Grow To Heal Me - Perpetual Journal - Lady Growing Ladies - Never Giving Up

That was great GreenFingers, wow. I'm sure I went to the right man for that question. I am very impressed with your explanation, I definitely learned something as well. Would you mind if I copied or linked this post to my tutorials, I think it will be of great help to those reading it. :Namaste: Brother, thank you.

KiG :green_heart:cheers
Thanks Snid :thumb:

That's no problem at all, you can link or copy it to your tutorials if you would like, I would be honoured, the more people that we can teach and spread information to, the better :)

I would really appreciate if you could quote or reference me or my grow with the post for anyone who is interested in checking it out, they might benefit from the information there, it can get a bit quiet even though I try to be as informative as possible, maybe that's the problem ha ha

Happy that I could help out :Namaste:

I'm a little late to the journal, but what an inspiring attitude!

I'm more of an animal person than a human person too. Animals are just so relaxing. I hope you're able to get those unexpected visits in more often.

 Hoping for a better day for you today!

Thank you Greenfingers & Snid, I can't express how much easier it is to read when it's all in one space and so neatly written, with simple instructions. This information is critical and I am going to read this over and over again like a recipe for kindness. :thanks: Gonna check out the link now. HUGS NOT BUGS...lol

Thank youuuuuu, you're most welcome here my friend! Animals are crucial to healing because I get triggered around people. But I hope to socialize myself again one day. This is a great way to remain connected to the world. Have a wonderful day!
:cheer:

Look at that... My two favourite 420 gals in the same thread, glad to see you catching up smokiebear. Animals are great relaxers for us humans for sure, nonverbal... a spirit shared between them and you that is more powerful than words.

Looks like while I was away you received some fantastic resources from some very experienced and educated gardeners. I don't know if I could have put it as eloquently as Snid and GF. There would have been a bunch of distracting unimportant scientific based perspective. I would have added that there are degrees of supercropping. When you really get the hang of it you can use the method with the intent of redirecting a limb. Can't thank you enough for you support my mate! I passed on your well wishes to the Mrs which she received warmly! Cheers again mate :)

But I love unimportant scientific based stuff and degrees of supercropping. I may not understand it but I welcome it to learn from you. I just wanted to give you some time to heal so I didn't BUG you with questions. But feel free to share your knowledge when you're feeling better.

Well I'll keep at as brief and generalized as possible as to try to build an image in your mind of what's going on when you supercrop. The concept if to break the inner herd without breaking the outer herd of the plant. The "inner herd" is made up of pure cellulose; the parts of the plant referred to as the phloem and xylem. The plant transfers water and nutrients from cell to cell through this cellulose network. When you break the "inner herd" the plant rebuilds these cells in itself but better than before. It increases the flow and capacity of water and nutrient uptake. I am pretty aggressive with this technique. I apply this method no further than every 4-5 inches on the stem.

Well said Growlow :thumb:

The only thing I would add is that where the stem has been damaged and repaired a large hard knuckle will form giving the cola an awful lot more weight bearing capacity as the stems become more rigid and thick, I like to just do it for the sake of it all over the plant without bending in Veg to make the stems tougher, especially with Sativas :)

GreenFingers

I am taking notes as we speak. Very cool info about the infrastructure of the stem and how nutrients are carried. What amazes me is the regenerating properties of a plant that almost makes it a "super" plant. Now keeping this in mind, could we not replace clear cut forests with hemp trees and fill up our forests alarming fast? Or am I way off? :thanks: My brain loves knowledge about plant processes, it just takes a while to apply certain methods and theories.

Its actually an interesting topic in relation to sustainability

Today we make a shameful 93% of our paper from trees.

An acre or hemp can produce about the same amount of fibre as an acre of trees.

It could take tens of years for the acre of trees to be mature enough to yield the fibre while the same amount can be harvested from hemp every single year. This is part of the reason that cannabis was made illegal.

