GreenThumb J's White Widow Clone Run RTF/DWC

BY THE WAY............

Ordered my AC unit like 2 mins ago. 12,600 BTU with dehumidifyer built in. i'm very excited. My aquashield should arrive this week as well i'm hoping!!

I hold a universal MACS certification. Was required in my job.

Please tell me they didn't charge extra for the "with dehumidifier built in" part. A/C systems dehumidify by default. Run moist air over cold evaporator fins, and the moisture is going to condense, come hell or high water. That's why there's a pan with a drain under the evaporator. Ever notice water dripping from a window A/C unit? It's what they do...

Telling people a particular unit will dehumidify is one thing, but it bugs me when "marketeers" try to convince people that they're getting something extra, when they're not. Especially when they're charging extra for something the unit will do anyway.

Just felt the need to throw that out there.

Self evaporating actually.

The AC unit I bought didn't have extra charge for a dehumidification option

The reviews made it worth ordering. So we shall see!

Pictures of the cooltubes tonight!!!

Sounds very busy time for you recently, Greenthumb J, how is the cooltubes? :circle-of-love:

Very busy day today Twilight!

The Cooltubes look pretty awesome all hung up.

Good news for you! I am putting the clones under the Twilight Classic 165w LED this evening after transplanting them into 4" square pots.

This is only temporary as i will be doing the 4x BC SweetTooth from seed to smoke under the Classic 165w LED. But at least we get to see what this LED looks like over top of some plants.

The clones needed transplants into the 4" square pots because the roots were exploding out of the rockwool blocks. and they will no longer fit in the grow box as i now have the seedlings sitting the the hydro tub.

These were also the only pots i have however, and will be getting some more from the hydro store tomorrow or thursday.

Okay so i am going to have a full on picture update in about 15 mins when i am done transplanting the clones, watering the clones, and getting them under the LED panel.

See you all very shortly!!

Okay so i changed my mind. I'm not putting the clones under the LED because the stupid timers that the 600w HID packages came with are garbage and dont turn off my equipment at specified time. So it will be off to the Hydro store to get the ones i know they have there that are awesomely easy to use.

Maybe afterwards the clones will sit under the LED until i can get the damn exhaust fans and filters for each tent.

My picture update will come after i walk the lazy dog!

I can see your busy status for preparing a new journal. :)

And very happy to hear about your good news, if you are convenient, kindly share some pictures of them with your plants. :cheertwo:

Have a good rest, man~ :thanks:

Okay here we go with the picture update!

Lets just get into it!

First i'll start with the build of the TWO 600w CoolTubes and hanging them on the rafters of the tent.

Just some quick build shots:

Okay everyone, GreenThumb J is about to pass out! see you all on Weedsday!

Your busy for sure! The seedlings look great on the grow box. That thing looks like the control panel at cape Canaveral! The clones are looking healthy too.... Just a little water need.

The Twilight LED looks like it is throwing alot of light on those plants. I have seen on some leds, a switch to dim and brighten the light. For Sunrise, Afternoon and Sunset there is different intensity settings. Does yours do that GT? Its not necessary, but sure is cool!

OK, copper won't work. But you won't want to try to braze stainless to a Peltier. You'll cook it. But clamped to a flattened area on a stainless tube, with a thin layer of silicone grease, will work. (Transfers heat readily.)

But GT already said he's not handy with tools. That's kool. Different skill sets for different folks.

I'm starting to see that GT has a skill set that I like. And he chose his user-name from it. 8^)

I'd like to take a little vacation to visit our good neighbors to the north. Maybe pay him a visit, and :passitleft: with the gentleman. :thumb:

We have a very comfy pull out couch if you wanted to come have a visit! :)

I understand your lady's trepidation. My wife was the same way.

"You spent WHAT!??!" Then I got "A hole in the ceiling? You better not! Not MY ceiling!"

Now that the tent is in full bloom, she says "It sure smells good in there! We gotta wait another month? Can't you speed it up?""

Get the ball rolling, brother, and LGT will feel much better. Lots of smiles.

Your wife sounds like a smart lady! Hahahaha I will be growing in that tent too so once we get rolling I know I will feel better about all that cash we said goodbye to!

You know what? :thankyou: for the idea, GT. I hadn't thought about it, but now that you mention it, giving the wife a plant of her own is a most excellent idea.

"This plant is yours, Dear. When it's ready, we'll get it cured, and you'll have your very own jar."

Talk about scoring points with The Boss! :thumb:

I'm sure your wife will love it! It got me more on board with this and it will be nice to share a hobby :) Tell her to start up an account.. you get into pretty quick. Just waiting on those fans to arrive so we can get started.

Hey C1, yea the Twilight LED throws out a Huge amount of light! I have the clones underneath it right now. The one thing i dont like about these tents is the intake/exhaust holes. They dont have drawstrings to close up the hole and keep it light proof. its just these nylon string things that you use to tie the flaps around your ducting and such. but it doesn't tie up normally. Like you need to have something inside the hole to allow you to tie up the strings without the flaps sliding out of the knot you're trying to tie. Its fucking stupid!! and its making me kind of mad to honest. i dont want to have to slap duct tape or gorilla tape on the outside of the tent just to make it light proof, but that looks like what i'm going to have to do.

not too impressed with it, but whatever, it was a dirt cheap tent, so there was bound to be something that i didn't like about it

Those end-to-end cool tubes really show off the SIZE of your 8x8 tent. That's a lot of space to fill :)

Nice write up and photos on your tea brewing.

Those multiple bent tubes leading into rockwool babies remind me of feeding tubes in The Matrix.
You are growing monsters this time around :)

Yes Rado, we are growing some seriously big plants this time around. Lady GT is going to get one 600w light to herself and possibly her own tent to grow her OG kush underneath it and i'll flowering out the widow and the clones under the other 1 or 2 lights in the big tent.

Once the plants in the big tent are done, Cannabis 1 and myself are going to do a Side by Side, 2 plant MONSTER RDWC in 27gal totes per plant growing Bomb Seeds THC Bomb. I'm actually very excited for this grow with him. We've been discussing lots of ideas behind the scenes and i think our systems we build will be so efficient we will push well over a LB a plant, not to mention the scrog and training that we will do!

Later today, I'm going to start to prepare the widow for flower. i'm going to top her in a few places to get the height down a bit and get some more colas. I will also start to tie down some branches to prepare for the scrog that will be over top of her. because she's like 4ft tall and the 600w lights dont go any higher than they are, so I need to prepare for a bit of vertical growth. Im glad this particular strain doesn't stretch too much in flower, because if it did, i would have had to flower her out like 2 months ago.

By the time the AC arrives, i will have all my fans, filters, pots and aquashield to get all the Journals up and running.

Then at the end of the month, i am going to order my water chiller. I wont need it, or the AC in the winter here cause it does get pretty cold, and the lights should be just enough heat to keep the 2 rooms that my tents and grow box are in at a comfortable temp for the plants. If i decide to upgrade to 1000w lights in winter for the big tent for flower, i will put the AC and the water chiller inside the tent to make sure the temps stay nice! The LED tent sits next to an open window, so in the winter, the cold breeze coming in through the windows will make that room cold as fuck! which will be perfect for the grow box!

Jesus, its going to be busy around here trying to balance a 5 day a week job!

Take a picture of it. Can't you tie them on the inside also? If not, go to the hardware store and get some BIG zip ties.

Here ya go C1.. I'm thinking zip ties will be adequate, as long as i can keep the fuckin flaps inside the zip tie!

The one picture i folded it up and i figure a little Indian chrome (duct tape haha) would hold the hole closed to light does leak inside. Most of the holes will have ducting in it so i'm not worried about that.. its just the holes for the cables and shit like that.

Or you can use some pipe Insulation. The black round type. That's what I'm am using where my chiller lines enter the tent. Just put your wires into the insulation and throw a piece of tape in it to keep the insulation closed. Then you will have something to tighten on to. I'll take a few pics when I get home and show ya

That sounds like not a bad idea.. problem is i have these 6-8" holes on either side of the bottom of the tent... Would work great for air intake, but i also have vent flaps that velcro to the tent, so the holes are overkill, and will lead to light leaks i'm sure.

Also my dumbass self, figured out how to make the timers work hahaha. Too stoned sometimes i swear!!

That means clones are back under LED light for the time being cause they need some more light than the CFL thats in the box and the MH make the box too hot inside without the AC in the rooms so i am waiting to turn on the MH until the AC arrives
