Growing Cannabis 101: Mint Chocolate OG, HSO, Organic Super-Soil, 25% Perlite, Gaja Green Organics, 3 Mars 300s &1 Mars 144, Equal Par Wall To Wall

March 25/19
I decided to put a medium cover in so my soil doesn’t dry out as fast, the microbial life will become dormant if it dries out. If it does I will have to run a bubble tea to reintroduce a mass amount of microbial life to the medium. I am using Organics so I feed the soil the soil feeds my plants

This is the day I topped it , now I’ve only done one grow prior and it was with hid , LED is a whole different ball game, I set the light to the recommended height at 24/30”. I am at 34 “ right now and this is where I ran into problems.

She looks really bad from light burn the led was too strong , I added another foot of spacers to solve the issue

I just want to say thanks to all the people who helped me get this going , I’m really enjoying it. Has anyone else every had this issue with being new to leds ??
Add a table spoon or two of molasses one a week or two ?

15 hours later then my last photo and she has filled in nicely , I have started to spray the plant morning and night to help with RH.

@Kingjoe83 yeah I do the odd molasses watering but I try to stay away it makes the soil sweet and pests tend become a problem. I just gotta keep the medium moist at all times, I’m looking into making a drip system but that’s another story. Did you ever use molasses or compost teas ? ALSO. I found out at least one of these pheno’s do stretch quite a bit for an indica dominant , must have favours the sativa genetics in that sense. But I’m excited to see what happens

Yup I used act last year

I just used DE to prevent pest and added rocks around medium base I had the odd any but nothing to worry about .

New growth starting already, this plant bounces back so well to defoliation and topping , I am very impressed. I like to think it’s from the 25% power bloom 2-8-4
More phosphorus helps stimulate the root growth which in turn helps with faster heal time , healthy roots= healthy fruits

I thought I was in the clear with the led burn , but seems that all new growth is over whelmed. My light was 3 ft from the canopy. I have it now set to 4 ft and I’m nothing having this issue anymore. But coming from my first indoor grow being HID this is a real learning curve .

She reallly bounced back fast this time I couldn’t believe it when I got home from work.

April 16/19
I did another round of defoliation to expose more bud sites in trying to get them to all grow at the same rate , so when one gets tall I bend it down and it redirects the hormones thoe the next tallest one , so I keep tying down until the rest catches up. It seems to really works for maintaining an even canopy. But I disfigured a lot of plants before I got this down to somewhat feeling comfortable doing it. My first grow I was so scared to touch the plants and then I dived into main lining 4 plants that vegged for 100 days , so I learned a lot in that time .

Just one more day later she was filled in again, this is my first time running gaja green and I am so impressed with how well it feeds the plants , I don’t have time to mix nutes and Ppms and ec , I spent hours reach day feeding and prepping water it took time away from my family , so I wanted an easier solution. The change has really paid off.
EC53CE1A-D8F1-44F5-8FA8-2709DA8B4E72.jpeg

And another defoliation , I try not to take too much at once, some people say it’s so bad to do , but as you can see the plant responds really well to it , and it almost puts the plant in a super repair mode and the growth seems to explode, I haven’t came across a strain that didn’t like it. , and I’m trying to keep my node spacing tight , so when flower comes it’s not 3” between bud sites, this way when she flowers they will be big tall solid colas, depending on genetics and pheno of course

She is finally filling up the space in the bucket (this is my first bucket grow) if I was to anything different it would be not having so many colas ( I do feel like I’m going to run out of horizontal space but I do have a 2x4 grow tent with a mars 144 reflector as a plan b ( thanks to the person who gave the that idea you know who you are )

I just really want to thank everyone who’s been checking out my grow it means the world to me , and to get all your positive feedback is amazing, I am so glad I joined this 420 family. I know there’s a lot I can learn off you guys and gals

That's just a little rooting hormone-It may or may not help with transplant shock,so I sprinkle a little in the holes...
They didn't even notice the transplant,so,if it didn't help, it didn't hurt anything either...

Great white ?
No,it's just some stuff called "FastRoot" by miracle grow- bought it a few years ago at home depot
when I was trying to get some clones started.

Yeah I just buy this mycros from My local garden seems to do good stuff for about 12$ I think

It might say on the container-mine says "helps prevent transplant shock",so I use it for that..
It's 0.1% indole-3 butyric acid if you want to compare ingredients....
