Heavenly Hybrid 2nd Grow: Blackberry Kush, Coco Grow, LED450

If only there was a place to learn the perfect way to LST a plant.
With the perpetual have not been doing as much lst but know they produce a bit more for sure per plant. My problem is how many plants? If i lst 3 plants in the 4x4 or 4 non lst'd plants? Seems to come in close to the same regardless.
If they are immature seeds, should I try to pull them off as I’m harvesting? Or will they just smoke along with the buds without issue?
You are fine. Had a similar freak out with one of my brooklyn diesels that i thought nannered but it was so late didn;t matter? The rest of the girls were a week or two out so no ill effect. Aka no baby white seeds.

Nanners be like
Is it still the recommendation to go 24 hours in the dark before harvest? Or just after lights on?
I agree with Dutch below.
on the topic of the dark period ..... I have chosen to never do it again!
I tried it and didn't see a difference, SweetSue gave it up, and Dutch as well. But chopping at lights on seems to be the way to go!
Plant count can be a thing. So i understand why some would choose lst all the way.
I usually only LST my autos to prevent any stress on them and possibly slow growth against the clock. On photos I top and supercrop to increase budsites.

Interesting! I was under the impression that any lst or training was supposed to yield more than no training?

Cool, thanks Shed. That will be the plan from now on then. Who wants to wait anyway?! Not me :cheesygrinsmiley:

I pulled one of those things out, and as you all said, it does not look like a banana.

The more I looked at each cola, there are several of these on each one. I’m shifting my worry, is it possible she was pollinated? I looked closely at a few of my other plants last night, and I didn’t see anything. I’ll look closely at the other two later today. There’s just so many of these little seed pod things on Sneaky B. :hmmmm::nervous-guy:

I think all of my plants have had what looked like seed pods on them, but when I remove one and squish it, it’s just plant material in there.
Lol, I’ll go squish it right away! I never noticed these before, so my natural reaction is panic :laughtwo: Thanks Mr. Magoo!

Edit: successfully squished and just as you said, only plant matter inside. :)

I think they are the start of foxtails.... my last few plants all had bumps that looked similar, but just poked out into little dreadlocks.

MHO...

Hmm, could be! I’m getting more and more excited to cut her down and rid myself of these mystery autos once and for all. Aaaand up pot my C99’s & Alaska Purp!!

If I remember right, I feel like I remember @Amy Gardner and @InTheShed talking about multiple times transplanting being good for photo plants? If so, what are the sizes of pots you go through? I have 1,2,3 and 5 gallon fabric pots. I’m looking for advice (from everyone of course) on what sizes to progress through.

My current group will go from cups, to 3 gallon, to 10 gallon.

Mine go from solo cups to 1g to 5g and then to 10g.

 You guys and your giant grow spaces. :laughtwo::laughtwo:

The biggest I can go is probably 5, especially with how many I’m going to try to cram in there. I got my CBD seeds today and I want to plant at least one, like today. The second banana kush I planted hasn’t sprouted yet, and maybe it’d be better if it doesn’t?... :hmmmm: I’ll figure it out, but there’s gonna be a seed drop tonight!

Everything seems well in order here HH! Heading towards a heavenly harvest too:slide:

SO glad you got relief from the CBD. The 2:1 CBD oil I have is an excellent base treatment for anxiety. I take about 1ml of it 2-4 times a day. I have some friends that are really helped by it as well. Contributes to the pain management routine as well :D

I’ve heard 24 hours, I’ve heard just after first light, does it even matter?

Yep - what everyone said. Ive seen many folks do the experiment now and no-one has said they noticed any difference. Except maybe Emilya I remember reading just recently, but I didn’t ask her yet what she noticed that made her keep doing it.

under the impression that any lst or training was supposed to yield more than no training?

It kinda depends - so the word ‘supposed’ is key there. Experience and skill with the training play a part as do genetics. With photoperiods its probably super likely that training will give better yield but with Autos so many things can play into it - like Shed has noticed, some take to it better than others and some don’t veg long enough to do much. I haven’t quite got it figured with the autos yet, but i’ll Always have one going and eventually I’ll crack one!

Nice! :thumb:

Heavenly - I’m in soil and I go from a 1gal into whatever the final pot is (7-8gal inside 13-20 gal outside). When you transplant, follow Shed’s ‘inverse sandcastle’ method and use some form of Mycorrhizae powder Sprinked in the hole and on the rootball and be ready with everything before you pull teh rootball out - least time exposed to air the better. It will help the roots adjust to the new environment with less stress. That’s true for soil - i kind of assume the same would go for Coco and i hope if that’s wrong then a Coco grower will set me straight!

:Namaste:

Great advice! Thank you, a couple I knew and a couple I didn’t, so thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve got the Mykos, so I’ll be sure to follow all that advice. It may end up getting pushed back until tomorrow, we’ll see how much energy I have tonight after harvest!! :cheesygrinsmiley: I’m excited to get some more meds dried and cured. We’ve been having to buy everything from the shop lately and it sucks!! $$$$(USD)

Well, the day has just started and I’m already pooped! Last night was choppy, chop time, and we say farewell to Sneaky B, farewell to mystery seeds, and farewell to my first decent-ish auto. :kisstwo:

I’m kinda tired so I’ll just go to the pics. ;) Here she is before we got started.

First I removed all her fan leaves.

After her wash, and during drip dry, I made a copycat of @InTheShed’s dry box.

I’d say she drip dried for about 4 hours. And after my parenting duties were done for the night, I ate a muffin :cheesygrinsmiley: as the buzz came on, I got to trimming. (ps- it was kinda fun and edible buzzed is the only way I’m gonna trim from now on!)

I always manage to underestimate how long it will take to trim. Thinking since the fans were already off, it would be fast. It wasn’t. :laughtwo: It really only took a couple of hours, so not too bad.

I intended to keep her all on one stem, but I had some concerns about the bunching of the lower level buds and them being too close together, so I did cut those apart a little. It was harder to trim all on one big stem anyway, so it made it a bit easier. :)

And here she is, hanging in the box

Overnight, the rh was too high (low 80’s) so I moved the box inside and propped the ‘doors’ of the box open a little. Temps and rh are much better now.

These gym floor squares have been so useful for blocking light, (don’t worry, I turned the light off too).
I’m hoping I can get these buds to take longer than 3 days to dry, so cross your fingers for me! :Namaste:

Today’s agenda includes moving my seedlings to fabric pots. I’ve got my coco chopped up and soaking, so there may be another update later tonight on that.

Until then, Happy Gardening! :ciao:
