HashGirl Implements A Perpetual Grow

Your garden is looking so good HG. PM also makes me nervous. I had forgotten that if it doesn't rub off it is dead. I'm glad the citric acid is effective at .25 %.

Looking good HG!
That pm would make me nervous.

Honestly, it makes me nervous, too and I'm probably spraying more often than needed. I'll also wash them in citric acid and water when I harvest them.

*** FLOW2 UPDATE ***

Good afternoon.

The Flower 2 girls look like they're dying to me. I was trying to pull off the dead leaves on Roxy yesterday but her buds were so dry, they came off too. I don't know why they're so dry. I feed her every 4 to 5 days. :hmmmm:

This week's measurements show lots of shrinkage except surprisingly, Candy, who grew 3 inches wider.

I also have some trichome pics to check out. Without further ado, here are this week's pics.

*** HARVEST UPDATE ***

Good afternoon.

This update is long overdue since these plants were all harvested in March.

First up is Pam (Purple Satellite). Pam was my first regular seed plant, my first Ace Seeds plant and my first full sativa. And ,while the yield wasn't great and the stress of trying to determine sex took its toll on me, I'm grateful that a friend sent me his seeds to try. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of her pre-chop.

Purple Satellite - Sativa Photoperiod
Days in Veg = 66
Days in Flower = 70
Harvest Date = March 12, 2023
Final Yield = 28 grams

Next up are the Jack Herers, Jane and Jen. I'm giving them their own post because I have an added surprise for them.

Jack Herer (Jane) - Sativa-Dominant Photoperiod
Days in Veg = 91
Days in Flower = 77
Harvest Date = March 9, 2023
Final Yield = 95 grams

So, do you remember last fall when I was sick and trying to get seeds to germinate and thought I might have accidentally planted a CB Dutch Treat when it was supposed to be a Jack Herer?

Well, I wanted to be sure. So, I sent samples of both Jane and Jen to Confident Cannabis in British Columbia to have both plants tested for cannabinoids and if the samples both came back with approximately the same cannabinoids in both of them, then I wanted them to just test one of the 2 samples for terpenes. And, I had some surprises.

The good news was that the cannabinoids were almost identical in both samples so yay, I only grew Jack Herer! But the percentage of the THC is what surprised me the most:

And, here is their terpene analysis:

Jack Herers - Terpene Analysis.jpg

For those who don't want to figure it out themselves, the Jack Herers are dominant in these terpenes:
  • beta-Myrcene - .35%
  • beta-Caryophyllene - .31%
  • alpha-Bisabolol - .25%
I was surprised to see ND for Terpinolene since that's one of the major terpenes Leafly says Jack Herer has. Just goes to prove that you really don't know what you're getting unless you test it.

I remember that. Good thing they both turned out to be JH.
It's interesting to see that breakdown of info on the plants. So there are notes of hops, rose, magnolia, cinnamon and chamomile? Sounds yummy like chai.

Congrats on the final weights, though if they're really at 34% RH they'd weigh more at 62%!

They were 34% when they went into the jars. I brought the humidity up to 62% using damp paper towel in tinfoil and once they were there, I added Boveda packs to the jars.

And after seeing what the lab test says on the THC, does that help explain why you need so many capsules to feel anything? :hmmmm:

That test answers your getting high question I think too.

Maybe. Felonious says high percentage THC doesn't necessarily get you higher since most strains are way higher in THC than back in the 70s.

And, I've seen this play out with the Runtz Punch and Gelatos I grew. They were reputed to have more than 20% THC each and I didn't get high from either of them. Mind you, I didn't have them tested so I have no idea if they were as high as advertised. I gave it all away and one of the people who benefitted was @Melville Hobbes so maybe he wants to weigh in?

Both the Runtz Punch and the Gelato are quite potent. One of the Runtz Punch caplets gets me higher than the edibles I make, and when I vaped them I went carefully until I got a feel for how strong they were.
Not quite as strong as the first Ghost Train Haze I had that tested at 24%, but stronger than the Apple Fritter that tested at 22%.
I know that doesn't sound very high to folks in the US, but some of the 33% weed that's sold down there was tested up here and it came back at 22%.

That's why I sort of agree with Felonious. If high THC was all that was needed to get high, I should have no problem getting high. The Bruce Banner #3 and Café Racer were advertised as 27% and 25% respectively and they look like their terpenes work for me so we'll see how they work out.
