Wow, hi everyone. Kicked my butt just getting around, let alone all the activity.

I have decent motion, but am weaker than I thought. Have temp limbs that I can get used having on. A pincer/hook operated by cable and a nifty shoulder strap mechanism to start getting used to. You've all probably seen it before. Leg is just a socket, basic shaft and foot. I'll use them for a week and my sockets/cups will be molded.

As for the potato comment, I apologize. I didn't mean to ruffle feathers. And you may be happy to know Karma already got me for it. Grizz wasn't specific enough with the term 'hottie'. Hottie is subjective, and as such wide open to interpretation. I have a nice young fellow whom I'm fairly certain had posters of Brian Boitano and Greg Louganis in his room growing up, if you catch my drift. Nothing wrong with that, but not Ellie May either. Nor a hot, tasty potato.

Speaking of potatoes, dinner is about ready and I'm totally bushed. Thank you all. I'll be on whenever I wake.

Sleep well my friend.:circle-of-love::peace:

Glad to read from you before I hit the sack here Heir! You are going to be tired tonight, I'm sure. They don't waste any time getting things ready for use, I took care of an uncle who had a leg amputated and they were fitting him the day he got home with temporary. Had to wait for swelling to go down before a final fit to the permanent prosthetic.

Dennise was kidding on the potato thing. LOL

Have a good night.

Stay strong heir..

Heir,..what a hoot brotha, your take on the hospital...:slide: You have a good rest! Cheers .:thumb:

Oh ya just wanted to say , i remembered my grade 10/11 math teacher had a prostheses right arm....had a two pc. hook/grabber mechanism on the end. I remember thinking it was so cool that he could still function at 100% with it, he was amazing , holding chalk , and writing on the blackboard with it. Shit heir, that was too long ago brotha...over 40 yr. ago now. Cheers....where's my Stella!

Just dropping off a middle of the night hug for you to find at the beginning of your day. This is my first chance to get here, but you know you're always on my mind.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Good day to you all.

Slept soooo long. It was nice.

It's a new day, with new parts and new challenges. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Mind seems clearer, sharper. I'm gonna start training for a marathon, lol. Ok, maybe not, but I will get around the house some. At this point that's as good as a marathon.

Sounds like you got good rest mate.. how's your dreams been with the medication? Did you walk yesterday or put weight on your leg? When or at what stage does that happen..

I hired an Amish team to build my garage years and years ago. The crew leader was a man with a hook and grab on his left arm. I have to tell you, I was astounded at how easily, and with no effort, he managed things. He was a better worker than all the rest of them put together. It was just amazing, if you could not see it..you would never have known!

I did put some weight on it. Tender is the word. I'm weak, so I couldn't handle it for long, and it's uncomfortable. We went over exercises to do to while laying and sitting. Get up as much as possible, but don't over do it and damage/swell the residual limb. Basically I can make it to the kitchen and bathroom with some help. After that I'm taking it off for a bit. Balance is actually easier than I thought it would be, but I've always had good balance. Amazing what the toes do for balance. You never realize or think about it until they're gone.

I'll get the hang of this in no time. Just have to get the flesh to toughen up and cooperate better. I've pecked keys with my pincer typing this. Already prefer one handed typing, as I have gotten pretty used to it.

Historically I don't have dreams I remember very often. But since the accident dreams have become very active and vivid. Some are f@<ked up...like getting chased and I can't move, or move very slowly, or falling forever and seeing the ground coming at me, wake up on impact. I have not have any flashes or remembrance of the accident. There's almost a month missing in my head.

So I have to ask. Was it a clown in a purple and orange truck?

I like the increasing clarity and focus I hear coming in stronger every day. Geez.... Good morning Love.:hug::hug: Just waking up myself. Threw myself out of time sync yesterday. :laughtwo: You'll quickly grow stronger physically.

Jim and SG...close, both of you. I was getting chased around a pyramid by a clown in purple/orange truck while wearing Sun God robes and, yes, there were tiny pickles AND cocktail weenies being hurled at me.

Morning Sue.
