Growing Without Bloom Nutes By Farside05

If you're looking to attribute their good health to something, the common denominator is the grower.
;)
Thanks. Here I thought it was chicken themed tent mascots.

Beautiful flowers and the Jack's tent look really happy. I can see why back right needs a drink more often than the rest!

The front right Gelato in the flowering tent is disappointing. Foxtails and fluffy buds. Nothing like her front left sister that expresses it's Cookie heritage with round top colas and solid nugs.

The front right auto (Big Cheese) may just be a runt. Her growth is far slower and it appears she wants to try to pre-flower already. Might just leave her a mini Christmas tree.

I went out if town Monday-Friday. Gave everyone a 3 gallon drink to really saturate the Faux-Mix just before I left. The autos needed fed today. They all got 2 gallons of 4g Jack's, .5g Epsom Salts, 5ml Faux-Tekt (which I made a new batch of today). The buds are hardening up on the photos. Getting closer to the finish line with them. The autos are starting to flower. The ugly duckling in the front right has stretched like crazy.

Looking a bit sativa-y in the auto tent, no?

The front right Big Cheese certainly appears that way. It's supposed to be 40% Sativa, 40% Indica, and 20% Ruderalis, but certainly looks different than her front left and rear left sisters.

Some Gelato frostiness. Hoping they finish soon.

I'm liking that back right Gelato. Nice aroma, fat hard buds, and lots of trichs. Biggest issue is that neither has any stem strength. It was on straight MC until well into bloom. If I grow it again I'll see if Silica helps beef up the stems. Still contemplating what I'll grow in July. Think I'm gonna stick with seeds from the breeder Nirvana, at least for photos. Chemdog may be on the docket.

Been a while since I've had anything I've been real happy with in the auto tent. So far I'm happy with this progress. I need to take some individual shots of them. They all are nice in their own way. Hoping to chop something in the photo tent in the next two days.

Harvested the photos yesterday and cleaned the "Weed Office". Today I did maintenance on the autos and split them out to two tents so I could spread them out more. The autos, which were running Jack's looked like they could use some Cal-Mag so I added it to their feed regiment.

Your plants look good. I can’t tell from the photos, what is it about them that made you think you needed CalMag?

How are you liking the Jack’s? I listened again to the Cannabis Cultivation & Science podcast that had as guest Dr. Cari Peters who is head of the nutrient development program (something like that). I think she’s also a third Generation member of the Peter’s family. I learned a lot more listening to it the second time. Lots of good info on how they acquire the ingredients. Why they have the formula they do, etc. Since your a Jack’s using, Inthink you might find it interesting.

There are some tell tale rust spots on the upper growth of a couple of the ladies. I'd need to take a closer pic of it so it would stand out.

So far so good with Jack's but the fact that you have to do Jack's, Epsom Salts, add Silica, and now Cal-Mag, it's 4 additions to make a gallon of feed. It's not as simple as Mega Crop with just adding Silica, but still better and cheaper than 7 bottle regiments. The results look good though.

I've made it half way through that podcast but haven't gotten back to it. Since the interviewer is an organic grower, he wants to redirect everything back to that. I could think of a half dozen different things I'd like to see her address instead.

Yeah I noticed that too. She does do a good job of holder her own. I liked how she kinda straightened him out on the whole salt thing by explaining the difference between good and bad salts. I also thought she gave a good explanation why with Jack’s you give it shot of P for just 1-2 weeks when you transition from veg to flower. She definitely sounds like she knows here stuff and is using her education to really target the needs of the plants during the grow cycle.

Here is the close up of the spots I attribute to needing more Calcium. Not horrible, not everywhere, but enough that I'll try adding a supplement.

Congrats on the alleged pic-free harvest farside!
It was a rough couple days at the Farside house. I went to OH to see dad a few weeks back and was way behind on chores. Worked like a dog and still didn't catch up. Here are a few "proof of harvest" photos to appease the Canna Gods
