Heirloom's A Little Bit Of Everything - 2016 Journal

I get the same on opiates, it's like mild allergy or something. I was never going to be a smack addict.. There'll be something out there for you.. I'll have a look around, find out what others are using..

SG - I like TW. Had it once back in Cali. I wish you had it too!!

Grizz - I was just gonna head over to your place and say hi. Glad I'm not the only one with weird reactions to opiates. Not sure if it's pharma/process related, or if it's an allergy or what ever to opium it's self. Gonna find out as I have a pure source growing 50 yards away. I never would have made a good smack addict either.

Gotta go. I'm getting computer headache.

Be alert that the THC will throw the opiate rates off. You take enough cannabis that's bound to be having some effect.

:laughtwo: We simply don't look at pharmacology in the same light as our doctors, do we?

No, Dr's and I don't see eye to eye all the time.

I've blended MMJ and hydro and/or oxy for many years managing chronic pain. I'm doing pretty good on maintenance. If I fall behind the pain 'break through' is hard and requires more cannabis. Not sure at that point if the pain is broken or I just don't give a s#!t anymore, but either way it works.

What's going to be hardest I think is what's coming up starting tomorrow. The real therapy as well as fitting for new prostheses and beginning to learn use them...so I CAN do therapy. All aboard the pain train. Leaves at 8am CDT tomorrow.

Not to be insensitive or anything about your horrible situation...I hope you are right hand dominant for the sake of things, but last night I had a stoner moment thinking of you, can you/will you roll a joint again? I was thinking you could get a cigarette roller machine and go that route. Since I do prefer joints over a pipe any day...just something that crossed my mind.

Oh and I hope the prosthetics work out for ya. I know they do amazing things with them now. Soon you will be very capable of a lot of stuff.

That's a good question. I do have a roller. I can't do it by hand right now, but I might be able to manage something in the roller. And yes, I am right handed. Glad I don't have to learn to wipe with the other hand....or a hook. :yikes:

There's the inappropriate humor again. My defense. I wonder when the loss will truly hit me, or if life has jaded me so much that this is just another thing to deal with, no big deal. I went through some depressive moments early on, but I'm not sure I could call it 'grieving'.

Hey Heirloom, tomorrow, ya eh, rehab....not so much fun, but very worth the pain. How's it work for all the prosthesis dollars...does the guy who drove the logging truck have to cough anything up....just curious, since your in US. I know it's none of my beeswax but i was thinking of you today and was wondering who will pay for all your care and stuff....not sure how it works down there. anyhow my thoughts are with you .Cheers .

Thanks duggan,

I'm out of the loop a little because it's way too much detail to wrap my head around and I could screw it up. Mom, Dad and my lawyer are hashing it out. But what I understand, I think, is the truck company's insurance covers it up to their limits, then we have to sue, which is already happening because I pretty sure medical bills have already exceeded, or will soon. And we better make sure everything is covered in the settlement, because once settled on a number, that's it. It could go to trial, though it won't help them so it will likely be a pre-trial settlement. Driver was texting, hit send a second before hitting me. Medical funds go into an escrow account which gets tapped. I will likely end up with some sort of a monthly cash payment for most if not all the rest of my life, called an annuity. Funds also held by a bond or escrow account. I really don't know where all that money will be coming from. If I die before it's exhausted, any remainder goes to my beneficiary. I'll get money for property damage, my truck, which I built (fully restored and custom '68 Ford) with my own TWO hands two years ago. Bummer I lost it. It had 3500 miles, 2000 of which were my drive across country moving here.

Sigh.

Hi there Heirloom. Just swinging by to say hi. Glad to hear about the prosthetics. They have really come along these days. Also in your settlement, make sure to ask for replacement prosthetics every x amount of years. For the rest of your life. People change over time and need new prosthetics eventually. I hope this info helps you, or pass it on to your folks. Have a good night. :passitleft:

Heirloom, thanks so much for sharing all that . You sound very "in tune" with what's happening and i'm glad you have your Mom and Dad there for you. Just a thought on "texting" , as i move around my work every day (large university) the students text or are just looking at their phones so much so, they bump into each other. I don't move any more...i let them bang into me....it's a pet peeve of mine , i suppose. I was gonna get some shirts made up with "I Don't Yield To Texters" on the front.
Wonder what will happen to the truck driver.... lesson learned....at such a very high cost. You are very lucky...how many times ya heard that lately eh! Time for some rest...have a better night ...cheers.:passitleft:

Hi Canna Montana,

You are right, and we have been told that by doctors and prostheses folks. I've lost considerable weight and muscle mass. I expect there to be several in the first year as things adjust and I find a new normal, then like you say, account for new cups every couple years, repairs etc.

It's amazing what is out there. I won't be getting anything crazy though. I might make some of my own someday though. Custom built for specific purposes. I'm unconventional like that.

I'm on work break, I want to join in but can't, then you all be asleep.. I'm moving to America so I can talk and not have to wait hours for replies,lol...
Whoops, wrong thread, thought I was sitting on the virtual couch..

Better be a brisket, we don't get brisket in Australia.. For some reason and to my disgust (some would say it makes me un-Australian) but we pickle it, corn beef or silverside it's called here... Yuk... I'll let you know when to start the smoker..

Hey heirloom... Hell yes on the hog man.. I think I had a pork spit once a week over summer.. How's things mate, your day been? :passitleft:

You are not the first to point out to me how the smart devices are making people stupid zombies. Another member PM'd me their personal story of family who are totally sucked into it.

Students running into me would make for a very peeved Heirloom. You can bet if it were me they'd be more careful after I bark at them. But that's me, you probably shouldn't give students tongue lashings. I've never cared enough about any one job where I wouldn't speak my mind.
