HashGirl's First Indoor Grow: Dark Devil Autos In Hempy, 2020

Did the bucket feel light before fertigation? Did you have good flow from the hole?

Yes the buckets felt lighter before fertigation. DDA2's hole needed to be cleared a couple of times but I think it's okay now.

Sometimes my leaves will curl under if they’re not happy with the temperature being too warm.

How warm is too warm? How do you decrease it? With the fan?

It kinda depends on the strain. Some are more tolerant. But if you’re getting above 80F (27C), you should probably turn your fan up.

Inside a tent seems to be lower. My kids are routinely subjected to temps in the 90s and up, but they’re outdoors.

Oh, and by all means, increase your fertigation frequency to every 2 days if you want. As long as your hole isn’t clogged (and perching water too high in the bucket), you really can’t overwater a hempy. In fact, I love providing fresh air and nutrients more often.

It was gardening day here today. First up, the DDAs. I think their leaves are looking better than last time before I fertigated. Let me know what you think:

And, here is the rest of today's plantings. How many can you identify? :battingeyelashes:

I just use black earth soil for my tomatoes and herbs, Shed. The planters they're in are known as "self-watering" meaning it has a reservoir in the bottom kind of like a hempy.

Do the DDAs look good to you, Felipe? They were in the post above the one with the herbs and tomatoes you identified. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yeah, I'm sure. I always poke a pointy stick in the hole and move it around to make sure all the water that's going to come out does.

I could water every 2 days instead of every 3 as bluter suggested. Also, don't forget these are autos and they're already almost halfway through their growth (shy 1 week). I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I thought I should remind you. :battingeyelashes:

I was thinking about asking Teddy to change my initial post where I said @SweetSue was mentoring me to @FelipeBlu mentoring me instead. What do you think? :laughtwo:

I could never step into Sue’s shoes! lol

Okay, thanks for reassuring me about the drainage. What are you feeding them again? Maybe too much nitrogen already? I know many DDa phenos are quite picky.

Heya HashGirl,

A good friend of mine @Virgin Ground has grown DDas also, and has some hempy experience. She reminded me that you up-potted your sprout very early, and it probably needs a little help getting its roots to the reservoir. She’s absolutely right! So, give your plants a little every day - twice a day if you’re around - not up against the stem, but not far from it either. Try that for a week. But I bet you will see them take off before then!

I'm feeding them 1/4 tsp FloraGro, 1/4 tsp FloraMicro and 1/8 tsp FloraBloom in 1 gallon of water as per the General Hydroponics feedchart. However, that said, I misread how much FloraBloom to use the first 3 feedings but corrected it this morning so maybe, that was it?

Oh, and I know about Autos in general. Sometimes, ya just get a dud

:(

Autos yes, but I have found that DDA's are the worst in terms of looking unhappy (the best?). They are a very fickle strain and you can never know what type of plant you will end up with!

This is exactly why I wanted @SweetSue to mentor me because I know Dark Devil is her first love, strain-wise. :battingeyelashes:

Curled leaves is common with DDA. I’ve got two growing with curled leaves and they are doing well.

:thanks: PGA! That makes me feel much better. :hugs:

Cool! Thanks, Felipe. So, just water every day or fertigate every day or a combination of the 2, water only 1 day, fertigate the next???
