Hello grow buddies, I hope you all had a great weekend. It’s been getting sunny here, so we (mostly mr h) have been doing some outdoor garden stuff. Busy, busy, busy. I’ve been a bit busy too, with the indoor garden of course!
First up, I did some more quad training for a few of them and I got some pics of what I was doing with the critical purple kush.
First I removed the underside nodes from each arm of the plant. *Special note* after the arms reach the length I want and begin their upward growth, I don’t remove these nodes anymore. I leave the side by side nodes alone and the final result is plenty of colas at the top of the canopy without being overcrowded.
Next, she was growing out, so I opened the arms out a bit more. Here is CPK before I adjusted her ties.
Here is where I moved the ties outward to the next node spacing.
I move all the ties for each of the 4 arms first.
Then with two arms at a time, gently and simultaneously push down the lawn staples to bring down the arms into a Y shape. Not completely flattened, you want to see the arms at a slight upward angle still. Doing opposing sides at the same time helps to keep the main stalk nice and straight and helps prevent one side from snapping with adjustments and readjustments.
Here she is after. I know she looks flat in the pic, but I assure you she has a gently sloping Y.
Here they are immediately after training
The next day they looked like this
Mango is still on the small side for any training, but she’s nearly ready now.
Another post coming...
