I would like someone better at the math to help me. I need those 10 pots to go on movable trailers...small enough to fit thru a standard fence.
How big for pots growing all season...final transplant pot....
I will be training them all
How many on each trailer.
How big should each trailer be

How much dirt am I really looking at for all 20 plants.

I plan on using OC+ when I prep the holes....do I still need bone meal and blood bymeal?

How long does it actually take for bone and blood meal to start breaking down?

I hope I am not getting on ur nerves. I am very much a planner and feel so calm when I have a plan.

Also complimentary plants that will help with smell. Thinking rosemary and citronella. Are there others that give off a strong smell?

So much to learn...so many journals to follow.

That is a lot of questions, but OMG, are you asking them in the right place or what? :laughtwo: quite an auspicious plan, and one Heriloom is very qualified to answer. I just wanted to encourage the Rosemary plantings. It's hard to come up with a more overpoweringly companion planting than this fragrant herb. Once the girls hit full bloom though, nothing will cover the smell.
