HashGirl's 2021/2022 Grow: Blue Dream, Clementine, Gelato & Pineapple Express In ProMix

Thanks, Felipe. I do love my spreadsheets. :battingeyelashes:

They were stressed in the first month from thrips and sprayings to get rid of them and it is cold here so maybe that's why...

Hi Jon. They're Clementines not Chem. I was thinking about trying some monstercropping à la @Trala 's method, which in case you didn't know, involves zero actual cropping.

Everything in red is Greek to me. :laughtwo: I will adjust my formula to the last part.

:thanks:
If you need any help, I’m okay with Little Monsters. I’d be so happy to assist :)

... :ciao: from down Mexico way...definitely a different vibe this season... ...temp taking and masks are the new normal at a lot of places( with good reason)...feels so good to be back...Congrats on the harvest!... :thumb: :thumb: ...cheerz... :high-five: ...h00k... :hookah:

I am so envious of you. My sister went to Mexico after Christmas and said it was totally worth it.

Have a wonderful stay and I hope you steer clear of Covid while there. :hugs:

*** Garden Update ***

Good afternoon.

This week's highlights include:

  • I uppotted the 2 Blueberry autos to 3-gallon pots as I forgot that I was supposed to start them in their final pots.
  • I topped the Blue Dream (BD) and the Pineapple Expresses (PE).
The PEs and BD's leaves look awful but I checked for bugs again and didn't see any. The damaged leaves may be from the previous bugs. The PEs look better than the BD, in my opinion. However, I was wondering if leaf damage could be caused by low humidity as it's currently 30% in that tent? Cold temps might be why they're growing so slowly... :hmmmm:

Here are the photos:

Your Clems and the Gelatos look great! They look like you have everything in order. Don't know what to say about anything else. It does seem as if your upper leaves on the PEs are better than the lower ones, so maybe you're right and you got the bugs and she's on the mend? The oddest thing to me is the two BBs on day 25 and still being runtish like that. Not sure what to make of that, although generally speaking, in my opinion, if you are at 60 degrees at this stage of growth, yes, that's significantly too cold. I don't know enough to say whether or not that's the reason, but if it were me I'd be trying to warm it up.

Thanks, Jon. The temps have been in the low 70s, high 60s in the tent at night.

Oh, you meant the high 60s? Hmm, that should be fine even if I'd go higher. My comment applied thinking you were talking 60. That's crazy cold. But high 60s shouldn't hurt any stage of growth ever. So likely that is not it. Sorry.

I don't think the low humidity is the problem- in my box, the rh is @ 30% about 75% of the time... it goes up a little (35-38%) at lights out, and directly after watering, but otherwise, it stays pretty low this time of year.
No leaf damage that I've noticed, at least not yet...

Me neither - it’s hard to tell if there is bug damage because of the water droplets - but the leaves are twisted and distorted. You indicate N/A for fertilizer on these two - so you are not feeding them?

I see evidence of thrips on older leaves of other plants - it’s possible that they could be affecting growth of the BBs also.

I haven't yet but I could definitely start. What should I start them at? 1g/gal?

Should I spray all the plants just to be on the safe(r) side? Even though I see no bugs?

OMG! They're 4 weeks old. How did I not notice this? o_O My autoflower schedule says I should be feeding them 5g/gal. Should I start there??? :nervous-guy:

Having a solid IPM plan/routine is always advised, even after you've gotten rid of the bugs, since you never really get rid of them. Some can lay eggs that are dormant in the soil for weeks and then start another round, some come in on your clothes (or those of visitors including pets) etc.

So a routine of weekly IPM is just good practice. It's easier to keep them away than it is to get rid of them once you notice an outbreak.

Having said that, I too get lazy sometimes and skip a week or two. Usually just enough to remind me why the advice of a regular schedule is given in the first place.

They’re still pretty small - even though 4 weeks - and I bet that the higher dose assumes a bigger plant. I would start with 2-3g/gal and go from there.

The flowering Gelatos are looking great, and I'd bump the Clems to 4.5g/gallon!

Thank you. Will do.

In terms of those 25-day old BBa's, I'd toss them if they were mine. That's valuable tent real estate you could use to grow plants that will produce a good harvest of meds for you. Whatever you drop today will be bigger than those in a week!

I'm growing the Blueberry autos again for two reasons:
  1. I didn't get much from the Blueberry Auto I grew last summer and found that it worked extremely well for anxiety and therefore, wanted more.
  2. I had my Winter 2022 grow all planned already and I didn't have space to grow Blueberry photos. I figured by growing autos, I could put them anywhere they fit since they don't need a specific light schedule to grow.
However, all that said, I will be planting 2 new Blueberry autos on January 30.

That's good to know- I haven't smoked any of mine yet, gonna have to give it a try tonight...
Sorry yours aren't doing better- iirc my BBa was a slow starter too- I thought it was a dud for awhile there..

The way that I process seeds is like this:

  • Seed goes into a glass of water for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Seed goes into a damp paper towel in a baggie, stored on top of the PVR.
  • When seed shows a decent tap root, I plant.
  • The cup the seed goes into is half filled with re-used ProMix and then I lightly water it, add more ProMix and then using a pen, poke a shallow hole in the surface and plant the seed. I have tried planting the seed with the taproot pointed down and pointed up and placed sideways as per VirginGround's advice.
  • I cover the seed with a thin layer of dirt and spray water lightly on the surface every morning (and evening if they look dry).
And, that's it.
Ever try sanding the edges of the seed to help them along before soak? And sorry about all the fallen beanz... But now for the journal, I am all caught up here....may take a look at the rest later when I have some hours to kill lol. But wow you have your hands full kinda like a cannabis day care with all those kids  but I'm loving how the gelatos are looking, some pretty ladies you got. And awesome job on the recovery and pest control. But I'll be in and out to give happy comments and a possiblity of a chuckle :p.

:welcome: to my journal, Happy!

Yes, I have tried "zesting" seeds but I only usually do it on the older seeds.

I'll be posting an update this afternoon, I hope.