This is a video that you may find interesting, it discusses the relationship between the logging industry and cannabis :)

So one of my businesses is hemp orientated. I have a hemp farm that produces organic fibre, feed, cloth and framework. When turned into concrete it is up to 6x stronger than standard concrete. It becomes a hybrid of carbonfibre meets concrete. With no rebar needed. I believe it is going to be a big boom in the building industry. GF hit some great points. In general hemp recycles up to 3-4 times more CO2 than other plants. Like GF said hemp grows to maturity in the blink of an eye compared to most trees.

I won't get started on the reasons and manipulations made to ensure hemp and cannabis remained frowned upon resources. Maybe another time ;)

Hello green friends and fellow growers. It's my favourite part of the week...updates!:cheer:

Plant & Personal Growth Information - Friday June 3, 2016 Happy Friday!

Week: #3

Days: Not able to count calendar days yet - to be achieved:Namaste:

Type: Afghan Kush

Name: Clonepatra

Technique: Clone

Growth Comments: Very slow in growth due to my early planting, but she is slowly coming around. You can see in the pics that there is more growth underneath since I ponytailed the top. She just needs more light and time. I gave her water and nutrients and she almost perked up immediately.

Brain injury Behaviour: Said hi to my husband 6 times in one day, every time I would walk to the kitchen. I would walk up say hi and then just stand there...lol. We laughed and I apologized running away in shyness. Oh and apparently when I make my tea, I leave the tea bags in the whole time. My husband was drinking the tea and noticed it, mentioned it nicely to me. Ok, and what is my biggest word block this week? "Chainsaw!" I cannot for the life of me remember that word in my head. I always think crosshairs, crossroads, chair, but I cannot recall that word when I try to use it in a sentence. I'm aiming to recall it on the 3rd try. I will keep going till I get it.:goodjob:

Brain/Grow Rehabilitation Behaviour: I am feeling loved by my special grow friends which is making me feel safe in vulnerable times. The more I learn the more pride I take in my garden. I can’t be that far gone if I can grow a garden, with help of course, but I can do it. Pride of craftswomanship! :thanks:

What am I grateful for?: The kindness of strangers.:peacetwo:

Quote of the week: An organized journal is an organized mind. (Trying out a new format to deter long windedness):scratchinghead:

Plant & Personal Growth Information - Friday June 3, 2016 Happy Friday!

Week: 14

Days: Learning to count days on the calendar – to be achieved :Namaste:

Type: Afghan Kush

Name: Doris on the left - Romona on the right

Technique: Window/Greenhouse/T5’s/FIM

Growth Comments: It’s obvious I don’t have enough lighting, they are sopping up what trails of lighting I can provide. I read somewhere on a thread here (please forgive me for not remembering the author) that my pushing down the leaves around the flowers will allow more lighting to the buds and creates a denser bud. I have been doing that and wow have Romana & Doris responded.

You may have already noticed the nute burn but I quickly remedy that by adding a litre of water to dilute it. I make this mistake every time I grow. Note to self: I'm exceeding 5.5 and looking more like a 6-6.5. I got a great light being donated to me in order to further my experiments and studies.:high-five: You can give a fish to a starving girl, or you can teach her to go fish so she can feed herself. Boom!

Brain injury Behaviour: I am still not talking 90% of the time, which is my choice, and I am still extremely nervous dealing with people. It’s easier to have my husband talk for me and avoid most of the misunderstandings I’m experiencing social situations. I am missing social cues and I care too much about what people think about me, like unhealthily. Buuut, I’m happy to report that I have confided in a new friend face to face and she embraced me with tears. What is good is that we don’t have a friendship history before my brain attacks. So she has nothing to compare to, which prevents her from reacting. She is such a cool chica and handled my news better than I did. She is so open to my ideas and accepts my stutter and odd crying bursts of nervousness. This is a huge step in my social life, she probably doesn’t know how much her acceptance is building my confidence. But writing in this journal helps me tremendously during my silence too, until language therapy starts. It will take time, but I'm improving!:thumb:

Brain/Grow Rehabilitation Behaviour:
When I speak to my plants, my stutter to find new words does not exist. So, am I in flight or fight mode with people, but healing mode with plants? Yah, it kinda makes sense. I can’t process the way people react towards me when I have tried to reach out in verbal conversations. It hasn’t always gone well, but when I talk to my plants, I’m cool, calm and collected. It’s still very early in my medical conveyer belt of specialists who are baffled that it happened to me this young, (I'm not that young) but I see it as an advantage. :circle-of-love:

I wish I could tell my doctors what I’m doing to help my self through growing but our views are so opposite that I must remain anonymous to cater this experiment to my immediate needs. I did tell them that I do smoke the ganja and they made a note of that. So I continue on this double life, improving because of my grow, not because of the medical system...yet. I do like my doctors, I have to say, they take great care for me and take great interest in my vitals. but it’s so much more than that.:thumb:

What am I grateful for? That people still treat me with the dignity in which I carry myself. (not sure if those are the proper words to explain)

Hey growtohealme

Its great to hear that you are benefiting so much from interacting with your plants, I find working in the garden to be almost like meditation, a place where the mind can rest and all you have to think about is caring for the plants which will in turn benefit you so much :)
I'm loving the new format, its great to see a well balanced and structured journal
:thumb:

Looking great in here by the way, beautiful shades of purple, what day of flower is it?

Thanks for the feedback GF, I can't retrain my brain if I'm disorganized. So adopting some kind of template should help me. Am I missing any kind of info or do you think I have it all? A funny thing, I find it very difficult if not impossible to count days on a calendar, brain defect. I can count weeks but as soon as I get my calendar out and try counting I never get the same number twice, otherwise I could answer you question easy. I know they are 14 weeks - 3 weeks into flowering. Do you think I should start using my bloom nutrients now on both? Your wording and definitions are simple for me which makes it easier to understand...it's all good!

Plus, I don't know where I would be if I didn't have a garden for meditation and healing, you're so right!

Thank you for your kindness!:thanks:

Very exciting to update you on this weeks plant and personal health - A journal that celebrates people with disabilities - All is welcome especially those who want to experience what it's like to grow for your brain health.
GET BETTER SOON SNID!

Plant & Personal Growth Information - Saturday June 4, 2016 - SNID SAVES THE DAY

Week: 7 Veg

Days: Not able to count calendar days yet - to be achieved

Type: Purple Kush & CB Dream

Name: Kara & Kris

Technique: FIM/Scrog/LST (gentle massages during the night j/k...lol):goof:

Growth Comments: This week I'm happy to report that I scrogged my PK and now she is growing in nicely. Taking one feeding a week still and enjoying her vegetation. Waiting to see what she looks like when I transition to bloom. My CBD is the star of the ballet. Stretching clearly across my pot as I struggle to keep her branches down. Taking one feeding a week as projected but taking up waaay less room as the scrog. I am doing several techniques because I'm testing what my brain finds easier to maintain. I'm hoping this beauty benefits from my constant care and adjusting because I catering to her every limb...lol.:circle-of-love:

Brain injury Behaviour: I am only speaking 10% of the time as my brain continues to play tricks on me. My brain refuses to drink the bottom of the milk jug and choosing bread only from the centre of the loaf. I kissed a horse and I liiiiked iiit...during animal therapy, but not on the lips so it was okay, no cherry chapstick was hurt during the making of this program. lol. I held a stuffed animal during a potential job interview last wednesday...lol. Last but not least, I have started to shhh loud people in crowds. Just spontaneously shhhshing kids ramdomly that are screaming in public, yup, pretty funny when my husband starts to laugh. You can't make this stuff up...lol. Have a healthy brain week! :cheer:

Brain/Grow Rehabilitation Behaviour:
I have excelled in all the tasks that I have taken on. I am going to double my grow with attempting 2 new techniques, I have been researching lights and lux, thinking of extending my grow cubes and made some solid genuine friends. I feel lucky to be on this forum, yet I have a brain trauma in the outside world, how can this be? I will just keep my head down in the garden and live in the moment of sweet peace. :peace:

What am I grateful for? The light that I am about to receive...yay!:high-five:
