Grow #2: Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil

Sorry, missed this earlier. I haven't grown enough to know the difference, but my last grow I did pull over 4 ounces dried off a blueberry auto in a plastic pot so it's hard to say!

small sidenote: BB isnt really known for its massive yields ..; it is considered to be a connoisseur strain with moderate yields so to get 4 ounce from a BB is a great result ;)

Nothing wrong with that. We have buckets at work that have screens in the sides for working with fish eggs and I'm halfway considering "liberating" a couple to try out. But I'll try one change at a time to see what works.

Beautiful turkey day family shot! Love it. Hope you all had a great day buddy!!

Saturday morning and we're on a hot and sunny streak here in SoCal, so the plants are happy. Everyone got fed this morning, which is quick as I fed them Wednesday, but it has been pretty hot here. So...

AK 4 got standard nutes. The young'ns got:
3 ml cal/mag+
½ tsp Open Sesame
1½ tsp Tiger Bloom
¼+ tsp Grow Big (spilled a bit)
4 tbs Big Bloom

PPM was 980-180 water or 800 PPM nutes (before Big Bloom). Next watering change will be bump to 2 tsp TB and no more GB, and that should be it for the rest of their lives - except the Great White every 10 days or so. pH was around 6.4.

Can I use my granulated Spa-Up to raise the pH of my nute water? I'd dissolve it in distilled water first and add it in small increments, because the TigerBloom is pretty acidic and gets the pH close to 6.0 at full strength. Here is the bottle:

And here are the plants!

And my SPOG® on day 94 (sorry for the camouflage). Tomorrow I'll check the trichomes and see how we're doing:

So my SPoGs® that are stretching still have hope? Woo-hoo!

High Shed,

I've never seen a SPoG before. Looks kinda cool, actually. Yeah, right, a little cute. Looks like she's foxtaiing like crazy. Nice job!

Oh, spogs® are going to be the next big thing for those with special plants!

Both my blueberry and my AK-47 on the first grow did that, and it might be the high doses of Open Sesame all the way through harvest rather than during the first few weeks of flower like Fox Farms recommends. I have absolutely no proof though!

Would you post a pic of the 4 oz (biggest) spog you did? I'd like to see that. I've always wondered what you get from a single spike. You guys are awesome! Reps to you

Oh if that were only possible. In reality, this is the first ever SPOG®. Subsequent known spogs® belong to TheMadDabber and Flytier. I haven't heard from MadDab as to how much his weighed after drying, but he did starve it nute-wise, which I do not recommend. I have been pumping mine with nutes the whole way through flower.

When I said that my last grow did that (foxtailing), I meant the full-sized versions! See my first journal for pics.

Thanks for the recognition! My method is totally experimental, so stay tuned everybody for some hopefully cool results. And if anyone is interested, I have 71 ebooks downloaded on growing and I'll be happy to share them with any and all.

Your SPOG plant kinda looks like that supercropped PE I grew. My bud on that plant was not dense at all.

Don't know what Spa is, but it's listed as 100% Sodium Bicarbonate. I use a tiny amount of Arm & Hammer to raise the pH of my water to around 7. Tiny amount, as in milligrams per liter. My water is more acidic now since I changed my type of DI resin in my RO unit. It comes out of RO around 5 ish. I usually get that water bubbling,

1)add any NON-Organic nutes (because I am usually using less of these).
2)Adjust pH with Baking Soda and test/adjust with a titration kit to around 7. If I go over, I just dump it on a garden plant outside and start over.
3)add organic nutes and teas after the pH is adjusted as the ones I am using don't swing pH much and their dark so they mess with the color of the titration test (I don't test pH after I add teas).

Trying to give less non-organic nutes as the grow progresses. Today is the first time I have given them in a couple weeks and it was only .5 TB to 1.25l with the teas added later. I prob will not give them again.

I vaped some Blueberry from my first grow last night. As a smoke, it is OK at best-It will get you stoned, but I think I over nuted it last and it is pretty green tasting.

Vaping is a different story, it's actually quite pleasant.

Thanks nobody! None of my nutes are truly organic (except for the BigBloom) and I don't have the wide selection I see a lot of growers here have, so I'm kinda stuck for options.

I looked up sodium bicarbonate (spa pH up/baking soda) and the consensus seems to be that the sodium aspect is not good for the plants, and to use potassium hydroxide/potassium carbonate as in GH's pH Up. Have you found salt buildup using baking soda?

If I went with baking soda anyway, do I mix a solution with water first or just add the powder to the nute water? I feel like it would be easier to create a small bottle of high pH water to add to the nute solution as if it was the blue GH pH Up.
